Fact - best rolled tacos I've had. Made in house, not the frozen stuff, topped with the good shredded cheddar, slathered in guac, and a hefty amount of sour cream! Personal opinion* We went on a chase for "the best rolled tacos in SD" I hate to say this but we were really underwhelmed. Def not the best in SD. The only thing we liked was the texture, crunch and the amount of meat that was inside of the rolled tacos. The meat didn't have much flavor though. The toppings were just not it. The sour cream was actual thick sour cream that was overly loaded on top. Consistency like Daisy sour cream. I was expecting a crema kind of sour cream like the other taco shops. Guac was really bland. I don't even think they add salt. We even ate them right away because we were so excited. Whoever said these are the best, haven't had GOOD rolled tacos. Please stop gassing these up. Influencing people to drive super far for mediocre food. The burrito was ok, meat was not seasoned and there was lettuce inside (which was a first for me). Nothing we ate WOW'd us. I would say, honest opinion...I won't trust influencers who say this place is the best. There are way better places with more bang for your buck. Our experience wasn't great unfortunately. We traveled a half hour. There was a homeless man screaming from the top of his lungs in the parking lot and 5 cop cars across the street. This place is CASH ONLY, so be ready to have cash on hand. They have an ATM right at the window just in case. My wife sent me a reel on Instagram saying how this is the best rolled tacos in San Diego. We went here on a Thursday evening around 6:30pm and there was nobody here except for the drive thru, so there's not much of an ambience. Sitting outside is kinda loud because of the cars driving by, but that's it. We ordered the 5 rolled tacos (especial) and a beef taco. We ate it there since there was plenty of seating (outside only, there's no inside). Our order came in 5 minutes, but you could still tell everything was made fresh. I stopped by Los Taquitos Taco Shop during breakfast. I had the "breakfast" burrito for $10.99 plus tax, which comes with eggs, ham, cheese, and fries, but I axed the fries. If they were regular potatoes, I would have kept them. You can get a simple ham and eggs breakfast burrito for $9.99 plus tax as well. They offer good prices for their breakfast burritos. The burrito was pretty good. They put a lot of savory ham in the burrito. The eggs were a little over cooked and had browning all around them. The burrito came with a decent amount of cheese in them. They use a good quality flour tortilla, but they need to definitely wrap the burrito better so that it does not open up. They should also put it on the hot griddle, at the very least on the fold, so that it firms up the burrito. I had the burrito with the red hot sauce and it was good. It had good heat and good flavor. The hospitality was friendly enough and It was a little challenging to get a smile out of the lady behind the counter, but I eventually got one. $11.20 for the best Rolled Tacos aka "La Especial" in San Diego. I stopped by Los Taquitos in Chula Vista today for lunch and ordered my favorite rolled tacos. They are the crispiest and crunchiest rolled tacos I've ever tasted. I ordered 5, and they come with sour cream, a ton of REAL guacamole, and shredded cheese. The meat is seasoned well, and they put a good amount in each taco. They also included 3 small red salsas, which pair perfectly with the rolled tacos. They are spicy and have a hint of garlic. These tacos hit the spot! I've been coming here for about 35 years, and the menu is still the same, and so is the food. It's located along 3rd Avenue and Zenith. They have a drive-thru and only take cash. If using the drive-thru, it's best to enter from 3rd Avenue. There is an ATM on the front side of the taco shop. There are tables with umbrellas where you can sit and enjoy your food. There is also plenty of parking. The service is quick; I only waited about 8 minutes from start to finish. Try this place next time you are craving rolled tacos. If you're a roll taco fan, they are worth a trip. read more

I was sent here by my brother who heard this was the best rolled tacos. It's 24/7 with drive through which is cool but let's see if it's worth the hype! I made a YouTube video about it on "This Japanese American Life" if you're interested on full details. Overall i waited a bit for the rolled tacos but they were light, crunchy shells which were delish and the meat was flavorful. I would absolutely eat it again but not sure I'd travel far for it. I'd heard good things about Los Taquitos so I decided to try it out and it did not disappoint. I went through their drive-thru and ordered their 5 rolled tacos. I was pleasantly surprised it came with both guacamole and sour cream. The crunch was very present and pleasant. The taste was very good - probably the best rolled tacos I've had so far in San Diego. Thinking I wouldn't get full I also ordered a fish taco. The fish taco was good but not great but it did hit the spot and I left Los Taquitos very content. The guac and cheese were average and a guac, shredded lettuce and a thinner grated cheese would have taken it to another level. But the salsa was some of the best I've had in a very long time. My family is from Chula Vista but as most Mexican families do, we eat Mexican food at home. However, this spot has been here forever and is known for their rolled tacos and having a drive thru. I shared a 5 rolled tacos especial with a friend and, though the beef was delicious and tender and the taco itself was extra crispy, the salsas and guacamole lacked flavor. So I'm going to give this place three and a half Stars I couldn't do it on the thing so it says 4 stars drove about 10 miles to get here, I wanted to try it out because I saw a tick tock video about it that my brother sent me. It was a little far to drive but hey got too try, I ordered the five roll tacos I didn't get sour cream on it because I'm not a big sour cream fan on that but the guacamole and cheese definitely. So I have a place near me called Humberto's which has some really great roll tacos the thing I can say about these roll tacos is they stayed crisp I mean really crisp kind of unusual how crispy they stayed with all the guac and cheese on it usually they kind of soggy up. I love the crisp throughout the five little tacos now the negatives the guacamole was different it wasn't like crushed avocado with the works in it it seemed like avocado and cream so is a little different the cheese was the not the finely shred cheese which I like better the Taquito tasted good was it the best Taquito in San Diego I'm sorry to say no I'm still out looking for that right now as far as crispiness they win, flavored I got to go with Humberto's but if you're ever in the area definitely give it a try well worth it. read more

They put the lettuce on first then the cheese so you didn't get that melted cheese on the tacos. I also tried the refried beans. They were a bit bland and I only ate one bite. Super friendly service and food was cooked to order, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, the guacamole I luckily had on the side and it wasn't really my favorite, like a green mousse. Went to buy carne asada fries that I was really craving, paid about $16 dollars for them, they use the crinkle cut fries (which I hate) & were soggy... worst part is there was NO FLAVOR. Very bad experience today! ‍ I have been coming to this taco shop going on 32 years. I just had an incident that happened to me that I wouldn't want any other customer to go through. I ordered my food and got home. I noticed my roll tacos had no sour cream and a lil bit of cheese. I called the taco shop since I was 8min away and talked to a worker there by the name of Ester. She said sorry and that if I wanted to, I can come back and pick up the sour cream they for got to put on my roll tacos. She said, if I couldn't stop by today, I can go another day and pick up the sour cream. I was like really, all I wanted was to go back for them to make me fresh ones with everything it normally comes with as they should have. So, she wanted me to drive 8min, put some miles and waist gas and my time to drive all the way back to the taco shop, roll tacos basically soggy by the time I get there just to pick up sour cream. Hahahhaha I did not want free food, just wanted my order done right for the price they charging now days. Anyways, she started getting loud and rude over the phone so, I don't recommend this place at all to anyone! Go to Señor Panchos next door, food is fire and that they are not rude at all. 32 years down the drain just like that. We use to come here all the time for big orders... I got the carne asada that has crinkle cut fries and the Jumbo burger with jamon. There were some reviews with bad experiences here but my boyfriend and I had a decent experience ordering and got these massive sized food for a pretty reasonable price. We shared both and finished the burger but the fries were only halfway in and both of us could not finish it anymore so it can be saved for the next day. It does get soggy yes but I airfry it maybe flip the top to the bottom to get those bottom soggy ones and you should be good to go. Definitely coming back tbh and see if anything changes.
