Chula Tacos H Street, Chula Vista, CA location.

Went back to Chula Tacos on H Street in Chula Vista, CA, to try their carne asada tacos and they did not disappoint. The carne asada meat had that smokey taste like what to get at the Mexican taqueria stands in Mexico. We also ordered the pork Al Pastor tacos and were very delicious. Chula Tacos makes their own corn tortillas on the spot which makes the tacos taste even better. These tacos comes with a generous amount of guacamole. The service was great with enough indoor and outdoor seating. Location is near the H Street Trolley station next to Carl's Jr. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Stopped by Chula Tacos and it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the regular tacos -- 2 asada and 2 al pastor -- plus an asada mulita, and everything was really good. The tacos were packed with meat (no skimping here), flavorful, and satisfying. They bring out three different salsas with your order, which was a nice touch, and all of them were solid and complemented the tacos well. The staff was friendly, courteous, and welcoming, which always makes the experience better. There's seating both inside and outside, so you've got options. They have music playing in the background which makes it lively The only downside is that parking is a little tight, but once you're inside, it's worth it. Overall, great food, generous portions, and good service -- I'll definitely be back

I saw this place on social media and I have been dying to go! You cant miss it! Once you pull up you'll see the smoke from them using the grill to cook their meats and you'll know your in the right place! The parking situation is pretty tight so good luck finding some where to park. I walked in and immediately thought the at was beautiful on the walls. It smelled so good inside and you could see the staff making fresh tortillas! There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. And the woman who took our order was very kind and patient with us. We ordered a Lamb Taco, an Al Pastor Mula, and the Gringa with Al Pastor and Carne Asada. The Lamb taco was so tender and juices, it was perfectly cooked! The Al Pastor Tacos were full of flavor and the corn tortilla was freshly mad which made for such a delicious bite! And the Grinda was a freshly made flour tortilla that pulled this giant taco together. I had to say. The carne asada was perfectly cooked! Not dry at all which is so common. I love carne asada but when it's done right and this is the best I've found in California so far! The green salsa was really good and the orange salsa they had on the table was also such a nice touch with a little bit of heat and some citrus. The guacamole on the tacos was a very generous amount but they don't add any seasoning in it so add lime and salt if you need to. And they brought us an extra bowl if limes with radish and cucumbers. We also got an horchata but it was a little too artificial for me. Good but very sweet. There's a large drink selection with other aquas too! Over all, Chula Tacos was amazing, super authentic and the food taste like it's made with love! I can't wait to go back!

Chula Tacos has recently opened their latest location in Chula Vista on H street. I love their al pastor tacos so I ordered a trio and $3.50 each. The tacos came doubled up with the mini corn tortillas as they should be. I like that they put on the hot griddle with a little bit of juice from the al pastor. The tacos were great! The came generously filled with freshly made guacamole and tender al pastor pork meat. The meat was delicious and the guacamole was well seasoned. The hot sauce that came on the tacos was tasty and offered a medium heat. The chopped white onions and cilantro that came on all three tacos were fresh. There's a good amount of inside seating, but parking can be tight during busy hours. Andrea at the counter was very nice and friendly when she took my order. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you with hot sauce bottles and a little basket with sliced limes and radishes.

Quite disappointed after a friend recommended this spot and we finally made it! We got the al pastor keka, al pastor tacos, and pollo tacos since they don't offer carne asada yet!! I had no idea they didn't have it yet, otherwise I would've gone to the palm location. A space was fine, the service was fine, but the food just was bland. That meat was just OK, a little crispy than I expected, the guacamole was bland, the handmade tortillas were just OK. The big tortilla for the kicker seemed quite thick. I did like the thickness of the taco tortillas. Horchata was nice and fresh, not too sweet. I like the Horchata but at $4.50 and no refills, it's a bit pricy! Had to try my friend's recommendation though!

Ordered a tripas mula the meat wasn't as cooked as a would have liked more on the soft side but didn't taste the most clean to me. Then got a labio taco too wet and too much salsa for the fresh tortilla. Made it difficult for it to stay together. Would try again different meats but wasn't my favorite tbh

Chula Tacos has recently opened a location in Chula Vista. It is located on H street close to the 5 freeway. There is plenty of seating. It is my third time there, the service has been great and the food has been very good. They are waiting for the city to give them the permit to start cooking the carne asada outside in the front. I will definitely be back to try it.

Ranking up in my top taco spot in Chula, none better than CHULA tacos in Chula Vista. At the time of this review, it was a soft opening. No carne asada during the construction period, they are building an outdoor cooking area for the carne asada, so they do not diminish the quality of their carne asada. The service was quick, friendly and very efficient. The food is truly amazing, and the Keka is the best around. With an amazing hand made tortilla. Will be coming back regularly.

This place is alright. There's nothing special about the food here. The tacos were pretty bla It's not as good as tacos el gordo or tacos el prieto before it.

They charge you $4 if you want grilled onions.

I wanted to like this place since it's new, but it fell short. The cashier was rude, I asked if salsa was in the bag, she dismissively said yes, and when I got home there was none. The tacos weren't hot or fresh, and they charge extra for grilled onions and jalapeños, which I've never seen at any taco spot. Tacos el Prieto, which was here before, was much better. Save your money and go to Tacos el Gordo instead. Do not recommend.

That alone made me feel like the wait wasn't wasted. We tried a variety of tacos, and everything was solid. The spicy pork (which actually isn't that spicy) was super flavorful and easy to eat. I will highly recommend even if you don't handle spice well. The beef tongue was another standout, it is tender, rich, and really well done. Ordering can be a little confusing at first since you line up by meat and then pay separately, but once you figure it out, it's part of the experience. If you're in San Diego, this place is pretty much a must-try. I'd come back again just for these tacos.

While this spot is affordable, it's not cheap. These tacos quickly add up and you could easily spend $20-30 a person depending on your hunger level. I tried a number of carne asada tacos, the cactus tacos, a tostada, quesadilla, and French fries. It's hard to choose a favorite since each item is so uniquely delicious.

These tacos were delicious, juicy, packed, and crafted so wonderfully. The people were very nice, and i loved that they had the salsas at the table with chili oil. I had never thought that chili oil would be good with tacos? But it works! The carne asada here is the star of the show. We had a al pastor one and it was ok but not better than the carne. First, I ordered an adobada taco. The meat wasn't cooked properly on the trompo why ? :( then they threw it on the grill and ended up burning it. That completely defeats the point of even having a trompo if you're just going to burn the meat afterward. It had a bitter, burnt taste. Next, I got a carne asada taco, and it was completely overcooked and dry:(honestly, drier than the Mojave Desert. The tortilla was hard and didn't taste fresh at all. Nothing about the tacos tasted like the quality I remember. The customer service was just as disappointing. I stood in front of the carne asada guy for about 5 minutes before he even acknowledged me. What made that worse was that there were no other customers there t wasn't busy at all. The workers seemed more focused on talking and laughing with each other than paying attention to the food or the customers. I even think I saw what might've been the owner there, which makes this even more frustrating because this place used to be good. It feels like they're letting it go downhill. I'm giving this a one-star review, but I'm being honest when I say I actually want this place to get better.
