However, an incident happened recently that has now complicated my love for them. I ordered two burritos for delivery recently and one ended up being wrong. It was supposed to be a Burrito Americano with shredded chicken, something I've had before. What came had ground beef and no red sauce, so I figured it was an entirely different burrito and called to let them know mine might have been swapped with someone else's. I understood that there was a good chance it wasn't getting replaced because I couldn't drive up to get another one, and yes that ended up being the case, but what got me was the guy on the phone said "oh sorry, on our tablets where we receive orders, we couldn't see that you made a meat selection so we just chose one." I confirmed that wasn't the case on my end. So one, that's crazy. Two, we've ordered from them before and that hasn't been a problem. Three, if that's true, how am I supposed to trust that I'll ever get what I ordered? So I don't know if they're not taking responsibility for their mix up for if they have a new system that's going to cause a lot of issues. But either way, I'm not thrilled and I'm probably done with them.

I am usually stuffed but I guess it did not come with rice/beans or anything??? Service is fast and friendly and we always enjoy our visit here.

So when I go, I know my experience will be top notch. It was Taco Tuesday and I was actually craving a taco. Normally when dining at Riviera and wanting tacos, I order their shrimp. This Tuesday, I changed things up and ordered, shredded chicken. It was simply made in a soft tortilla shell with only shredded lettuce and cheese. The chicken was tender, juicy and seasoned well. I topped the tacos with some of the salsa that was served with the complimentary chips. They really hit the spot on this Taco Tuesday. The tacos are served 3 to an order with a side of Mexican Rice. I added a side of Refried Beans to my order. I don't eat my beans and rice separately, I mix the two together creating a totally different texture and taste. I even mix in some salsa to give it an extra kick. I learned the trick of mixing the two from another diner at another Mexican restaurant. I saw her doing it and once I tried it myself, I've never stopped. You can't have tacos without a Margarita and the Top Shelf Mags here are very refreshing. I don't do salt on my rim, but you can if you want. Their glasses are thick glassed, so they are heavy. Lifting them is like a gym workout, so you're burning calories as you're drinking them. Service is always friendly and attentive. Even as a lone diner, they always check back with me to make sure everything is okay. With this heat wave we're having, I dined on the inside, but their patio is pretty relaxing.

Because, when I do come, I enjoy my experience. The other day I stopped in for lunch and in the foyer, they had a board with weekly specials. One of the specials was, Shrimp Chimichanga. That made my decision real easy. Shrimp Tacos and Quesadillas are my favorite Mexican foods, so why not try a Chimichanga. It came with Refried Beans and Rice. It also has small servings of Guacamole and Sour Cream. The shrimp inside my Chimichanga were good sized and if memory serves me right, there were 8 stuffed inside. If not 8, it was 6 and it filled it to the brim. I love it when an entree has Guacamole, that way you can use it with your chips as you enjoy your entree. It also allows me to order good ole White Cheese Dip at the beginning, to enjoy with the complimentary Chips and Salsa. When I was served mine, the chips were still warm. Nothing beats a fresh warm chip dipped in salsa and white cheese. Dining alone makes it acceptable to double dip mixing the two together. A Margarita was my adult beverage of choice. I enjoyed a Jumbo sized and it lasted me through my appetizer and entree. To my delight, it was served to me in a frosted Margarita glass. I was frosted better than some beer mugs I have had. My server was friendly and attentive. In addition to waiting on tables, he was busy wrapping silverware and his multi-tasking did not take away from quality service. I plan to keep Taqueria Maya in my rotation of Mexican restaurants. It's worth the drive and worth passing by some of their competitors, to enjoy their quality of food.

She didn't care for the seasoning but she's admitted picky with a very low tolerance for spicy food. I had mine with traditional hash browns and eggs over easy. I've had better country fried steak but it was decent and the meal was otherwise great. Everything was served on one plate, just the way I like it, allowing me to mix things up with my hash browns and biscuits. The biscuits are served on the side of the plate, not topped with gravy in case you'd rather have butter and/or jelly on your biscuits, and they were hot and fluffy with good flavor. It was a very filling meal. The wait staff were great, friendly and responsive. We'll be sure to return to try other items from their impressive menu.

Don't listen to the previous negative reviews. They are not from around here and are probably just trying to make their own places look better which is pretty sad. This place is great and the guys work their butts off to please each and every customer. Sure, every restaurant makes mistakes, but a one time visit should not be used to publically post a negative review online. As for the ice cream (not pie wow) in the face, thats what several people went there for until one young woman complained (after asking for it). It is my belief that she was upset that it was not a Mexican guy who brought it to her. After this was stopped, thats when the complaints started from the hundreds of people who looked forward to this every year. If this is such a 'crackerty cracker' town, why did he drive here to eat anyway? Do not listen to these harshly judgemental and jealous reviews. They had a special grand re-opening last night, which I avoided. I knew the crowds would be insane, so I came for their first day serving lunch. I like how the ambiance is old school Italian. White linen table cloths and black linen napkins. The tables are protected it a sheet of butcher paper cut to the exact size. It protects that pretty white linen. As a centerpiece, they have tacky artificial flowers. Table would look better without it. My server was quick to greet me. I ordered a Pino Grigio as my adult beverage. When she delivered my wine, I said I needed more time to look the menu over. When she came back, I asked a couple of questions and went with the chalkboard special, Meat Cannelloni with Spinach Pink Vodka Sauce. It came with a side salad and a breadstick. I chose Bleu Cheese as my dressing. The dressing was thick, creamy and had chunks of Bleu Cheese. The lunch special had two cannelloni's filled with meat and overly covered in a rich pink vodka sauce blended with lots of sautéed spinach. The sauce had good flavor, they just over poured on top of the cannelloni. Luck for me it came with a breadstick to wipe up the extra sauce. My server was attentive. She checked on me a couple of times while I dined. Sonny the owner, was assisting servers and thanking guest for coming back. From what I have heard in the community, everyone is glad Sonny is back in charge. I think they'll be doing just fine.
