Pizza Burger with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries

Cold beer & friendly service. They always have a few specials to choose from so I had the Horseshoe with pulled pork and cheddar cheese. They top it off with grilled onions and bacon. It didn't disappoint, it was so tasty and filling. I will order that again. Sorry no picture

Patty melt, prepared perfectly! Cheesy and seasoned properly caramelized onions, very flavorful!!

The food was extremely tasty and fresh. They cooked the order! Service was outstanding very attentive. The ambience is typical, YellowDog ! Rustic and authentic historic, all wrapped into one!

Was in the small town of Worden IL and a local recommended this place. They offer many selections on their menu. The food came out in a timely manner and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Pizza Burger because it was unlike any other burger I'd ever tried. It tasted good but didn't overly excite me. I got the sweet vidalia onion dressing for my salad, which I wasn't a fan of. I heard their creamy garlic is delicious but they were out that day. The pork rinds were the best part of this trip! The are made to order with different flavors. You can hear them still crackling when you receive them. I got cajun which I highly recommend!! Personally a big downfall to me is that this is a cash only bar- so make sure you hit up the ATM before arriving! @stl.foodie

Bang for your buck, it's the best place around. Cheap beer, great food, neat atmosphere. What else could you ask for?

Good food. Friendly servers. We had lunch here rather than going to a fast food place.

Small but great! The service is good and the food is good! Very close to home! Taco Tuesday has great nachos. Only accepts cash.

Select your own table. 4 of the 6 of us walk in together and we grab couple-three tables that will seat all of us. The host comes over and asks whether we are sure we need only that much space (standard seating for 6) because it is so much more difficult to be moving chairs around later on when they're busier. Beat. Yes, we are sure. Then the server comes around and greets us with something like, "So are we gonna have 20 different cards here? Or what?" Beat. Beat. People exchange glances. He says he's kidding, but of course he's only kidding about 20 cards as there are only 6 of us. I get it. You're busy. Restaurant work is fast-paced and stressful. I'll go somewhere where they aren't overwhelmed.

It is worth the stop just to see all the Route 66 memorabilia. The entire restaurant is decorated with a Route 66 theme. Having lunch or dinner of comfort food at this roadside diner, is a bonus. Looking at the menu, I was thinking about Chicken Wings or a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Then I started chatting with three blue collar workers at the counter, they recommended the Fried Chicken and a Ham & Cheese Sandwich. They actually said, everything is really good. The restaurant was packed at 12:30 PM, so it must be true. When the waitress came to take my order, I ordered a Pork Fritter Sandwich. It basically was a Fried Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. The waitress said I make a good decision. It was on the thick side and the crispy coating had good seasoning. I only had them add, pickles and onion. It was served on a hamburger bun Instead of the chips that came as a side, I paid for an upgrade to fries. The fries were super crispy and skinny, reminisce of old-time Steak & Shake fries. The service was hospitable. It was obvious who were regulars and which one of us were first timers. That really didn't matter, we all got the same attentive service. There's a huge Route 66 Sign across the street, that is perfect for pictures. Smile!

It was a little bit confusing on if we went to the main checkout or the one in the corner, which is kind of like a weird restaurant/ gambling area. Anyway, after we figure out what we wanted we waited for the order and ate it on the drive home. It did not package well, even from the store to the car which was like a 10-second walk. The fries were mushy and gross, and I feel like the burger was completely underwhelming. I think steak 'n shake has some of the best burgers. If we were going to stop somewhere local we probably should have done that. That. There's nothing to write home about and they offer a discount on some ice cream that's hand scooped, my partner got some of that and tried it and it was completely freezer burnt. So needless to say we won't be back, but it was I guess. Guess interesting to check out a local spot that I've been curious about. 3/10 won't try again and wouldn't recommend.

I was sitting on their spacious patio, so it was melting fast and I was trying to eat it as quickly as it was melting. I would have preferred to been able to slowly eat it and truly enjoy the rich flavor of the custard and strawberries. However, sipping on the melted custard with the chunks of chocolate, did make for a nice treat, too. I'm coming back to try some of the food. The inside dining room was filled with senior citizen couples enjoying lunch. If it's good enough for them, I am confident I'll enjoy it, too. The young staff working the service window were friendly and very professional. They've been trained well, in providing quality customer service.

Instead, it was a very enjoyable breakfast. I ordered, The Livy which was, one egg, choice of protein, hash browns and toast. I choose bacon as my protein. Their menu proudly promotes that the bacon and sausage is from local farmers. Trust me when I tell you, the bacon was very delectable. It could have been crisper, but the flavor made up for the lack of crispiness. I choose not to take the toast with my breakfast entree, because I also ordered a half size of Biscuits and Gravy. The biscuit was not made it house, its shape was too perfect. However, the gravy with chunks of locally sourced sausage made it a true comfort dish. The gravy was a semi-thick milk gravy and it wasn't overly seasoned with salt and had the right amount of pepper. Trying to watch my sodium intake, I like it when chefs are light handed when shaking the salt into a recipe. The atmosphere is like stepping back into the 50's. You truly will feel as if you left the sock hop and stopped by the local soda shop for a bite. I'll give you a heads up, the outside is junky with a lot of weird stuff. Ignore the decor on the outside and head straight into the diner for a good home cooked meal. The service was impressive. One waitress was taking care of the entire small dining room. I over heard her tell another table, that she was relatively new. Being new, she did a great job. She was attentive and very personable. Her service alone would get me to come back.
