And a really nice big playground. They have subtle but cute Christmas lights display when the season comes. And their softball league is run better than MLB. You can see a variety of wildlife pond life, avian life, as well as so many different types of foliage. It was a nice peaceful walk on a flat path that was graveled and wide enough for many people to pass by each other without touching the foliage at the side of the path. There are many little offshoots towards the ponds that have a bench to sit on and watch and wile away the hours , if you choose. The pond lilies are plentiful and beautiful pink color many of which are blooming right now and the end of July. If you are looking for a vigorous hike, this is not the place.This place has flat paths that wind through the woods and around ponds and are very peaceful and quiet. In the early mornings, you can see beavers hard at work.You can see dear browsing for food.There are many birds singing happily in the trees, as well as ducks , geese and turtles in the ponds.

The area is well kept where the garden is but when you venture off into one side, it's a dark tunnel with spray paint all over. People were still running through it so I'm assuming it's a safe area. it's across the street from an art museum and the Japanese garden is a part of another history museum. Overall, I would say go because it is a pretty area with free parking, just missing a star because I thought it was going to be much larger with more history.

No need for maps or worries of getting lost, it's perfect for a nice walk. My son loves looking for all the wildlife especially if there are any ducks or fish. There were a few different groups there doing what looked like senior pictures or photos before an event. I am amazed at how restful and beautifully maintained it is. The flowers were welcoming, the small waterfall enchanting, the trails curious and winding, and the wildlife amusing. I felt more relaxed and grounded after my visit than I have in a long time. The only negative was that someone was smoking weed on a park bench and the odor instantly turned me off. I'm sure smoking is not allowed, but I was chagrined that in this little section of The Garden of Eden someone would assume to make the place smell like a stoner's living room.

This is such a beautiful park to enjoy a nice walk, jog, a bike ride or to go fishing (no spots to play sports of any kind here). There are a couple small grassy areas you can sit with a blanket and have a small picnic, eat lunch or bring your own lawn chair and enjoy a book. Plenty of benches to sit down, relax and enjoy the view of the water. In addition, the trees provide lots of shaded areas to appreciate as you walk through the paved trail on a hot summer day. Lastly, there are a lot of droppings from the geese (the children were stressing about avoiding it). I didn't see a playground during my walk but there is a very nice playground available for the children in front of the library that is located adjacent to the park entrance - you'll see it. I used my GPS to get here and parked at the courthouse parking lot, there was a path to where the trail starts - in my photos. Bring bug spray and sunblock in the summer and enjoy a stroll after a good meal. Rated this park four stars because I would probably only come back to take a walk if I'm already in the area but there's nothing here you absolutely have to see if you were visiting Buffalo. However, the park is beautiful and serene. If there was more to do or picnic tables for families to sit and eat, I would give it five stars.

Interesting facts learned on fireflies: they like leafy dark areas, eat slugs, and snails and really lite up the park. They have an indoor casino (not the gambling kind) that you can rent and plenty of outdoor space. The restrooms are pretty far apart from eachother so I would recommend scoping it all out before you book one. My only complaint about this park is that there aren't a ton of sports facilities. There is a tennis court and a basketball court. But no soccer field? Or baseball? There is so much wasted space that could be used for these activities. The very best part of the entire park is the dog park though!!

There looks like a small wading pool open in the summertime, and also love that this is right in a cute little neighborhood. No parking but folks didn't seem to mind/have trouble parking. There are swings, a small and large basketball court, some benches, picnic tables and a gazebo from what I saw. Plenty of green space to set up a picnic!

This is a great four mile long bike path about a mile outside of the Village of Lancaster. We saw a few lazy groundhogs and a hawk, I feel like this could be a great area animal viewings. There are some nice water areas as well. The path has markers every 1/4 mile to make it easy to track your progress if you don't want to walk the 8 mile round trip. Parking was easy to find at the trailhead but is limited.
