Server told me the new brewery located by Kmart is almost completed and will be open for tours. He described it as a giant industrial sized operations plant for worldwide distribution. The food here is great! I got the codfish sandwich, which was delicious. It comes with coleslaw and tomato on it. Their coleslaw is sweet and was great with the fried cod. My husband got a burger with cheddar and is was also delicious. Smoky and cooked exactly as he asked, medium rare. We also had their rootbeer, which had a great flavor. I would have liked a little more carbonation, but still great. We also had their pretzel with hot mustard. I loved it, but my husband said the mustard was to spicy for him. Get LOST and get into this place. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this place. They had an interesting variety of brews and brew pub stable of food (burgers, sandwiches, etc). The Alley Cat is a good amber, Downtown Brown is solid, the Indica IPA is a good quality IPA, the Pale Ale is tasty and the Lost Coast Wheat was quite mellow. The interesting brews were the fruity flavored ones that might satisfy some of the rookie beer drinkers in your group... the Apricot Wheat was sweet and good for the ladies. The Tangerine Wheat is quite orangey, but passable. Loved this stop! The food was great and the beer was tasty but the place was just too loud. Granted, we stopped in at eight thirty on a Friday night. I'd imagine if I lived in Eureka, this is the place I would go for a night out. I tried the beer sampler and in case you didn't know, ten samples of beer is the equivalent of two and a half pints. The beer was good though. My favorite might have been the Tangerine Wheat, not only because of the cute picture of the Tangerine, but that it tastes so fruity it's like having dessert in a glass. I have never eaten anything at this restaurant that I didn't LOVE! I highly recommend reservations if you're planning to come in for dinner. This brewery has lots of parking out back, and is within walking distance of many shops in Old Town Eureka. The atmosphere is very loud, but the vibe is always happy. They boast a killer array of delicious brews, and their pub food does not disappoint. My most recent visit I tried their Shrimp Po' Boy. The flavor was incredible! There was deep fried shrimp, tomato, tempura avocado, and a creamy Cajun remoulade that had serious bite to it. You may have to wait a while for your entree during peak times, but it is ALWAYS worth the wait. Be sure to get fries on the side any chance you can! Love one of their beers? Their opinion of the flight of ten: Lost Coast Wheat: (they decided this would be the baseline against which the others would be judged) "an unfiltered beer...yeast adds a complex note to the flavor profile...wheat is hopped with Willamette hops for a spicy aroma and Hallertauer hops as a nod to Germany where wheat ales originated." Wife: 5. Daughter: 5 Pale Ale: "California style...balance of malt & hops. Citrusy Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops for the classic Pale Ale flavor...smooth, balanced beer." Wife: "UGH. 3." Daughter: 4 Alleycat Amber: "Blend of Caramel & Munich malts... medium bodied, richly colored amber ale. Malty, smooth beer with a mellow hop aroma..." Wife: "Yeh. Better. 6". D: (scornful look) "you did NOT just do that." I sigh and return to the description sheet. Great White: "A golden, unfiltered, easy to drink beer. We add kaffir lime leaves, coriander and a special blend of Humboldt herbs. Perfect to enjoy on a sunny beach day..." I stop reading. What are you two chortling about?? W: "HAHAHAHAHA HUMBOLDT HERBS??" D: "They seriously wrote that on the description?" Just sample the damn beer. W: (snort). "Looks like Coors light" (oooh, the ultimate insult). 4 D: "Weak. 3" Well, I guess those (cough) Humboldt Herbs don't do much for the beer. Indica IPA: "Hoppier and higher in alcohol than its lil' sis, Pale Ale. Cascade hops for a citrusy aroma and Calypso hops for a hint of tropical fruit. A subtle malt character balances this highly hopped ale." W: (wrinkled nose) 3 D: (grimace) "I hate hops. Zero. I'll drink it if its the only thing available. No." Me: Well, it's good to know you have standards, honey. And finally, Tangerine Wheat: "This unfiltered, citrusy ale is tangy and refreshing. The citrus and aroma flavor coalesce perfectly with the wheat and barley backbone. W: "Just sorta there. Guess we're not much for the wheat, either. 5." D: 6 So they split up the remaining amounts of beers based on their scores; daughter downed the Indica only-drink-if-there's-nothing-else-around. Me, I just drank my soda water. And the lemon Parmesan fries? They're really good. I think daughter's problem is the spices sometimes clump together and she got a mouthful of lemon rind. Don't let that put you off unless you hate lemon. Or ask to try a few. read more

I did not hate this place. I really liked it. Or I really wanted to like it rather. It is definitely a pub that you can order food in. The inside decor is very interesting and seems like an awesome local hangout for those whoever live in the Eureka area. The brand is really cool and the art is really cool. The service was also pretty on point. The waitress kept up with us and showed us some love. Didn't feel neglected at all. That being said... We ordered the beer flight and we tried over 10 beers and struggled to find one we liked (we drink a lot of beer). We kind of ended up ordering a pint of the Watermelon Wheat just so we wouldn't hurt anybody's feelings. Like... Seriously?? "Y'all just tried 10 beers and y'all don't want a pint of any of them?" Nah. Not really. The fruit flavored beers were aight. And the beer bottle labels were kind of cool. Fast forward to dinner. Everyone else had the French dip. I had the prawn tacos. The prawns were amazing. They were fried in coconut flavored breading? The rest of the taco was a bit confusing. It had avocado, mango, lettuce, creme sauce, and general tso's sauce? Let's just say there wasn't enough lettuce to balance it all out so the rest of the ingredients (besides the prawns) were a bit mushy or slimy at times. The general tso's sauce tastes just like very same sauce at the Chinese buffet and was very messy and ended up being pretty sticky. I ate everything in less than 10 minutes. We enjoyed a nice lunch here on the first day of our 3-day stay in Eureka. We felt fortunate to get a spot at the bar of this very busy place. By the time we left Eureka, we were convinced this was the area's hot spot. I was disappointed that it was more of a restaurant than a brewery/bar and I always felt a bit crammed whenever we were there.
