Everything they make here is fresh and delicious. The soups are all amazing! They offer a combination of either 1/2 sandwich and soup or salad or smaller soup/ salad combo. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. On a nice day I enjoy eating on the front deck and sometimes they even have live music. read more

At first, I wasn't sure if the food was gonna be good because this was just a little establishment with a few beers on tap and it was pretty quiet. It seemed a little artsy Fary, but unique. We ordered three dishes and had some local brew, and the sandwiches and food were great. All three of us thought. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I personally thanked the staff and told him that it was very good and I would be back. Definitely make this a lunch stop and you will not be disappointed. read more

An unexpected delight! Passing through on the way home to the Bay Area and stopped here for lunch. Split the Spun Goat salad and Athena sandwich. Both creatively prepared with the freshest ingredients. If this was back home, it would become our go-to place! Great music too. Drove up and Coltrane was playing! P.S. Found this great joint through Yelp. Was not disappointed. The sandwiches and salad combos we ordered were very tasty and a perfect light dinner after going to the Sequoia Park Zoo and Redwood Skywalk. Place was clean, service was great and staff friendly. Amazing food and service the first time....i believe the owner was there. Tried coming by today with my family and was not greeted nor my order taken in the five minutes we stood there confused... Our table was nasty sticky, it smelled horribly inside which I attributed to a customer inside (whatever arcata right) but when we went to order, we were further ignored. We just decided to leave at the point with our $120 or so we would spend. Hoping they can turn it around. read more

The Tony Sandwich is to die for, as is the mimosa with fresh squeezed orange juice. Today I tried their Bacon Baked Potato soup which was cooked to perfection! The soups also rotate, which I appreciate. However, the best part of my experience here EVERY SINGLE TIME, is the customer service. You can tell the team here genuinely loves their job & puts their heart into their work. I have been (and will continue to be) an overly satisfied returning customer. read more

Randomly wandered into this deli due to the absurd line at los bagels. Sooo happy that we came. Ordered The Tony and this enormous sandwichy goodness came out and crushed. Salads and panini's are out of control. I am never going to Los bagels knowing the oak is right around the corner, plus beers on tap and over sized mimosas are a nice way to wash down The Oak's menu. Hands down the best sandwich in Humboldt County. Highly recommend the Tony. Some of the freshest ingredients, the outdoor seating that is lovely/ in the sun, and staff is polite. It's a deli, so it gets busy. Customers should manage expectations, order at the counter and sit down. Grateful to have such a nice place in the neighborhood. read more

Pretty much the best food spot in Arcata. Everything is good here. Locally sourced and quality ingredients. The beer is made in house. Amazing food and amazing people! Came in yesterday around 3. There was one other group inside who already had their food. We ordered an app, 2 sandwiches and my partner got a beer (only had 3 beer options.. odd for having "brew" in the name). It was roughly $60. We sat on the patio. The app was good, but it took nearly an hour to get our sandwiches. Not sure why, we didn't order anything weird. I had finished my iced tea and my partner had finished his beer by the time our sandwiches came. Unfortunately, they weren't anything special. About an hour later, we both started feeling sick. That was the only thing we had. We likely won't be back. We like supporting local, but disappointed after reading all of the good reviews and getting sick from the food. read more

However, it is a very nice little neighborhood market that has basically everything one might need for a meal. I admire that Murphy's works with the community to locally source many products (e.g. works with local fishermen and farmers, and with local businesses like Los Bagels and Brio). Nice that a neighborhood market is invested in well...the neighborhood. The grill and deli counter also serves up some tasty food. If you don't feel like cooking, they have quite a few hot food (e.g. burgers, hot dogs, rotisserie chicken, etc.) and cold cut options (e.g. sandwiches and wraps). I enjoy shopping here.

Oh my gosh so good! My hubby had the cowboy and absolutely loved it, I being the picky vegetarian that I am I had the Tony with no meat and add cheddar provolone and avocado and it was amazing ! Yum!! read more

I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.
