Lost Marble is a terrific addition to Manchester. I mean, it's a Vermont town so isn't a local beer brewery mandatory? Besides great beer, their pizze are really good, too. I've been here twice and each time, I've enjoyed both. First time, I ordered a Founder's Margherita-style pie and a flight of beers. I like dark beers so I ordered the Irish red, the Mexican dark lager, the Irish stout and the milk stout (see my photo). All were terrific! I really Liked the Mexican with its surprisingly smoky overtones and the Irish with its classic dark stout flavor profile. I ended up ordering a stout with which to accompany my pizza afterward. As for the pizza, it was very good! They have their own Neapolitan-style pizza oven and the pies are served in the traditional Neapolitan 12" size which keeps these pies from being soggy and floppy in the middle. The crusts were perfect! Also the sauce was very tasty and not overly-sweet nor too salty in the least. Additionally, the cheese was high-quality with just the perfect amount applied, too. Huge basil leaves also adorned the pies for that signature Margherita flavor. The service was prompt, efficient, friendly, polite and attentive. Only reasons for 4 and not 5 stars is their terrible chairs! They're those awful, trendy industrial-style ones that are uncomfortable as Hell (also, see pix)! I sat at the bar the first time and left before I wanted to due to having to shift around on the stool so much. The table chair was a bit better but not great. I seriously do not know why restaurants feature these horrible things. Also, it ain't cheap. First time there, nearly $60 for a flight, a beer and a pizza after tax & tip but hey, welcome to Manchester, VT. All in all, it's a great place and I'll definitely be back again for their delicious artisanal beer and very good Neapolitan-style pies. In the future I'll just be bringing a pillow for my bony butt, LOL! read more

First off, ask for Erin. She was an amazing server with extensive knowledge of the menu, the story behind the restaurant and able to articulate the beer and wine menu as well. My wife had their take Mac and cheese, I had their ribeye with truffle/parm fries. My wife raved about the Mac and cheese and my steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place. Food, atmosphere and service were all great. Came here for lunch with young kids(there were a fair amount of young kids this particular Saturday) and everyone loved the food. Half our group also got some of the beers on tap and had good things to say. We got the buffalo garlic and carolina wings. I always get wings when it feels like the thing to do and these did not disappoint. We also get the burger and cauliflower side, along with some mac n cheese and chicken fingers for the kids. Everything came out relatively quick. We all commented that we'd like to come back for the pizza in the future. My family has been coming to Manchester for 60 years. We were stoked to learn a brewery was coming to town. To say we were disappointed is an understatement... the beer is good, but the service is awful. I have come two times and somehow both times the service has been terrible, with waiters and waitresses being bossy and almost "corporate". This place had potential to be a cool funky true to Manchester brewery, but it's just a bunch of yuppies and suckers running a brewery into the ground. We were excited to try and support the new brewery in the area. Let's start with location and building. All great. Nice and easy to get to and the inside is great. We were in town for the horse show, so we were dining on Friday with a large group. We called ahead and when we arrived, we had a couple more people in our party than originally planned (3) - when asked if we could add a few chairs to the table, OR move a small table to our table, OR seat our additional people nearby, the host said, "this is why we ask the exact number of people. We're packed with reservations. I'll check." He did not check. He did not seem interested in our suggested solutions. Clearly, the hospitality industry is simply not for him, as there were many empty tables nearby and he has eyes and could people in our party were awkwardly standing around for quite some time. Finally, our server came over and said, "sure no problem" and moved a table. She was helpful and friendly, but the kitchen did her so dirty... I understand getting food out at the same time for 12 people is difficult and we totally understand and expect a delay, but food was brought out for one person and nothing else arrived for literally 20 minutes. The remainder of our order was mostly salads and pizza. They must have been waiting for the lettuce to grow and milking the cows for the cheese in the back or something. Some people were almost done eating while others had still not received their food. The location is great, plentiful parking, and it's clean and nice inside. All the french fries for the children's meals were stone cold. Yet when the adults burgers arrived on the table, all the fries were hot. Note to all restaurants : parents always eat a couple fries off their kids plates if the kids get served first, and they notice things like this. So when you put fries that unfortunately should be tossed out on a kids plate, we're gonna clock it. Don't treat our kids like second class Citizens. Burgers appeared to have been made with a vast amount of liquid smoke which frankly I thought had been outlawed. I could be wrong about this, but everybody agreed that's what it tasted like. To say it shortly the food isn't very good. The pizza is alright same as the fries, but everything is overpriced; and - considering the other options - this is not a great place to go. If you want beer and a drink at a lower price, see Mulligans or even the Chili's in Bennington. If you want good bar food at a better price, Haig's is across the road. Then there's the issue of the service and the ambiance. This is an ugly place in a location filled with really cute restaurants. And the service is pretty slow, also lackluster. I ordered a pizza and the chefs put onions on it even though it didn't come with it. I asked for them to make me one without onions, but they just took them off and even still left a few. What if I were allergic? generally, in Manchester VT, there is always a better place to go except maybe on Tuesdays. read more

If you are going out for beers and nothing else, this place would be ok. Went here last night for dinner and it was a complete disaster!! Let's start with the positives. Location looks great, Beer was good ( backcountry gold, sugarsstone), waitress was friendly and did her best with the bad hand she was dealt. We truely felt bad for her as she was visibly affected. Now the bad: we find out after seating that more than half the menu is not available, including all pizzas on their menu. We were told they didn't prep the dough. That's 8 items alone off a small menu. We did order 2 appetizers Nachos and pretzel. The pretzel was good and the nachos were ok. The menu on website shows 7 app items only 3 were available last night. When we did order dinner that's when we learned no pizzas and only dinner options were Lost burger, classic burger and the quarry chicken. (Only 2 out of 4 items listed on website) we finish our apps and order 2 more beers and after nearly an hour of waiting still no main course (4 burgers). We inquire and were told the kitchen is behind on the grill and it will be coming out momentarily. Meanwhile people seated and ordered after us all got their dinners (burgers) before us. The after another 5-10 mins we finally get our burgers. All burgers came out cold. Burger 1:Lost Burger sautéd onions were ice cold burger overcooked and cold, Burger 2:Classic ordered Rare(Stressed Rare) came out cold and well done; Burger 3: Classic burger Med: came out cold and was med well to well; Burger 4: Lost Burger Med rare: again cold and over cooked to med- med well. We did not eat any of it. Our Waitress was mortified and did take dinner and apps off the bill which was more than needed to do. So bottom line is go for a beers and avoid the food. In my opinion the Kitchen staff needs to go if they can't even handle the menu especially when a majority of the menu was not available. read more

Food was terrible all around, really disappointed. Been wanting to go here since they opened because of how nice the building looked, I imagined it would have great food and service. Felt like a glorified school cafeteria you'd find on a state college campus. They went above and beyond with the building but the food and ambiance was dead, place had no spirit and food was very very low quality with no flavor. Food was fine, the service was ok, but how they give the bill is not good. They do not give you a bill to look over then pay. The waitress brought the card reader to pay and I had to ask for the receipt to check that everything was alright after the fact. It could have been an off night because they only had 2 servers and the place was packed but the service was terrible. It was not packed when we got there. I ordered the Bartholomew pizza. I think there were only 4 slices of fig on the whole pizza. I found only one slice that actually had prosciutto on it. Pretty bland. We had to ask for water, twice! Finished our meal and waited at least 15 minutes before I finally had to go FIND our server and ask for the bill. Server was not friendly or attentive. Started out ok but went downhill fast. We live in town so this was our second time there. First time was not bad. The lack of service and attention made this time horrible. Will probably not go back. Unfortunate. read more

Our experiences continue to be so positive here. Great food and beer, obviously and staff. Establishment is such as asset for the area. One suggestion: Understanding this is a brewery...but since you do offer wine, would be nice to have a red wine like Merlot or something with a bit more body than Rose or Pinot Noir. This was SUCH a disappointment. The vibe of the place is great but the food was just awful. Ordered a giant pretzel, which was fine, but the pizza was a burnt-crust, soupy mess. We let the server know and they sent a second pizza, which wasn't really much better than the first. The crust was too thin and they used too much sauce, too little cheese, and all of it just pools in the middle while most of the crust was black. The harvest salad was gross--I added shrimp, so for $28 I got a tiny plate of kale with "seasonal fruit" (dried cranberries) and a literal smear of goat cheese on the bottom of the plate (could not have been a less appealing presentation), no farro to be found, and a tasteless dressing. Both had burgers that were cooked to perfection. The French fries were just mediocre, which I did mention to our waitress. Lost marble brewery is a great addition to Manchester. And overall a great brewery for Vermont. I tried three different IPA beers, and a lager on one of their flights samples. Can honestly say every single one was exceptional. As a self proclaimed beer connoisseur their beer is top-tier. The building is brand new and looks to be built very well. Huge space. But very inviting . The food was great. Got the clucking quarry chicken sandwich. Delicious. Service was also outstanding. Quick to greet you. Quick to come ask what your needs are and what you would like to drink. And no waiting once your beer was done to them ask you if you would like another one. Overall, this was a great experience.
