While the draft list was not extensive, it included several unique options that are likely to please many beer enthusiasts. I got the Strawberry Rhubarb sour and it was fantastic! Not too sour and a delicious flavor. My boyfriend tried the Chester Dark Lager and really enjoyed it. There was also an IPA and Lager on tap as well. The space itself is small - about four seats at the bar and four other seats near the front windows. If it's busy, it could be difficult to find a spot but definitely don't skip it. You'll likely find a beer you really enjoy and have a great conversation with the owner. Also, when Sweet Lou's Restaurant is open, which is directly upstairs, you can order food and enjoy it in the tap room. Highly recommend a visit to the Turtle!

I know to go early on weekdays because of the huge crowds on weekends. In the past, the pizza has been surprisingly very good with an incredible beer selection. That had been true until a couple of weeks ago when our small group had 2 pies. In the past, the sauce has bordered on excellent. This time the sauce was inconsistent and mediocre at best. The pie's crust also was a bit less crispy than in the past. The beer selection fell far short of my previous experiences here. They are known for their great selection of IPA's, but this time I couldn't find one close to former experiences with a fruit forward, easy and enjoyable drinking IPA. There wasn't the standard Julius on tap - sacrilege- or any IPA with a similar profile. The DIPA I tried was okay but below their standards IMHO. I will definitely give it another shot, but I hope this was just an off week.

I've been here twice and each time, I've enjoyed both. First time, I ordered a Founder's Margherita-style pie and a flight of beers. I like dark beers so I ordered the Irish red, the Mexican dark lager, the Irish stout and the milk stout (see my photo). All were terrific! I really Liked the Mexican with its surprisingly smoky overtones and the Irish with its classic dark stout flavor profile. I ended up ordering a stout with which to accompany my pizza afterward. As for the pizza, it was very good! They have their own Neapolitan-style pizza oven and the pies are served in the traditional Neapolitan 12" size which keeps these pies from being soggy and floppy in the middle. The crusts were perfect! Also the sauce was very tasty and not overly-sweet nor too salty in the least. Additionally, the cheese was high-quality with just the perfect amount applied, too. Huge basil leaves also adorned the pies for that signature Margherita flavor. The service was prompt, efficient, friendly, polite and attentive. Only reasons for 4 and not 5 stars is their terrible chairs! They're those awful, trendy industrial-style ones that are uncomfortable as Hell (also, see pix)! I sat at the bar the first time and left before I wanted to due to having to shift around on the stool so much. The table chair was a bit better but not great. I seriously do not know why restaurants feature these horrible things. Also, it ain't cheap. First time there, nearly $60 for a flight, a beer and a pizza after tax & tip but hey, welcome to Manchester, VT. You also need to know that it will be one of the best cider experiences you've ever had due to the uniqueness of the product and location. They specialize in cider that is aged in spirit barrels - everything from Scotch to gin to tequila to rum and everything in between. As a result, most of their ciders are still and have no carbonation. They do, however, have a few carbonated ciders. When I visited, my boyfriend and I each had a flight of four, which came with a tasting glass for $12. It was a great way to try their different offerings. My favorites were the Cranberry Crisp carbonated cider and Cidre de la Porte, which is a carbonated cider aged in Port wine barrels. They also have several cocktail specials that use their ciders. We were greeted by one of the owners, who explained everything they had to offer and brought us out on their spacious deck. There were so many seats outside that overlooked their small apple orchard and property. We were the only ones there at the time, and it was so incredibly peaceful. This cidery is a hidden gem that I hope more people discover - especially with the amazing fall weather coming up!
