My car had NOT been touched & I had only seen three cars come through the machine. I was told this was a reasonable wait time - mind you they had not even STARTED!!! I asked for my money back so I could leave. The unpleasant woman at the register told me, "no" very rudely and as if I were a child. I tried to locate a manager. NO ONE is in charge at this place! No one would help me. Because I said I didn't have all day to have my car washed I was insulted to have them say to me - "You must be from Dallas or Houston. Things don't work that way here." I happen to be from a small town, but regardless NO customer should be spoken to that way. I was told someone would call me about the poor service. I have been going to Lost Pines Full Service for years. They are very friendly and courteous. I have my oil changed there regularly. I usually get the Silver wash which includes armor all on the tires. They do a good job, if I notice some missed detail work, they are always willing to correct it. read more

I have visited this Car-wash business twice in the last two months. The first time I tried it, it didn't end with good results. My truck barely looked like it when through a wash. I chalked it up to it was a busy day and the were rushed and figured I just won't come on a busy day again. My second visit which was on 04/29/2015 was even worse than the first time. This time the weather was perfect, considering all the rain we have been getting. The weather is expected to be very nice (no rain) for about a week. Their staff was extremely undermanned. I waited about 7 minutes just to be asked what wash I would like to get. Then it took over 30 minutes just for my truck to be cleaned inside and brought into the wash area. Now I'm sitting at around 37-40 minutes already and there were only 7 vehicles total ahead or behind me at this point. After my truck rolled through the wash line, which took about 5ish minutes which is normal, it was auto pushed via their roller system out of the line where it went over two speed bumps and kept rolling until a worker came running over thinking it was going to hit something. I too jumped up thinking the same thing. the worker then left my truck there for 7-8 minutes as the water that was left on it was left to dry in the sun. Sweet, I get free water spots with this wash? They finally moved my truck under the shaded canopy to finish detailing it. Then two other vehicles were brought there. Those vehicles were worked on ahead of mine despite mine being ahead of them in line. I get some vehicles might get ahead, no big deal, I'm not worried about that when it was only two vehicles. After waiting another 10 minutes I finally decide to go out and look at the truck thinking maybe I missed something and they were done. Nope. That wasn't the case. After looking at my truck and seeing the front and some of the sides were filthy dirty, I asked one of the workers about it. I simply asked if my truck was done. The gentleman said he wasn't sure but he'd see if anyone worked on already. Ok, seems legit. He came back and said "no they haven't finished it." I said, "Sir, I can't wait, it's been over an hour and my truck barely looks like it's been cleaned. My 12 year old could have done a better job with the wash." He said he could spray my front end with Windex and clean it. OK HOLD ON....he wanted to spray Windex on my rhino-lined bumper, painted hood and grill?? Non of that is glass. If you don't know what Windex is, it's "Glass Cleaner with Ammonia-D". That's is straight from the Windex bottle. I don't trust that on anything but glass, thank you. That's just my opinion. I told him, "Yeah you aren't spraying that all over the front end of my truck." After that I decided to leave. I didn't want to talk to a manager, because by now it's been over an hour and I was getting agitated and border line pissed off. All in all, I spent over an hour and $35 on the crappiest vehicle wash I've ever seen. I even had to pay an extra $2 for my vehicle being a truck. I'm not sure where that $2 went, but it definitely didn't go towards my truck. Look, I get the undermanned part, mostly because the weather has been rainy and in that business makes and brakes off the weather. All management had to do was look at the weather forecast to see it is expected to be high in the low 80s, mostly sunny, with zero chance of rain for the next 5 days. If I was the manager there, it's not hard to think that with the weather being awesome after a few weeks of rain, maybe I should bring extra folks in to help. But then again, what do I know?? The other reason I didn't want to talk to a manager, is because there would be NO WAY I'd let that place wash ANY of my vehicles again. If I can keep others from going there and wasting their money, I hope I can. Just because you are under staffed doesn't mean you have an excuse for piss poor quality. Then again, maybe their motto is "Quantity of Quality"?? I can't believe this place gets repeat business. I'll even take a step back and look at it from, "Maybe they do cars great and they just absolutely suck as washing trucks?" That might be the issue. So if you don't have a truck don't go there. But if they charge extra for a truck, then you'd think they could still do a DECENT job at washing it. My truck isn't all jacked up with a lift and huge tires. It's a Tundra Crew Max with normal height. If I could I'd give this place a negative star! After looking at other review sites, I'm not the only one with this opinion. Extremely upset. I saw the sign for $10 off full service so I stopped in. Got my ticket and walked up to the front to find out you only get $10 off if you got an oil change. It was too late to change my service so I sucked it up and paid a ridiculous amount of $35. I got in my car and it looked great, until I realized that I paid $35 and didn't even have clean windows. We went to get two of our vehicles inspected on two different occasions and both times we were told that the DPS inspections system was down all over the state of Texas. We went across the hwy to MainLane 2 minutes later on both occasions and they were able to do our inspections right away and said DPS system had not been down at all. Even though we have been going to Lost Pines for nearly 7 years they clearly no longer want our business, so we'll be taking it elsewhere. read more

I was checking reviews, looking for a car wash/detail place. I see this place hasn't changed since the last time I was here, about 2013. I came here twice back then. Same problems as I have been reading here - paying for extra services, even pointing out specific areas , and ending up with not even the basic service! Inside was barely touched. Now, I don't mind waiting for extra work. I don't mind paying for extra work. But I expect that work that I paid for to be done. I gave them 2 chances, that's it. (And I did not tip!) Just moved to the area and needed my oil changed and a car wash. Lost Pines was perfect because they can do both, one stop shop. I started with the oil change that was nice and quick. I LOVED that they didn't come and talk about my air filter, belts, fuel filter, and all the other stuff that some other oil change places do. They changed my oil and charged a fair price. That's what I wanted, that's what I got. I happen to go on a Wednesday. You get a discount on your car wash on Wednesdays, my truck was filthy, perfect match! Well, here is where they lost a star in my review. It took forever, even though they weren't that busy. The waiting area is nice, bathrooms are clean, and they even have some cute items for sale in the "gift shop". When I got my car (which I had already paid for, with tip), I was so ready to get out of there (75 minutes and counting) that I got my car keys and left. When I got home, I noticed that it was clean, but not perfect. It was worth the wash with the discount. But if I had paid full price, I would have been very disappointed. read more

I have tried to give this place a try over and over again hoping they will get it together. After several bad washes that looked like it had been done lazily, I went in to try their service center. I pulled up and was told the service center gentleman would be with me shortly. They pointed at the guy who was talking to another customer. So I waited. 5 minutes went by, then 10, then 12. Finally at the 15 minute mark, I rolled down my window only to hear this conversation with the other customer was about deer hunting. They had been standing there talking about deer hunting while I waited for him to come over and ask what I needed done. I was livid! Needless to say, I pulled out just as he saw me leaving and asked "What is it you need?" I said "No thanks! I should have read the reviews before I went to this place! I've ben twice, thinking I would give a second try. They don't clean well (still had bugs on my hood and other items were not clean), they tack on extra prices ($2 because I have a small SUV), and the manager was not the friendliest..........I asked him some questions and it was obvious I was annoying him by doing so. I called Toyota and they are the same price, $29.95 for the special PLUS they do NOT charge an extra $2.........PLUS they do a WHOLE LOT MORE!! For the same price, Toyota cleans the inside windows, and other things that LOST PINES does not.........plus they are MUCH more friendly! I will definitely be going there next time!! read more

I have never spent nearly $65.00 on auto detailing only to leave feeling like I could have done a better job at home! I paid for a Scott's special which included a Gold Package and one additional specialty service. I chose the leather conditioning. When I got in my car, I found the center console just as filthy as it was when I left it. They stated that they could not move any items from the console since it was considered a location that personal property is kept. Not even a quick wipe down! The dash was not wiped down, there was dog hair still on the carpet. There was dirt on the entry of the driver and passenger sides. There was an excuse for that too. My leather conditioned seats were sticky with conditioner, I was concerned to have anyone sit on them. Another excusse...The outside was just as bad with bugs and other spots remaining at the bottom rear of my vehicle. Yet another excuse. Every item I asked about was part of "another service" Really $65.00 and I don't get to leave with a clean vehicle??? I have never felt so nickel and dimed in all my life. read more

I have tried this place twice, the first they took about 1 hr! the place was not super busy, so I assumed they were cleaning my car extra carefully. Wrong! Interior was not "wiped" down at all and they must have dried it with a dirty towel? OK, so I thought the first experience was just a fluxe, so I tried them again several months later, the second time, same thing! I had to tell the young lady to at least wipe the console before I drove off. The bottom line, they are VERY SLOW and VERY EXPENSIVE!! I don't think they hire "professionals" as it may. So I went there to get an oil change and a car wash before it was crowded yesterday morning. Only two people ahead of me, took over 2 1/2 hours. I asked them to check engine air filter and cabin air filter. When the young man came over to show me the cabin air filter - it was so torn up that it HAD to be replaced. Even the lady behind the counter kept asking me how long I had been there as other people came and went and finally, when my car was given to me, there was a part sitting in the passenger front seat and I had to ask them where on earth did this come from - they went over and got someone from the oil changing station to put it back on. The first time that I went to them my SUV came out of the wash with the tire losing air and I had to rush over to a tire place to get it repaired. I will NOT be back to this place. read more

Yesterday oct 3 I took my jeep in to lost pines car wash in Bastrop and I chose the 34.99 car wash. They brought it out about a half hour later. After looking it over I asked if this was a joke. It looked as if someone had run a garden hose over it and brought it out as if it had Ben washed. There were patches of dirt all over it. I told the manager to look the jeep over and tell me if he thought this was an acceptable job and he said he could wash it again. I was so upset I did not want them touching my car again The next day I called to talk to the owner and the receptionist refused to give me his name. 2nd time at this car wash and will be my last. after paying 26.95 plus $2 more for pick-up w/topper the wash didn't even take the bugs of front of pick-up. When I mentioned to attendant I was told they did the best they could. I pointed out that there were bugs on headlights and on the back of my mirrors and all I got was a shrug of shoulders. Don't waste your money here. Drive to Austin if you want a full service wash. BTW My 1st expireance was just as bad but after talking to a supervisor and the cashier lady behind counter I was assured that my next visit would be better. Just left Lost Pines Full Service at 8am. When I pulled in I was the first one in line, nobody was ahead of me. I was thinking "Great, I should be able to get out of here quickly." The sales guy told me that my coupon was for cars and because I had a truck it was $2 more, and tried to get me to upgrade my package (which is expected). The coupon was for $10.99 and after the upcharge for a truck $12.99. For that you get a exterior wash and an interior vacuum. Well after about 30 minutes of wondering why the whole entire car wash was at a stand still I started looking out behind the building where my truck was parked and noticed several people milling about doing basically nothing. As I paced the floors inside the building my eyes started burning from the odor of stale cigarette smoke coming from who knows where. The prices are way too high and the service is slow and very poor. They finally got my truck into the automatic car wash then out front. There were several missed places on the exterior and the vacuum job was terrible. My floor mats were not put back in the right spot, nowhere even close, the driver side was on the passenger side and passenger mat was on the driver side and upside down. It seems like they should be experienced enough to get that part right. I will just go ahead and wipe down the rest of the outside myself and next time just wash my truck myself or go to Austin where you get what you pay for. I have had mixed thoughts about this business. Each visit is a different experience. I was helping my mother out with her vehicle and was getting it inspected to then go to the county tax office for registration. Other than having to drive my mother to a local eatery nearby then having to go back to 304 and do a u-turn to get back was the biggest hassle. They were able to inspect the vehicle while I walked over and was able to get something to eat in peace. When I returned after eating the vehicle was ready to go and away I went. This visit was one of the better visits and I'm pleased. read more

I came to this location because it was the closest state inspection station in Bastrop county and I had been at work all night. I got there 45 minutes before they open so I park and wait. About 30 minutes later, another car pulls in and parks adjacent to me, also waiting. 20 minutes after employees have arrived, one attendant walks toward our waiting cars and yells "Who was here first?". I waved at him, but I look over and see the other lady wildly dancing and waving at him, so they usher her in. 30 minutes later, somebody finally takes my car into the shop and I head to the waiting room. Another 20 minutes later, the same attendant pops thru the service door and says I'm all set to checkout. He hands me my card receipt and says "Oh, by the way, your car didn't pass inspection.". Floored, I asked what exactly I just paid for? He brings the manager out who, as condescendingly as possible, walks me to my car, points at the engine grime on the lines around my windshield washer and power steering reservoir, and says "That looks like you got yourself a power steering leak, which is why you failed. You can go ahead and wipe that grime off and come back within 14 days and we'll give you a sticker." Really? Nevermind the fact my car has never had any power steering issues. They obviously just don't care that they're clearly making my life harder with their "service". 2 hours after my initial arrival that morning, I shredded my receipt and went to a familiar place on main street in Elgin, where my car passed inspection with no changes made. These jerks are just in business to line their pockets and have no concept of customer service. read more

Poor service. The lady that checks you out does not have any customer service skills at all whatsoever! She is rude, crass and it's unfortunate. Don't know her story but when I took our vehicle with a coupon from HEB she clearly got pleasure out of telling me it wasn't valid on the wash I got. Fine. Then when my husband took our vehicle back there (after me warning not to do so), she got all crotchety with him because she asked if he wanted to add a tip and he said he would tip at the end AFTER he saw what kind of job they did. I mean that makes sense to me. Unfortunately we never felt it was a great wash, or got our vehicle very clean so we won't be going back. As a woman, I have a lot of individuals try to overcharge me on basic automotive fixes. The gentlemen here are honest, and will not lie or upcharge you, and honesty like that is incredibly commendable. I recommend them highly! In Austin, I was given a quote of $250 for an transmission flush and state inspection. Lost Pines did it for $120. Ladies, this is the place to go, don't let the other places take advantage of your wallet! read more

They ran cars through the wash that drove up after me and when I complained the manager couldn't be bothered to speak to me. Once I finally got my car, it was still covered in dead bugs, my armrest was soaking wet, my windshield and mirrors were streaked and filthy, and the back of my SUV was not vacuumed, the window not cleaned, and the door jam was filthy. Read most of the reviews, I agree pretty much with everyone in the fact that the staff is rude and just don't really care at all with customer service. Paid for the forty buck wash and it was horrible. Had to send it back because they didn't even vacuum it. Didn't think a whole lot of all signs stating how they were not responsable for a long list of things that could happen, first on the list is they aren't responsable for theft. Thought this was a little strange till I finally gave on getting my truck cleaned and left. When I was back on the road I noticed that brand new $35.00 cap was gone. The signs made more since, their employees can take what they want and not have to worry about it. Tried three times to give this place a chance and it was horrible and so were the people working there even giving a nice tip at the end each time... I'll admit, one time, a long time ago there was an issue(s) with a detail job that was anything but. I swore I'd never go back, I was so upset with the service and whoever it was that was in charge that day. That being said, I believe in second chances, as well as trying to support locally owned businesses. The Service dept. has always been great and at this time, my 6 & 2.5 yr old boys had just about trashed my wife's '09 CRV about as much as any parent would expect ... but worse!!! So, I got on here and read the reviews. What, 32/6(?) reviews and most seemed to be unhappy campers. However, I KNOW they have WAY more people come through there than 32/6(?) a DAY and the most recent post was a 5 star review that mentioned a man by the name of David, who was especially helpful. So, we decide to go for it, as the car was THAT bad! We dropped it off for the day for a complete service and then a wash, with most importantly, a serious detail job including shampooing the carpet and upholstery. Naturally, I sought out "David" on that side of the business to go over what we were wanting and expressed our commitment to supporting local businesses and in spite of these reviews, we wanted to give them a chance to prove they can and are better than some of these other folks experiences imply. I would imagine it is quite difficult in that line of work, as far as retention and quality employees that give 100% to every detail of every car that comes through their doors. I do believe, that an emphasise to each and every employee, every morning, that they should wash, detail, dry, etc. EVERY vehicle that comes through there as if it were their own or better yet, their own mother's car!!! But, let's face it, Texas summers can take the best of us down! Anyway, David was very professional and thorough in going over the car and what we wanted done. He found some other things we did not even think about and told us he would take care of these at no extra charge as they were not so bad as to "need" these extra detail touch ups but he wanted to just give these things more "life" for us! The quote, indeed did not reflect extra charges for what all was done to my wife's car! When we went to pick up the car around 5:30 with both boys, after another day at the 'cole mines' for all of us, and none of us were in a great mood! Of course, my wife and I still had many more things left to do, not even counting our "Parent List"! I stayed in the truck with the boys (and scored a $20.00 empty oil drum for a fire barrel:-) all fidgety and fighting like car seat restrained children are prone to do, especially while not "rolling". Seemed like hours for me but was not really THAT long, as I could see David pointing and looking over everything they did with my wife to her '09 CRV. After waiting for that, and paying out, we just headed straight to the house ... without really talking, just hand signals to keep things moving. We got home and I kid you not, she got out of her car with the BIGGEST smile on her face, like a kid on Christmas morning!!! "OMG! This car is cleaner than when we drove it, brand new, off the Honda lot in '09!" ... "I swear they had to have used Q-tips and toothpicks to be able to get to and clean everything this well!" ... "I thought the seats and carpet were ruined!!" ... and on and on, even making the comment "Maybe we should just sell it now, because it has never looked this good before!" (kidding of course :-)! Sure enough, after I went through it looking for anything missed or not done as well as it should have been ... there was NOTHING missed! The car was indeed cleaner than I had ever remembered it being! Consoles, panels, glove box, dash, doors, cup holders, EVERYTHING ... was cleaned even better than I had hoped! I am glad I trusted my instincts and gave them a second chance to prove that they do actually care about their quality of work, as well as their customers leaving happy with the service they received, as to earn the loyalty and repeat business of small town customers!!! Horrible service! How they stay in business I'll never know. Just wish I had read reviews before blowing hard earned money on silver package plus I gave a tip, boy that was stupid. The wait was forever and as I watched the kid wipe my car down and he just kept looking around and yawning. Well he was doing a half --- job and taking forever so I walked over and asked someone else to take over. Well the new kid at least was trying but when he was done I inspected vehicle and couldn't believe what I found. For starters you call this vacuumed , I don't think so. I had the kid re-vacuume which was a joke because he couldn't get the shop vac to work right. I went in and had the manager look at my truck and he clearly didn't give a darn but he told the kid to take care of it. Now the kid was nice enough but he half --- wiped down the dashboard and like I said the vacuumed job was a joke. Wow what can I say other than I feel ripped off and they wasted my time! I really hate leaving bad reviews for any business but this place deserves it. I've taken my vehicles here for many years. Never receiving "great" or even "good" results when I've gone, I still continued to go because I try to be loyal to local small or family owned businesses. That has come to an end with this place. Like many people, my husband and I work very hard for our money. To have to spend $30+ on something that is nothing close to a car wash/cleaning is ridiculous. The last time I went here, I needed my vehicle cleaned before a last minute trip that I was taking that same morning. I was in a bit of a hurry so rather than going to to it myself, I took my vehicle here. There were only about 3 or 4 vehicles in front of me. Somehow, it took them 1.5 hours to get my vehicle into the wash. When it was "finished", it looked nearly the same as before it went in. There were dirt streaks all over the outside and the inside hadn't even been vacuumed. My windows were dirtier than before I went in! I could hardly see out of my windows. I don't know if they were using dirty rags or if it was just pure laziness? I complained to the older lady at the front desk and she was extremely rude and told me "well if you are sooo unhappy I guess we can do it again, but you are gonna have to wait because we have other people in front of you." I was so turned off by her bad attitude and demeanor that I told her no thank you and expressed how I would never go back there again. Her response was "OK!" with a big smile on her face. I've never ever known of a business who treats their customers like this and take pride in doing so. Needless to say, they've forever lost customers in my husband and I for good. And from the looks of SO MANY other reviews online, their treatment of customers, lack of customer service, bad work ethic, and terrible business practices are nothing new to this place! When I got into the car it had only been partially vacuumed as I found food still there from my toddler under the seats and rug, there was still a bag of garbage on the front seat that they didn't bother throwing out, they didn't bother wiping the seats down (there was food and dried milk still present), the dash had not been wiped down ( i know for a fact b/c I had my car inspected somewhere else and there were bits of the old sticker on the dash still), the windows were half done, and the exterior had spotting from the wash. I could have done a better job if I had done it myself and it would have been cheaper. Needless to say I will never be back and I will not be suggesting to anyone to go there. I wish I had read the reviews because if I had...I would have never given them my business. They would have had a regular customer if they had actually cleaned my car. Your loss. read more

Wow, this place is a complete joke! Paid for an upgraded car wash and that included conditioning my leather seats. My dad went the week prior and got the basic wash and it was pretty clean so I figured for $74 my car would look REALLY clean...not the case at all! When I went to look at the truck when they were done there was still dust streaks in places on the exterior that they had excuses for. Then to the interior which literally was left untouched other than a less than decent vacuum job. I mean the mats still had dust and stickers on them, nothing had been wiped down in the inside, there was still gunk in the cup holders and dirt on all door panels. I'm usually not a person to be super picky, but this was RIDICULOUS!! And the worst part was when I looked at my seats there was still some dirt on them (I later wiped off easily) and they claimed they conditioned the seats which was a complete lie! How this place stays in business, I do not know because their customer service horrible! The "supervisor" seemed so anoyed with me asking them to actually wipe down my truck he only said about 2 words the whole time. Please save your time and money and go across the street to HEB because you're better off doing it yourself. read more

EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE and Granny are driving away customers. After waiting 30 minutes and not seeing my car or the one in front of me vacuumed, I asked the old lady at the front desk for a refund. I was passing through town and still had 4 hours of driving in front of me. She indicated they don't do refunds. But I was running short on time and they hadn't even started cleaning my car yet! She told me to ask the guys outside how much longer it would be. 30 mins they told me "at the earliest". I would be waiting more than 1 hour for a car wash at this point. The guy agreed to a refund and pulled my car to the front. Went back inside and told Granny I was getting a refund. She argued with me and gave me a lecture on no refunds. I told her they never disclosed it would be an hour plus wait when I pulled up (I wouldn't have even stayed!). I finally looked at her and said if I don't get a refund for the service that was never performed that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company because THEY DIDNT EVEN PERFORM A SERVICE. Grandson came back in and okayed the refund and then started to try to make ME feel guilty for not wanting to wait over and hour and said they were short staffed and its bc Bastrop is a small town. Short staffing is not my problem. He told me I was car #7 inline. I told him I was #2 in the 2nd driveway. Any other full service wash, they have lines that run independently of one another. To me, I was second in line, and car in front of me wasn't even being serviced yet. I reminded him he didn't even indicate the length when I pulled up. Then Granny told me I was acting "irrational" by "threatening" her with my cc dispute. Excuse me? You were refusing to give me a refund for a service you weren't providing and I was leaving either way. That's stealing, you fool!! Anyone who expects customers to wait an hour plus for a darn carwash and not be irritated IS irrational. It's blatantly obvious that they are losing money fast and are desperate to keep a buck. I see this place closing soon as long as they keep granny at the front desk lecturing people. I was livid when I left. I created this yelp account just to write this place a review. I see why they are short staffed. If Granny treats her employees like she does her customers, I'd give her the middle finger too and quit. read more

Started getting my oil changed there. i always did it myself on all my vehicles because I usually got burned by incompetent labor doing something wrong. I decided I would give them a try. They did several oil changes for me. I decided to do the next oil change myself. I found out then that my drain plug had been stripped out. In fact the thread from the hole flushed out into the drain pan when I removed the plug. I could normally screw the plug in handtight and then would snug it up. But this time the plug wouldn't run up by hand and also wouldn't tighten properly. Stripped. I contacted them immediately and talked to Frazier the manager. He told me to come in. They screwed a larger plug into the hole which is supposed to cut new threads. I was leery. I was told the leak was fixed. I drove to a gas station and filled up and then looked under my car which was leaking oil much worse than before. I brought it back and they tightened it some more. I was pretty much blamed for the stripped plug even though I showed him the invoice for the last oil change they had performed. I'm also in their computer system showing having the last several changed done there. Bottom line is I now need a new oil pan. Gonna be expensive. I should have known better, but they won't see me again I promise you that. I also have quite a few relatives that used to get their oil changed there that will no longer go there. You do business with them in good faith, pay for their service and they damage your car and won't account for it. Bad! read more
