When my run flat tire ran flat on Good Friday I felt pretty helpless. Most small town shops were closed and I was 100 miles from home. I called the closest Discount Tire to me at the time. It was 5:55 pm and the store was 50 miles away. Kevin answered the phone and talked me through all the information he needed for my tire. Of course the tire had to ordered, BUT he found it nearby and assured me it would be delivered the next morning. He took his time talking to me and really made me feel less stressed. We got a hotel for the night and the next morning I had my car towed to Discount. It was the Saturday before Easter and it was busy! The tire had been delivered and even though I waited a couple of hours, they had me all set and on my way to our family get together by 2 pm. Everyone at this store, including Kevin, was courteous, professional and they were having fun while they worked. You could tell they liked each other and their jobs. I highly recommend this location. I purchased 4 new tires about 3 years ago and got the protection/warranty. I had a nail in one of the tires that couldn't be repaired so they replaced the tire at no charge. Since I purchased the tires here, it includes lifetime tire rotation/balance. During the rotation, they noticed another tire with a patch worn down to threads. So they ended up replacing both tires at no additional cost. I did pay for extended warranty for both tires ($35 each). I was helped by Junior and Elmer- very professional and quick. By the time I drove from Brenham to Bastrop I only had a short wait. The tire was not repairable due to the screw was in the sidewalk so I had to buy a new one. I was disappointed when I took my motorhome there, and they said they couldn't help me. They did call me back to say it was because of the size of the tires, not the psi. And so, just know that if you have the 22 inch tires, they can't service them. We always purchase our vehicle tires from Discount Tire, but we surprised to find out they did not work on bigger motorhomes. read more

I love discount tires. I've used a few different locations, all have been great. After recently moving to Elgin, Bastrop has become my new location. I've used them twice; once to replace a tire I got a screw in. And recently to replace the other 3 tires. Both times I was in and out, despite them being very busy. Tanner, who helped me most recently, was super helpful and honest about one of my tires still being in good shape. I had pre-bought my new tires online, and when I got there to have them installed he let me know that one was still in good shape. He could have easily not said anything, but instead, mentioned it AND came up with the idea for me to replace the 3 tires, and then use my old tire as a full size spare. Very thoughtful and practical idea in a day where it's rare to be so. Great place! A few tips, book your appointments in advance online, also avoid Monday's as they are very busy. read more

I have been a customer of Discount Tire for a VERY long time. I have always had wonderful service. After this interaction, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. They close at 6pm. I pulled in at 5:55pm.. now I know that is not an ideal time. I just needed air in one front tire. After being ignored for a few minutes.. a worker waived me in to the air station area... where I sat..for 15 mins. Then a different worker came and told me it's 6:15, we are closed. Every single worker saw me there. The worker that waived me in turned her back to me and started doing something on her phone. I realize at 5:55pm everyone is ready to go home but it was how I was ignored. They could have just told me from the beginning... hey, we close at 6 and we can't help you. To waive me in and then ignore me made me realize this location has 0 customer service. I saw a few workers standing around on their phones. It was a complete waste of time and something so small could have made my day. I left feeling really sad that people really don't give a shit... not just about their job but about people in general. I'd be in a heap of issues if it wasn't for Discount tire today. My Mercedes tire failed in a dangerous area. We hauled butt to discount tire and my son was with the car. My son sent me a picture of the police coming threatening to tow my car. There was such a long wait and I showed Zach the picture. I was almost in tears. One wheel missing on a heavy super car. Shout out to Paul who gave us the best customer service. The Hunstville Discount Tire total botched a tire repair. Our daughter had a screw in her tire and supposedly got it fixed after waiting a long time on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. And then on Wednesday after work she comes out to find the tire flat at 8 PM. They apparently did not really fix the tire. She wanted to come home for Thanksgiving but the shop was closed and would not be open until Friday. AAA put on her spare and she drove to Bastrop and we had to drive late night to pick her up so she could join the family for Thanksgiving. We took the car to Bastrop Discount Tire on Friday where Paul was already apprised of the situation and was ready to help. He looked the tire and decided to replace it instead of trying to fix the previous repair. My daughter was worried that she would have a mismatched tire because the Huntsville store said they don't carry that tire any longer. I drove in and asked for a spare tire & wheel to replace the cheapo that came with the new car. They mounted and balanced right there, threw it in my pickup and I went home. When I tried to put it in the spare tire spot on my car, it would not work because the center hole in the wheel was too small for the cable lift device. Returned to the store. I always go to discount tire i always purchase tires from there. I never had a issue until today, I sent my wife in to just check the tires life of one of our cars. The boy name Ian that helped her turned steering wheel looked at the tire and said " you need new ones". Recommended $500 tires sent her on her way.I said they should have scanned the tire, told you the tire depth, gave u a paper or email about the tires and tell you how much longer they recommend till new ones.He said he didnt know what she was talking about that he hasnt heard of that them sending a email or paper and " oo yeah u have like 1000miles left". My wife had to go back wait in line again( we had a appointment to btw) to finally get help from someone else name brodie ! I appreciate you brodie for actually scanning, sending a email about the tires, and treating my wife like a customer and doing what every location I have been to actually done. With the scan turns out the car still has 5-6,000 miles to go.... Great service! Stopped here while on a road trip to Austin after experiencing heavy vibrating while driving at higher speeds. Obviously no one wants to stop at mechanic while on a trip, especially in a town that you're unfamiliar with, but the gentleman who helped me was friendly, thorough with his assessment, provided updates on the progress, and got me back on the road as soon as possible. Turned out that I needed to have two tires replaced. Given that this occurred around midday on a Saturday, there was already several people, walk ins and appointments, ahead of me. All in all I only ended up waiting for about an hour and a half. They have multiple bays with several guys to staff each one making the whole operation very efficient. Today, I had a wonderful experience. I Iive 45 minutes from the store. I was told it would be 3.5 hours before my car would be ready. I said okay. They realized I couldn't leave. No the guy used my warranty and replaced tire and billed me for the same warranty. They are ripping people off. Just because one has a credit card at 29 percent interest rate. The store manager don't do nothing to redeem the bad customer service and pretty much sides with the rip off. Went today (11/18/2023) during their Black Friday sale. The Bastrop location was very busy. I thought I would be waiting for an hour or more to have the tire pressure monitoring system reprogrammed. I did call before I went and Paul said they had the capability to take care of this for me. Paul took great care of my car and the issue I had. I say "had." I went in on Wednesday. It was really annoying that after explaining my situation they tired to sell me a bunch of stuff instead of actually replacing the tire my car needed. When I got my car back the low tire pressure light was on and I thought it would go away later. It didn't go away. They changed my tiresthen rotated them. One of them had a nail.
