Pizza was good. Beer was cold. Kind of loud inside for trivia night but plenty of seating available out back.

On arrival we found when we got there that one couple inside seated at our table were waving to us but the windows are tinted so we couldn't see them. We saw another table arrive doing the same thing which brought a chuckle because we knew their friends could not see inside. We entered the building and there was no hostess to greet or direct us but the place is not that big so we were able to find the room our table was set up in. We had heard that martinis were a special for $5. I was all set to get a chocolate martini or some other flavor but when we got the drinks menu there was one Expresso Martini on the menu and I don't like coffee so I decided on a Long Island Tea. Others in the group had wine or beer. Price wasn't bad and we got a happy hour discount. There was a red pepper soup served as part of a meal-or salad and 6 of us had the soup, which was delicious. Tasted like an elevated creamy tomato soup and made you wish you had a grilled cheese sandwich to dunk in it. After our soup/salad there was a little wait for our entree's. The following report on the entrees found the grilled chicken salad with avocado, sliced almonds and feta Cheese was delicious with the chicken tasting like it was grilled on an open flame (maybe it was as we could smell char grill when entering the restaurant). The 4 lasagna eaters all agreed that it was very cheesy and lacking substance. They said you had to really dig deep through all most too much cheese to get to two layers of noodle and a little meat and sauce but it tasted good. They felt the online photo was misleading. The meatball sub was huge - like a foot long toasted bun with two very large meatballs, not something you could fit into your mouth but had to eat with a fork and knife. It was tasty. The spaghetti and meatballs and French dip had their plates cleaned and enjoyed their meals. The Nonas meat loaf was ok. I like my own homemade betterThe mashed potatoes creamy and I appreciated the ala dente fresh broccoli served with it. There was a comment that usually when you go to an Italian restaurant they serve you some bread but none was served here. My husband told me after we left that the chandelier right above me was caked with dust. Hopefully they have a spring cleaning coming up. The restroom was clean.

This year there was just a party of 6 of us so it was easier to give a food review. Everyone had wonderful meals that consisted of Linguine & Mussels, Tom's Pasta, Linguine $ Shrimp, and three of the bacon wrapped tenderloins with squash risotto which was a special for the night. A cannoli was ordered to go. Everyone reported that their meals were delicious. The three of us who had the tenderloin special were amazed and we agreed that it was just as good as what you get at a Ruth Chris Steakhouse but half the price. The steaks were topped with a screwer of 3 perfectly prepared steak and topped with an onion bourbon sauce. The squash risotto was perfectly prepared also. The cannoli was delicious, not too sweet. Our waiter was awesome and I wished we had gotten his name. He packed up all our leftovers and was knowledgeable about questions we had on the menu. He has great customer service skills. We look forward to visiting this restaurant again. They don't open until 5 pm Tuesday-Saturday. We visit the area 4-5 months a year so are limited to our visits. Wish they were open for lunches.

The parking lot and exterior facade of the building could mislead you - it ain't fancy - but once you get inside.....amazing. It is small-ish with not too many tables, so it's quaint and cozy. Their Italian food is amazing. Based on a trusted recommendation from my friend (who introduced me to this place!) I had the Grouper My Way - served over angel hair pasta. OMG, am I in heaven or what?!?!? It was sooooo good. And the bread?? I think it must come directly from Italy, LOL! Excellent. Had a lovely glass of Chardonnay to go with, and this experience made my week! I was there visiting a friend and had heard about TradeWinds for some time - was so happy to finally experience it! Our server Christian was wonderful. The service and the food is exemplary. You must try it out!! Be sure to make reservations in advance.

I ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu $29.99 and he ordered a $15.99 coconut chicken salad along with two diet cokes. When we got the check they had calculated the check with a 20% service charge. We asked what it was and was told it was 16% for her and 4% for the kitchen. Nothing based on the service or how good the food was an automatic 20%. No warning at all! As they were seating, another customer that server said have you been to the boathouse before and the customer said yes. So she stated you are aware of the service charge then. The customer said yes. Maybe us saying something about it is why she said that, not sure, but we were never informed and we've never had that explained to us before either.

NOTHING has changed. The food is just meh, bland!! The fish was over cooked and chewy, the vegetables that came with the entree were mushy. For $32 dollars the fillet of grouper I received was small, thin and as stated, over cooked. Did I mention the price? $32 for grouper with a little shredded crab meat on the top, vegetables and rice. 2 entrees, an appetizer, 1 mixed drink and 2 cans of beers. Yes cans. $130 dollars. They also charge an automatic "Service" charge of 20%. 16% goes to your server, and 4% goes to the kitchen. Sorry, tips are earned, they are not automatic. I generally do tip 18-20% anyway, but that is for me, the customer to decide, not the restaurant owner. I did find something good to say! Obviously, the location is nice and sitting on the deck is great. The hush puppies are also really good. But, outside of that. No thanks. Won't be back anytime soon, if ever.
