Ashland roll & spicy tuna roll
    Kate M.

I was not expecting to find such authentic and delicious sushi in Ashland. Delicious food! We each got the combo sushi meal it included:. Soup or salad, plus an appetizer (assorted egg rolls and dumplings) and then 1 regular and 1 specially sushi rolls. I'm highly impressed with the service, the selection and the quality here! Already making plans to come again. The menu is very inclusive. There are typical Chinese restaurant entrees, combos, sushi, and also seafood boils! We will be coming back again and again. 5 STARS!! THANK YOU.

Fish blood-soaked rice with shredded tuna

I felt compelled to leave a review, as what I saw the only time we ordered here was enough to leave with genuine health concerns about what they serve here. Do not order sushi. It's not fit to eat. I've eaten sushi all over USA and have never seen anything like I saw at Lotus. While I've never eaten "gas station" sushi, I can certainly guess what it's like after ordering here. The nigiri looked as if it were cut with a pair of kid's scissors, shredded and mangled. I ordered simple salmon and tuna nigiri and what arrived at the table was truly disgusting. I've included a few images below. When I expressed concern about the FISH BLOOD (?) on the rice under the sushi, I was told that it's normal, and was asked to pay for it?! I offered to pay for our drinks and appetizer but told the owner's teenage son, who apparently prepared the nasty fish they call sushi, that I wasn't paying for any of the fish. I'd suggest that folks simply avoid this place. Don't take my word for it, read some reviews from others. Lotus Chinese is no where to order sushi.

Weekend Lunch Review Quiet, tasty, but show... would go to again when in the area. Pan fried Pork Dumplings - nice thin dough, not commercial with an interesting sauce that was not the standard soy & sesame mix. Pecan Chicken - thin breading, super moist chicken with a nice sprinkle of candied pecans. Hunan Chicken - Crunchy veggies, moist chicken, moderate sauce... not too salty and not too spicy Both lunch portions were just the right size... and any item on the menu (except the most expensive specialties) can be turned into a lunch portion!

    Mongolian Beef lunch portion.

Went here for lunch with a coworker. They have a vast menu which includes sushi rolls. They have some great lunch deals so I ordered Mongolian beef with crab Rangoon. The meal size was pretty generous and everything was piping hot. The service was excellent. I'd recommend!

Not worth it ..had to tell the lady to change her gloves after playing with money .

Superb creative take on traditional dishes. The egg rolls and wonton soup are the best I've had.

It's like she would run away pretending they were busy becuase she knew there were issues . Bartender was good. About 4 other people eating at this time. About 6 other people at bar drinking . So bartender can handle 6+4 and all happy but kitchen, host, and server staff can't handle 9 people eating at once ? Kinda hard to run a restaurant like that. Maybe should try being a bar. Got 3 steaks all ordered medium . One was medium , one was well done, one was just burnt . The wagyu sushi was the most overcooked meat I have ever eaten. Was in Japan less than month ago and ate wagyu every day ; this was not Wagyu . Was not sushi . Was just scrap burnt meat piled in seaweed. This is not maki. The table was not set . For the pricing , I would expect the table to be set . Drinks were wrong and never refilled in a two hour dinner . This is a random small town, but based on pricing you'd see in Boston, Atlanta, New York - it is not the quality they are asking for . Especially not the service . Every menu item didn't match the descriptions Plating was well done , thats about the only compliment . Place is tacky inside , stairs to go to bathroom, weird temu valet light spinning at host stand , weird Star Wars stuff and other weird stuff mixed into decor . Kitchen looks angry , stares at you when you walk by Fish overcooked and dry McDonald's level cooking execution of what seem to be well made recipes , plated like fine dining , and in the setting of a dive bar , and prices of Morton's , and the taste worst than any restaurant I've eaten at on a 30 day road trip including chain restaurants . Need new FOH and BOH manager , and all new kitchen staff, need to redo decor and pick a theme, need to fix menus to match dishes , and get new servers . I mean that leaves almost nothing work keeping except the dishes , the presentation , and the bartender that were actually good and worth keeping

I opted for their Brooklyn with my wife and Mom decided on the Great Lakes Holiday Ale. The green beans arrived and we started munching on them while pursuing the menu. Their fried green beans are a delicious must have! We ordered our meals. We all got something out off our normal choices. I decided the Ike & Tina Tuna and my wife their Chicken Pad Thai. Mom decided on one of their specials, Dan's Special Noodles. Our Mel's came out relatively quickly. The noodle dishes were HUGE! All of our meals were extremely well prepared and delicious. We decided on splitting a piece of pumpkin cheesecake for dinner. Though seemingly smaller than the last time we had it, it was still delicious!

When we got sat, it took around 15 minutes for a server to greet us and when she did, the energy shifted. I understand people have bad days but the tip percentage is decided upon the quality of service. A bitter attitude and a lack of attention is not the usual expectation when dining out. When our appetizer arrived, disappointed accompanied it. The Bang Bang Shrimp has always been a crowd favorite; this time around it was burnt yet soggy pieces of shrimp. The sauce was enveloped by the taste of frying oil, causing the flavor to be bitter. By the time our entrees arrived, morale was at an all time low but the first bite of my roll made up for it. The Ichiban roll is unique- asparagus with spicy salmon and yellow tail may sound bizarre but it works. I've come to the conclusion that Sakana is purely a sushi restaurant. I have never been displeased by the quality and flavor of the sushi. Henceforth I will be ordering off the sushi menu and I recommend you do the same.
