The last time my review was generous. There must have been a change of ownership because this time the food was better as was the service. If I could go 3.5 stars I would have. My only real issue is the price value ratio. My order consisted of 2 soups a shrimp roll and egg roll for a total amount of $16.00. I get price increases but still thats a chunk of change. One item of note was a huge change in the appearance. The lighting has been updated to create a much brighter cleaner look. This was my first time here. I thought the place would be in a location that had parking. Unfortunately, it is in an area with only street parking and very little free. I had to travel around a bit to find a space. Although technically you can dine in, this is a take-out place. You place your order at the register and wait for them to prepare it. They were very business like, not rude, not friendly. Now for the food. I ordered cold sesame noodles. When I got it home with my order about 25 minutes later, the noodles were not cold and still a little warm. I guess that means the noodles were fresh, but they were not cooled enough. Flavor wise they were ok, nothing special. My second dish was beef with scallions. What I got was a dish that was 95% still crunchy and not cooked enough onions, 4.5% little bits of beef, and half a percent (or less) of scallions. This was not what I expected, and it wasn't very good. The place is quite a distance from home but I wanted to try something new. If it was good, I would go back even with the parking issues. I want to like this Place, it's convenient, not ridiculously expensive and occasionally... even good. Unfortunately the poor service and really bad attitude of the ladies in front make even the best dishes served taste sour. I went here a few times years ago and the mean older woman just turned me off. Then in a state of flu induced weakness I went for soup. The man running the front was so nice and empathetic. He suggested adding ginger to my soup and guaranteed a quick recovery. I felt better the next day and for a year I ordered here once a week or so. Great wonton, awesome bbq pork and veggies. Wasn't the best Chinese food but Westchester is severely lacking good Chinese if you hadn't noticed. My love affair here lasted a year before he no longer was in front and would wave from the back while making those awesome wonton. He had been replaced by a younger version of the old mean lady. Orders were handed out incorrectly, the price was never consistent. When I called the about an over charge, why was the mistake never in my favor, they would say sorry.. you get discount next time. I stopped bringing it up as the looks got nastier when I asked for my discount and guaranteed my dish to be wrong. I wish I understood what she yelled back to the cook. After my last experience of grease laden vegetables and bland food, even the wontons lacked flavor, I gave up. There are plenty of other mediocre Chinese restaurants around that at least treat the customers with a modicum of respect or even complete indifference, which is a step up from here. Save your time and go elsewhere. The Mexican/Peruvian place next door is worth visiting. read more

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Broccoli was so hard. Food was totally bland and my husband found hair in his food. I had to fight with them to get the money back for his meal but only after being made to bring it back. I have never had to bring the food back. Yes, it's your typical Chinese take-out, but, the food is always fresh and tasty! I've never had a bad dish from here. Service is friendly and they take serious COVID protocols too! I like that. We live nearby and have been ordering takeout from this place for years. Good chinese food is hard to find around here. While I wouldn't necessarily call their food good...it's not bad either. However, the service - or lack there of - is atrocious!! The woman who answers the phones and takes your order is a CON ARTIST. Do not believe a word she says when giving you the pick up time for your order. You will wait - as I have many times - for 20, 30, 45 minutes longer than when she told you! Last night we ordered dinner for our family at 6:00pm and were told to pick up at 6:30. Sounds reasonable, right? I showed up at 6:30 and knew there would be trouble when I saw EIGHT other customers all standing around looking annoyed. Well, 45 minutes and 3 unanswered questions about my order later, she handed me the last meal I will ever eat from this hole in the wall scam center. The food is a 5 out of 10 - at best. The service is ZERO. I sat there and listened to the woman take a dozen phone orders while I was waiting. She told every caller that the food would be ready in 30 minutes. IMPOSSIBLE LIES!!! Unfortunately this review will go from good to bad and remain there. We live 15 minutes away in White Plains and decided to try this place because we had been passing it for so long. Our first take out order was too good to be true! The food was fresh, hot and plentiful, not to mention delicious. After so many disappointments over the years with local restaurants we thought we had found our forever takeout place. Our second order Several weeks later, was just as good. I so loved our first order I decided to have it again A few weeks later. It was jumbo shrimp with eggplant and garlic sauce. Don't know what happened, maybe a different cook? But they Floured and deep-fried the egg plant in this dish. It was disgusting! If I didn't live so far away I would have driven back and returned it. I had ordered it twice before among many other dishes, and it was never floured and deep-fried. It truly was inedible.!!! I threw it away. Decided to try a different dish last week.. Among other things, we ordered sweet and sour chicken. I have never in my life been served sweet and sour chicken which was simply floured and deep-fried, along with plain sweet and sour sauce in a container. No pineapple, onions or green peppers in the sauce or with the dish. Basically just chicken nuggets with a side order of sweet-and-sour sauce. Not what I was expecting for nearly $12. After 2 major disappointments with very mediocre food, in contrast with two good experiences, we will not be returning . This is our go-to Chinese food restaurant. We've never had an order issue, prices are good and the food has always been excellent. The staff are kind and they work hard at trying to keep up their presentation despite being a small establishment. This place takes way too long and they lie about the wait every time. If my food is going to take a literal 45 minutes they should not be telling me to come pick it up in ten. The food from here made me sick tonight. I have been ill for two hours since I ate here. The staff was more interested in berating and belittling our complaints rather than refunding and or even being apologetic. I am seriously considering calling the health department to ask them to test what's left and find out what I inadvertantly picked up. I would not nor will I ever recommend this place again. I have eaten here for years and the food quality has slowly and steadily declined with the staffs harsh and abusive nature.
