I have been to my fair share of nail salons in my day & Lotus Nails is my favorite! I have only lived in the area for over a year and have tried 3 other salons in the Huntley/Algonquin area and was not impressed. I am so happy that I tried Lotus Nails and found this gem. Lily always does an amazing job, takes her time and listens to everything you want. She remembered my name after only 1 visit and is super kind, friendly and she is super accommodating with my 4 year old daughter who comes along with me. All of the employees are always very friendly & welcoming when you walk in. I also have had a no-chip manicure with Kenny as well & he did an amazing job!!! I was absolutely scammed at this place. They charged me $70 for a FILL of white chrome nails and I only had 2 broken off . The nails were bumpy and low quality too. I was charged 60 for a FULL set of black french tip nails 3 weeks prior for reference. The girl who answered the phone when my sister called was extremely rude and laughed at her. Low vibes and does not make new comers feel welcomed. I would NOT recommend going here. There is also a nail place near this one that my sister goes to called Posh nails. They only charge $35 for a fill there even if u have broken nails! I will now be going there after this AWFUL experience. read more

Previously, I came here with my daughter (she's a 3rd grader) for manicures and pedicures. She loved Hollie! First, I do like that they treat you like a person here. Lily always knows my name and is very kind and personable. Second, the prices are reasonable. However, the service is hit-or-miss. I always get a powder/gel fill but my nails will chip soon after every second or third appointment. I also got my first pedicure in ages, since I had foot surgery. While she did an excellent job, she made me feel humiliated about the condition of my feet and toes. It was also painful, made me bleed, and I was in tears from the entire experience. read more

She sat there without updates. The owner blamed another customer and took her lunch while my daughter (who also was hungry) waited until I texted the owner. Came here for the first time for manicures with my sisters. The staff was very nice and truly cares for their customers. The shop was clean and we were helped immediately (we did have an appointment). All three of us received "dip" manicures, and I was disappointed at the variety of color options for the dip, as well as the prices compared to other nail salons in the area. They're a bit higher as they charge for removal of existing polish which isn't something I'm used to. Overall great job I just wish there was more of a selection of colors and no charge for take off of existing polish. read more

My sister was completely scammed today at Lotus nails. She went in for a fill today at 5pm with Lisa. When she got there Lisa was just beginning on another full set so she was placed with someone else who she had not requested. She was charged 70$ for a acrylic FILL with white chrome (regular polish) (She payed 60 for a full set with V line french 2 weeks prior and was told a fill would be $45) She is new at getting her nails done and this was only her second time going. She was nervous to confront about the absolute robbery that had occurred because she is new at this so I politely called assuming there must have been some error, and felt very attacked on the phone by one their fellow employees. I was laughed at,spoke to in a very conceited tone, and even HUNGUP ON. It was extremely unprofessional. If you are looking for somewhere to affordably get your nails done, I would recommend Posh Nails off route 47 I personally go there and am only charged $35 for a fill. read more

I have been going to this salon for over 8 years and I have to say that in most cases once you are in a chair for service the results are good. They do have a friendly staff and you can see that they care about their work. With that being said, as of late the several times I have made an appointment ( not a walk in ) I had to wait 25 minutes or more before they assign you to a table and still had to wait a bit before they got to you. They over book and even though you made an appointment your treated like you just walked in so you have to wait. I don't mind waiting for a bit and never expected for them to take me immediately even though I made an appointment, but waiting 25min or more is unacceptable. I worked in the service industry so I understand that not everything can be in an exact timeline, but the wait is too excessive especially since it has happened to me several times in a row at this salon. I asked if there would be a long wait the last time I was there and the owner responded with a snide response which surprised me and made me immediately frustrated. I walked out bc I did not want to make a scene by responding to him in front of the other clients and that was the deciding factor for me to not ever return. read more

Not too much craziness going on. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and a few minutes passed before Hollie took care of me. She did exactly what I wanted in nail shape and color. I liked Hollie a lot because we just clicked. Conversation was great! Not overbearing with lots of questions asked about my personal life and what not (because I do get that a lot). I had Hollie do my acrylic no chip and she did such an amazing job! I did get 1 broken nail by my own fault the week after, and when I went in to get it fixed they didn't even charge me. I went to get acrylics with my friends for homecoming. We made a reservation and had to wait 35 minutes for them to actually take us in. When doing my nails it was painful, I have gotten acrylics done at a different place before and did not hurt whatsoever. The man was shaving off my skin with the device he was using. He put my hand under the UV light twice for one hand the other hand once. Shouldn't each hand have the same or equal amount of UV light? The paint job was terrible. It was all over my skin when I got home I had to touch them up myself. There was a lot of junk under my nails as well. A week later I was putting on my shoes and half of my nail flung off... I noticed the rest of my nails are weak and will fall off any moment. My friend all her nails already fell off. Terrible job never coming back again. Do not waste your money at this place. read more

The staff was so friendly and the place was very clean and relaxing! I was being very indecisive about what kind of no-chip manicure I should get and my nail tech helped me out so much!
