I had the green curry and Tom Kha soup, house salad with ginger dressing and monkey bags which I've never had before but were delicious as well. We traveled from Ohio today. The early hour got me but I had found Lotus Thai on yelp prior to laying down at the hotel. I was still to tired to move so my husband went and ate in and ordered for me a dish to go. Pad Thai with lo mein noodles and extra chicken no spice. The best I've ever eaten with a good sized portion. Definitely a dish that filled one up but then you keep taking bites because it's just so yummy. Sorry no picture - I ate it !!!! read more

I order out Lotus Thai weekly and my order is consistently on point! The portion is so large that I can split with husband and toddler and the staff is always friendly and quick. Being that the location is in a strip mall, you might not suspect the atmosphere to be "up-scale" but they have made the place very attractive and just a great experience every time. Do not let the strip mall fool you, this a hidden Gem! The new owners are awesome! My husband and I have now tried everything on the menu and found nothing terrible- it was all very good and the service is great! They make their own Thai Chili paste and it is bang'in! Every dish tastes very different and I have to admit that the soups are my personal favorite. You *must* try the House Pineapple Fried Rice. We were pretty skeptical and very surprised when it became one of our favorite dishes. What a gem in a small town! We were visiting Ruby Falls and got super tired and exhausted, then we found this little Thai place. We were the last table of the night and the food warmed us up! The Tom Kha soup was served in a copper pot and was extremely good. I like my Penang curry and hubby's pad Thai as well. The pad Thai was so good that I constantly scooped some portion away from hubby's plate. Friend's Singapore noodles were different, has less sauce, but tasted very good as well. It is great that they handled all these different dishes to our satisfaction. Price was pretty reasonable and service was quite warm. Came here because I was craving Pho. They were out of meatballs and had no hoisin and served my pho in a half empty bowl. I actually left still hungry. Will not be back. The Pho was actually not bad. That's why they get 2 stars instead of 1 read more

This was kind of a mixed experience. Everything was good to very tasty, but there were some disappointments. I was SUPER enthused about visiting this restaurant after seeing the glowing reviews and especially having seen some of the photos of their food. So I pre-planned what I would order and share with friends based largely on the photos. To share, I ordered the Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls. The Satay was good and the Spring Rolls were disappointing only in that they were not what I was expecting. Someone had posted a photo of them on Yelp and they were of a traditional style that I hadn't seen before - more like a dumpling than a spring roll. But maybe I should have shown the server the photo and asked for that. Lesson learned. Regardless the Spring Rolls were good enough, though still a bit cool in the center, so maybe they weren't fried long enough. I also ordered the Wonton Soup because a previous reviewer had said they were clearly homemade. And they probably were; the Wontons were tasty, but didn't rock my world. (I love good Wontons.) For my entree, I ordered the Penang Curry Chicken. It was a spicy hot and a very generous portion. So much so, that I had enough leftovers for two meals. Finally, I had the Thai Bubble Tea. It was pretty good. Service was okay for the day after Xmas and considering the sign in the door that they were hiring, so maybe they were a bit understaffed. In all, I will look forward to coming back and giving them another go. read more

Fresh food and amazing cuisine. Ali was our wonderful waitress. Though I don't have a picture of this beautiful soul, she recommended fantastic dishes. I had the duck. It was the best duck I've ever had. It had been slow roasted for a few days in a delightful marinade. It wasn't gamey tasting at all. I skipped telling you about our appetizers, my dinner was so delightful. We started with spring rolls and calamari. Just like the spring rolls, the calamari was light & tasty. It was full of veggies & shrimp. The calamari was also very light. You didn't get a lot of fried in your mouth, you actually tasted the calamari. It was so nice, it could've been the dinner. Ali made the best suggestions to our group. Please ask for this sweet waitress if you eat at this establishment. It is so nice to be around young people who do the right thing & genuinely care about their patrons or customers. I'll edit this when I remember the drinks I had. They were exceptional as well. If they can ever move to a move central location this place will really take off. We really enjoyed our dinner at Lotus tonight! The restaurant manager Teddy is a very nice, friendly young man and a very good server. My wife had Drunken Noodles; a nice sized portion and very tasty. My green curry was super flavorful, fresh and colorful; Teddy brought me the Thai spice so I could adjust the heat myself. They do serve beer as well! We will be back to try their new Hibachi (grilled meats) items soon. I highly recommend them! read more

I love this place!! Its a few doors down from my office so I go quite often and have had many lovely conversations with the owner and her staff. This food is absolutely delicious and even through COVID she's maintained the great quality of service and her staff. I think they have a very versatile menu and it is truly my favorite restaurant in town. She can make your dishes really spicy too if you ask and I love that. I've eaten at Thai restaurants in many different states. This Thai restaurant by far was the absolute best I've ever had. The crab Rangoon was like having dessert to start with, the pineapple rice was cooked to perfection, but the most delicious dish was the Tom kah soup. I died and went to heaven. Our server Teddy was so kind and great with multi tasking, I haven't had that great of service in the 9 months I've lived in Tennessee. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The building may not be anything exciting but that doesn't matter. The only bad thing I have to say is my stomach isnt big enough. read more

It was Sunday afternoon, and was relatively quiet - one other table when we arrived, and a couple more before we were done. We had an assortment of appetizers - fried tofu, garden rolls, and veggie spring rolls - all of which were excellent. We decided to eat here cause of the reviews. We love Thai food and this was the worst Thai food I ate in my life. The service was all around the worst service -- Unfriendly and had to get our own menus and utensils. The food was disgusting. We ordered Pad Thai -- Burnt, flavorless, and basically just noddles. We also ordered Pineapple Fried Rice -- Looked and tasted like fried rice from a Chinese restaurant, and only 5 cuts of pineapple. Thai Iced Tea was huge but unfortunately WAY too sweet. This place is small yet clean, as Asian places go this place is spotless. The food is home cooking Thai style. The food is on point. I've been to Thailand and lived in southeast Asia for years. There is more meat in These dishes than any other Asian place I've been. The flavor is complex with all the nessicarry fats still present. The heat level is tuned to American the pallette. Price is good value for money service was quick and attentive. While I was there I saw a local family inlightened by the flavors. Give this place a shot it might open your eyes. read more

I ordered the night before last and two of the three dishes were fundamentally inedible. The Pad Thai was so-so but the satay and the tofu dishes were awful. I just moved to Athens, TN from California, where great Thai food is plentiful. Lotus Thai Cuisine is fantastic--I had garden rolls and pad thai. Portions are good, and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The waiter and staff were very nice, and the music was ambient. The menu is extensive--there are appetizers, noodle dishes, entrees, curries, and drinks. Most dishes come with an option of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, or tofu, so this place is great for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. They are also adding a Japanese menu soon. They are located in the same plaza as the Save-A-Lot on S. White Street. I'll be back! read more

I've had a few different dishes there and have always been satisfied. As good as you are going to get it in Eastern Tennessee! The only disappointment I've ever had was the Pho- It was good, BUT they were out of several of the ingredients (like Bean Sprouts!), and didn't mention that until it was served.
