A true hole in the wall gem! Unassuming strip mall thai restaurant with good personal service and great food. My wife, who loves Tom Yum Soup, loved her Tom Yum Soup. We both had the basil frIed rice, hers wa chi ken mine was pork and they were both very tasty. The only dish that wasn't excellent were the beef fried spring rolls....just so so. My family and I came into the Thai House absolutely starving and a bit hesitant because of the sketchy exterior and empty dining area, but after being warmly welcomed and quickly receiving our food my opinions changed.I had a spicy red curry and fresh ginger tea (both were excellent!) So hubs and I just got out of the movies and we were STARVING!! We wanted to try this Thai place after it was recommended to us by a friend. It is kind of a plain place in a strip mall and entering it was also a bit plain. There was plenty of room for more seating. We walked in and were greeted with, "here or to go? Here, ok, go find a seat and someone (her) will be with you in a minute". No smile, no nice greeting. When she waited on us it was also lack-luster. I wanted my green curry bowl a certain way with noodles, not rice. Not difficult, but! It ended up the way that I wanted.....and here's where it gets good.....The food was EXCELLENT!!!!! It was also plentiful. We were enjoying ourselves to the fullest!! The cap was the chef personally coming to our table and asking if we enjoyed her cooking. We DID!! We will be back any time we are in town. (We live 60 minutes away) Maybe the server was having a bad day? Who knows? We didn't give her crap, just prayed that we were going to get a good meal and we were rewarded well above our expectations. Highly recommend!! read more

Having lived in Bangkok for 6 years and traveled extensively within Thailand, I am very familiar with great Thai cuisine... I have tried most of the Thai restaurants in East Tenn.and Western NC...I also cook Thai food at home.This unassuming Thai restaurant is a Gem!... It is smallish...the interior and decor is nondescript BUT...the Food is excellent, with fresh, perfectly prepared vegetables and meat ( I had Panang Chicken curry)...It is some of the best Thai cooking in the South. The wait staff had the exceptional warmth and friendliness of the real Thai culture. The orders (4) were delivered ....with no delays, no mistakes, and a warm and fun manner. My lunch mates were also impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the fair price. When I start to miss Thailand ( happening more often these days) I now have a place to get authentic great Thai food and to practice my laughable language skills ( It's a very hard language) This unsolicited, unpaid, review is my honest opinion. We stopped here recently returning from a trip to Ohio. Our overall impression was that it was well worth the stop and would try to stop here again next time we enter in the area. We had fresh vegetable sitting rolls (summer rolls) which were excellent. We especially liked the ginger based dipping sauce that came with them. My wife has their pineapple stir fry which was excellent, I went with chicken Pad Thai which was a boy sweet for my preferance and not as spicy as I expected it to be. I'll try something different next time. Portion sizes were great, the wait staff friendly and efficient. Overall as good place for Thai cuisine. read more

The food was quite good. I had the fresh rolls, crab wontons, and pad Thai. The sauces served with the fresh rolls were fantastic. The rills themselves were no slouch either. Crab Wontons were very good and homemade. The Pad Thai was excellent. The interior is what you would expect out of a small strip mall restaurant. Stopped by here on our way to Pigeon Forge and found Good Thai food. Requested "4" hot for our pad see ew and pad mein; and they were delicious. Our server/hostess, C, was great and made sure we were enjoying our lunch. They even had one of our favorite guava hard candy. Would frequent this gem in Athena if we lived near here. read more

The food was excellent, the service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. They give you a choice of how spicy you want the food on a level of 1-5. We picked a three and it was quite spicy. I might go with a two next time but it was all good and portions were large. My only complaint was we went there in winter and it was absolutely freezing inside. Had to leave our coats on the whole time. There also isn't any ambiance. The inside comes off more like a fast food place than a restaurant, but the food is restaurant quality. So they need to turn the heat up and dress the inside up in my opinion but we would definitely go back. read more
