Best Thai Food in Chattanooga!! Hands down, you won't find another Thai Restaurant with the same quality and taste. We've had a lot of Thai food around town, but we always come find our way back to Yummy Thai food truck. We tried the brick and mortar which is owned by the same family, but the food truck is much better tasting, and the service is much faster since it's a food truck vS a restaurant. There isn't much of an ambiance, since it's parked outside of Dirty Jane's Antiques, so I would recommend they add a pop up tent with a table and chairs (if allowed) for those who want to devour the food immediately, and to also draw more attention to the business. OMGosh! I'm so glad I gave Yummy Thai restaurant on the North Shore a try. I had the Phuket Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, and received a portion that was enough for 3 meals. I only wish there had been more chicken in it. Love the interior design and decorations. It was a pleasure to be in the restaurant, but they also have outdoor seating under an awning, so that sounds nice for any upcoming pleasant Spring or Summer day. Loved our server. She was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be returning to try other dishes at Yummy Thai. I'd really like to get something from their food truck! read more

I think I've found my favorite Thai spot. After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to stop by for dinner tonight. I noticed the parking lot was busy, which was a good sign. The young woman working the truck greeted me and let me know it was about a 30 min. wait for a meal. No problem - plus loved that she was upfront with the information. I order Massaman Curry with shrimp and the veggie spring rolls. She asked spice level and I picked two with no real frame of reference but the flavor was just spicy enough and delicious! The spring rolls were a nice size and crisp! Overall the flavor was delicious. Next time I'll try the chicken, which I normally do. As a note... they charge a bit extra if you use your credit card. Tried this food truck for the first time. Service very prompt, stopped by around 5pm and had my order within 10 minutes. Menu is pretty good for a food truck, about 6 noodle dishes and a handful of curries. I ordered the chicken pad see ew and pad Thai. Portions are large, two people could easily split one order of noodles. Flavor is good, I ordered medium and it was decently spicy. Chicken and veggies seemed decent quality. Also had the spring rolls. Not bad, not great. Probably wouldn't order again. Definitely will stop by again and probably explore the menu a bit more. I would consider Thai food to be one of my favorite cuisines. It's a "go to" choice for me in any city. To further preface my comments, I cook with fish sauce on a weekly basis at home. The Proustian moment of the meal for me came early on with the green papaya salad. The first bite didn't take me back to great papaya salads/Thai meals of my past, but instead invoked memories of cleaning out the goldfish/turtle bowl I had as a kid. The dishes just went downhill from there. With all due respect for all the hard work it takes to run a restaurant and keep folks happy, most customers don't have a money tree that they're shaking to pay restaurant tabs. For others out there that enjoy Thai cuisine, I feel obligated to say that there was nothing enjoyable about the food at Yummy Thai. read more

Found this truck while on vacation. It was in the parking lot of Dirty Jane's Antiques. Order at the window. They ask what spice level you want. Save $ by paying in cash. They get your cell number and text you when it's ready. Allow 30 minutes. The meals are made to order and this place is popular. Sit in your car and wait. When you get your food, it will be fresh and hot! They give you big servings! I ate mine for dinner and also lunch the next day. It was plenty of food. And soooo delicious. I wish they had one of these trucks by my house! I'd order at least once a week. read more

Fresh, authentic, delicious Thai food! It's my favorite Thai food in Chattanooga. Their portions are large enough you could easily split one meal between two people. Be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes during peak times, but I promise it's worth it. You can also go run errands and they'll call you when it's done if you're not a fan of waiting. Food is absolutely delightful. Quick, made to order, and they are very patient. Calling in is an amazing option if in a hurry. They get 4 stars because they frequently run out of food due to such high demand, and they are often closed when their website says they are open. I respect it's a family business so 4 stars feels harsh, but they've been open long enough to get the right inventory and know when they are going to be busy. read more

First things first. Food is fantastic. BUT, service was a HUGE downer. We were a party of 8 with a reservation. From the time that the first dish was served (the dishes came sporadically, two by two) until the time that my father asked about his meal, it had been 20 minutes. The server assured him it was coming right up. After another 15 minutes, my father asked the manager. He realized that they had not put the order in, (the server had not even checked on it!). Then they offered to give him a discount, not give him the dish for free. It kind of ruined the evening, because we waited for all dishes to be served, our food got cold and my dad left hungry - we were all done with our food before the situation got sorted. Then the server acted like nothing had happened. ALSO, the restaurant is called "Thai Restaraunt and Bar". They've been "working on" their liquor license for a year now.
