During the first couple of weeks, Dad had some adjustments and settling-in issues. The staff called us to share their concerns but assured us they were there to support Dad and help him settle in successfully. Our father has been at Sunlit for a few months now. We are very pleased with the care Dad receives and the quality of his stay at Sunlit. He tells us he likes the staff, enjoys the food, and lives very comfortably. When we pick him up on weekends, he is happy, clean, and ready to go, and we appreciate the staff's flexibility in preparing him for our outings. The caretaker who noticed the situation never came back to clean or change her. My grandma was in tears telling me this. No one in your care should ever be ignored or left in that condition. She didn't give me the caretaker's name, I don't know exactly who it was but that caretaker needs to do her job properly or find another place to work, because this kind of neglect is disgusting and should never happen again.

The care, food and cleanliness would vacillate dramatically from week to week. The "med techs" handed out the medication, but were not capable of handling anything more serious. Upon responding to my mother's complaint that she could not catch her breath, the "med tech" said her room was too warm and opened a window. The next morning I took her to the ER and she was admitted to the hospital for a week. Her room (as well as several others) had frequent ant infestations. If the ants showed up after maintenance went home for the evening, you were on your own to buy spray and eradicate them. It was also quite unfortunate that the dead ants were never cleaned up after being sprayed, even though the rooms were "cleaned weekly". It was like having a dead ant boneyard throughout the apartment. The actions were always "reactive" and never "proactive". When she moved in, we did not test the stove to confirm it would work and when I went to cook her dinner, we discovered that the stove was not connected. Money was wasted on the food that was purchased and it was too late for her to get anything from the kitchen. It took several days to get the stove connected. Her thermostat did not work for the last month she stayed there (as well as several other residents) and was still not fixed well over a month after she left. She moved out in the middle of November, 2025 and we are still waiting for a $2000+ refund. I cannot reach anyone at the corporate office. When I reach out to the person who handles to finances at Cadence, I am unable to get contact information for anyone at the Cogir USA corporate office. Save your money and frustration and look elsewhere. We could not afford to move her out sooner or we most certainly would have.

My mother was sent here to strengthen the bacteria balance in her gut. She was forced to wear a diaper and was not permitted to use the toilet, and she is not incontinent. She would tell them I have to go to the bathroom and they'd say well then go in the diaper and I'll come right back and change you, and they wouldn't be back for hours leaving her to sit in her own waste. The food she was served was so bad sometimes she did not know what she was eating, but she had to eat because she was so hungry. I sent her food from Instacart so that she would have some healthy food to eat in her room. They would limit her water so that she would not urinate which resulted in delirium. She called me in the middle night and her mouth was so dry. I could hear her lips sticking together because they were refusing to give her water. They ignore the call lights. They would leave her in her poopy diaper for hours at a time, causing her to get UTIs. The delirium that she acquired at this place from their inadequate care was so bad that my California family thought that she was in her end times and was going to leave her there. When I called the office and kindly asked them to change her diaper for three hours to change one diaper, they hung up on me. I heard the nurses with unkind angry yelling tones yelling at my mother while I was on the phone and they did not know the phone was open. I texted the management of the facility trying to get my mother help and 90% of the time they ignored me. When company is there or they know the phone is open they are not hostile but as soon as there's no one around, they are. I've already called Ombudsman's to check out this facility. It should not exist; It is that bad. I drove 1800 miles to rescue my mom from this facility two weeks ago. The emotional abuse is one of the hardest hurdles to help her over. Do not take any loved ones to this facility. I will be reporting them to anyone who will listen. My son sent this up accurately when he said "that facility is nothing more than a pound for old people."

From my wonderful IV nurses, CNAs, RNs, LVNs, PT/OT to the Activities Staff and Food Services staff. Everyone had a friendly smile with a Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening! The only downside I had was being awaken at 4-5a to give me one of my meds that could have been given to me at 6-7a when I got one of my IV bag doses! I made many friends there and highly recommend this facility.

Well, m what I can share about Rialto Post‑Acute Retirement Care Facility id that I have personally observed their nursing staff, Nurse Evelyn, who is personable, responsible, knowledgeable and had my loved one laughing and happy. This matters! Nurse Shanon and Emily are also great! On a couple of occasions when I visited a family member and a very good friend, I noticed the front office staff are welcoming, the administration seems like they are on top of everything and their level of care, responsiveness, and overall integrity have consistently impressed me. The nursing team is both highly skilled and deeply compassionate. They do more than just administer medications and monitor vitals -- they take time to engage with each resident, understand individual needs, and notice changes. On two occasions I have seen nurses staying extra minutes to comfort residents, proactively address concerns (like pain, hygiene, emotional support), and follow up with families to ensure everyone is informed. Very few facilities care like Rialto Post Acute. The leadership at this facility demonstrates professionalism and responsiveness. When I've raised questions or concerns, the administration responded promptly, openly, and with real care. Policies are transparent; staff seem well‑supported and trained, which reflects in how smoothly operations run and how comfortable residents feel. The facility itself is clean, safe, and well‑maintained. Residents are treated with dignity and respect. Activities for engagement are organized, and the staff's attention to emotional as well as physical well‑being shines through. The communication with families is open and honest, helping us feel confident about our loved ones' welfare. Kudos to this hard working professionals! My 94 year old aunt was having a painful transition and they took her with hospice (Cambridge). I was there for the few days and she was clean, dry and comfortable. Her room was peaceful and the nurses would come by to check on her and me often. One thing that's different here is the staff. They are staff that is invested and have spent awhile with Villa Mesa, this should be a continued goal of the management's part--there are residence that look better than many years ago from the last time I saw them when my employment ended and that is a huge testimony and the way it should be. The residence at Villa Mesa are thriving and well cared for. And even in a transitional period, my aunt was treated so well and so was I. Thank You all. Also, it really is the cleanest place too. Take it from another nurse who has instructed all around the Inland Empire, this place is a good, safe place and it's clean and their nurses are smart.
