Food is ridiculously overpriced. Combos are 15-25$ for cheap meat, stale buns and frozen French fries. There's no way I would be able to afford eating here regularly as a student. So I guess they want rich people eating here. It's so sad how poor the quality is now compared to the good old days. My burger was gross - it was overcooked like bad fast food and greasy AF. I will never return here due to the food alone. There is no table service - counter order and pick up. You'll likely eat at a greasy dirty table bc it's self-clean and most patrons DGAF. The food took a while to get so if you're in a rush, don't bother. The ambiance is run down bc nobody takes care of it - Dusty fixtures, greasy finger prints, and as, expected dirty outdoor furniture. So sad. read more

Food is good, not great. Service is on the slow side for this kinda not fast food not a restaurant place. Ambiance is lacking but it has comfortable enough seating. Booths and table-chairs. Value for price, not so great. There are good Mediterranean options with fresher inputs nearby, nonetheless this is a go to for quick stop and go. Serves frozen burgers so "well done only" as their sign indicates on arrival. The quality of the inputs is seemingly low (frozen) so the taste is rather good in spite of that. Lansing folks aren't really in to good food so this place is something of a relief. read more

I only go to Lou and Harry's for the gyros. They have the best gyros in town. The fries are really good as well. I placed my order online through Yelp and my food was done before the estimated time. I just wished they had marked it as complete. When I pulled up I waited for a few minutes not knowing my order was ready. I've been coming to Lou and Harry's for over 10 year now. I've never had a bad experience. I definitely recommend you check it out. I usually go to the location by Frandor. I only give them 4 stars because I haven't ate anything else on the menu besides the gyro. read more

Went to Lou Ha's on a whim tonight with my significant other and tried the falafel plate. The portion was filling and I really liked the Greek salad that came with it. The tzatziki sauce was pretty good, too. My significant other got the shish kabob plate and said it was excellent. We both liked the pita and baklava as well. No complaints tonight! read more

I decided to go here for lunch. I'm glad I beat the lunch crowd. I couldn't imagine coming here, during the middle of lunch rush. You would be waiting for forever for your food. I'm glad it's fresh though. I got the chicken shish-kabob special. It was really good. The chicken was good, it wasn't dry at all. The pita bread was thick and soft. It was came with rice and salad and a drink for 8.99. It's a really good deal. I couldn't even eat all of it. It's was a big portion of food. But my only complaint, it's summertime! rRstaurants have to turn the air on way before they open. OMG they the grill in the front those ceiling fans aren't doing anything. FOOD POISONING ALERT! This place is a disaster now compared to several years ago! The lettuce is not fresh and not CLEAN! The Gyro is lukewarm and not piping hot like how it was before. The Yogurt sauce is lacking in quantity, quality, and TASTE! With the amount of Onions in there as WHOLE chucks, it is very unpleasant to bite into. The thing that completely killed it was the THREE CHEESE PITA. How are you going to serve the three cheese pita without melting the cheese? I mean come on the cheese was still solid and when you bite into it, its still cold in the middle. The place is cutting back in the wrong parts. Stop Hiring SHIT workers that is just there to collect bread. Start paying and hiring high quality workers who actually give a damn about your food because it truly was a great place for GYRO BACK THEN! Now it is absolutely scratching the surface to get by. I appreciate Lou or Harry or whoever looked in charge at the front. I can tell he wanted the place to be a wonderful place, but I sense they are lacking in something either not training their staff enough or the management system is complete disaster with the low pay. Oh Lou and Harry's...how I missed you. Thrilled I had business to attend to in East Lansing, meeting a friend here for lunch was the perfect Monday. It was my first trip to this location and it was clean and service was excellent. I forgot(I don't know how) how much I love the west coast club on dark wheat bread, piled high with turkey, provolone, avocado and fresh veggies...you can get these sandwiches in small or large...I can't even imagine what the large is like...oh the perfectly cut fries , done to just the right crispness. My friend had a gigantic cheese quesadilla with loads of giant pieces of chicken...it looked fabulous. I have missed Lou and Harry's since my MSU days and I remember why...I love places where you can get something deliciously healthy or something deliciously disastrous and this is it. I went here with my father in law for take out during the lunch rush. We ordered 2 spicy gyros, a tender chicken, plus a large Ceasars salad. We waited a long time, and we didn't mind, they were busy, so completely understandable. After waiting for about 20 minutes; a order is called that we think is ours, but before we have a chance to check, a lady with two kids comes and picks it up and takes off. She came in after us, so we asked the staff if that's right. They said our food is coming, but just takes a little longer to cook. A name is called that no one is picking up. My father in law asks if that's our order, we tell them what we had ordered and the cook confirms that it's our order. We take it and leave. When we get home and open to eat we realize it's not our order. As the final display of how unorganized they were, the salad was full of sand.. I will not be coming back, there are plenty of other restaurants with better food and service. read more

4 stars, but it's a complicated four stars. See, Lou & Harry's is somewhere between a fast food joint and a Coney Island. As a Coney Island, it does well because it's so much cheaper than any local Coneys, but I didn't see any Coney Dogs on the menu. As a fast food joint, it's much higher quality food and can be cheaper than lots of fast food places. During the week, you can get a daily special, and it's quite a big discount. $4 on a Tuesday will get you a cheeseburger, large soda, and fries or salad, all of which makes even Wendy's look disgusting in comparison. Wednesday is Gyro day, Thursday is Chicken sandwich day, but I don't know the other two yet. So if I think of Wendy's as a good solid 3 stars, I ought to give Lou & Harry's 4. Now, nothing on the menu will blow you away, but you get a good lunch. The burger is a real burger with real toppings, and the salads are nice and fresh. The fries I'm not that impressed by, but they will load you up on them if you want. read more

I have always loved Lou and Harry's, but recently their prices have risen so high that I can't give them a higher rating than a 3 star. If you can't make it in for the lunch specials you will pay too much. My favorite thing to get is the Tommy Pita, with the original gyro combo with a side salad as my second choice. If I could give a separate rating for their Greek salad dressing I would definitely give it a five star review. I have never had a better Greek dressing. And a bonus is that they sell it by the bottle ($5 for 16ish ounces). The place is very popular, but you can expect quick service. Seating at noon can be tight, but that's typically a good sign. read more

Another East Lansing classic that I have to hit every time I'm in town! After making the veggie switch I've found their black bean burger combo with the mini salad to be a delicious and filling option. I think it's fair to knock off a star due to inconsistency, though. Sometimes service is quick, sometimes it's a long wait; Sometimes the fries are just right, sometimes they are overdone; Sometimes the food is piping hot and fresh, and sometimes it seems like their timing is off. Plus, if you come in at lunch, be prepared to wait as the place is always slammed. I tried this place because someone told me it was the best gyro in Lansing. Mind you, I had tried Aladdin's in downtown prior to this. We tried Lou & Harry's in East Lansing/Frandor area because it's closer to home. We waited a very long time to get waited on for starters. There was not a line, but there were only two guys back there and to be fair they did look busy. Anyway the gyro was probably the worst gyro I've ever had in my life. Clearly not cut fresh from the spit. The meat was frozen, I think. Also they had brownies that were clearly from GFS. It's not the place to go if you want fresh or authentic. We did not try anything else (well my husband got fries and those were mediocre at best) but judging by the gyros, I'm going to have to say stay away from here. read more

I went here today to get a gyro. It tasted fine and was an appropriate size. The meat is heated on their grill and not shaven from a kabob so don't be disappointed if you do not get it that way. The salad I received with it was fine, even though I am not a fan of iceberg lettuce. I chose the salad this time as their fries are not my favorite. Overall, the prices aren't bad and the food is OK. I will return if I am in the mood for quick, basic Mediterranean food. read more

I don't think the gyro meat came off of a rotating spit, but I really don't care. It was really good. I grew up in metro Detroit and this sandwich is a good sandwich. After I finished, I ordered a spinach pie. That was a microwave reheat, but after a few minutes of cool-down, pretty good. LOTS of spinach filling. Service: I was a little annoyed at first about how long it took. Then I took a step back and looked around. The place was PACKED. So, I waited... My food finally got to me nice and hot and fresh.
