    Shrimp po boy
    Akermi A.

Been going here since Lou and Laura owned it, food still the same.... Just small little differences here and there. The only thing that I used to love about the shrimp po boys was they come smashed and wrapped, last time the bread was different. Other than my insignificant complaint everything else is great, especially the chicken.

Good fried chicken. Place is small but cute. Reminds you of home. Also sells seafood and poboys.

    Fried Shrimp Po' Boy--excellent!
    Jeanie M.

The fried shrimp po' boy was excellent. Other menu items included broasted chicken, burgers, and catfish. The atmosphere is casual. There was a Christmas tree decorated in red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. There's lots of seating. There's a counter, where your order is taken. Food is brought to your table. Service was efficient--civil, not friendly.

    Awesome pecan pie

Okay I am an out of towner and needed a review stacked place to give a try. Well, I gave the "home of the ORIGINAL po-boy" a go. The food is okay... Had chicken tenders, fried chicken, and a shrimp poy-boy with curlie Q fries. The po-boy was teenie tiny. I mean it was smaller than a burger and coated in mayo. The fried chicken had a burnt grease taste and lastly the tenders where the worse. The tenders were "broasted" and that apparently means dried out without a crust or breading. *******the reason it is a 3 is because this place has an awesome personal Pecan Pie******* so let's sum this up: -bad attitude/even when asking questions. -not the cleanest place -slow -small amounts with regular pricing -substandard food (except for awesome pie) 3 *stars

The fish and shrimp were not done, but the service was impeccable. The food seemed to be missing seasoning.

I got the special of the day which was baked chicken with rice and gravy and two sides. They guy serving was super sweet to explain to me the ordering process and I had a great conversation with the woman in line before me who comes every week for the Wednesday special. For my sides, I chose the greens and mashed potatoes. Even though I got two starches, it was worth it because the mashed potatoes and gravy were worth having as a main dish! I loved the greens, too, especially since they had all the hot sauce and peppers and vinegar choices you could want. The chicken was fork tender and I left nothing on the plate. I love that they provide each guest a little wrapped package of cornbread and iced cake of the day, too. I will definitely be stopping at Pamela's any time I'm in town.

We both felt really heavy afterward, and my mom even felt sick after eating there. It was just basic diner food and a bit overpriced for something you can get almost anywhere else. However, the cake that comes with the cornbread was my favorite part. SERVICE: The service was fine. It had more of a cafeteria-style vibe, so there isn't much to say about it. AMBIANCE: The inside felt very run down. The bar wasn't even finished and didn't look like it was ever used. Overall, it had a very hole-in-the-wall feel.
