I brought my Corvette in for two new front tire tires. I prepaid for the tires as mandated. My husband got a call from the dealership telling him that if he bought three tires, he get a fourth free. After consideration, we replaced all four tires. Several times my husband told them to keep the back left tire is only had 4K miles on it. Once we paid, I was given my paperwork and the key. When I asked for the tire back, panic set in, and he disappeared for some time. He rolled out a tire that was destroyed.Prior to me taking my car here, I asked if there would be any problems replacing run flat tires. I was told no, but clearly they had no idea how to remove run flats without destroying the tire. Thanks for nothing. BTW, one back tire for my car is $800 each. This dealership is shady and full of scammers. They serviced my car but there is no record of the service at all. How is there no record of the work they told me they completed? Was my car even inspected or looked over or did they just claim they did the work. When I purchased my 2022 BMW X3 I was told the owners manual was missing because they gave it to someone else who purchased a car and that they order me a new one. I received that in the mail after calling and emailing them 4 months later asking where it was. Then realized my car was also missing the warranty booklet and when I asked for it I was told that every car comes with a owners manual and warranty booklet and that they won't replace it, even though it was supposed to come with my car. They also made it seem like I lost the original owners manual and they just kindly sent me a replacement as a courtesy which was not the case. I have also received the run around when trying to bring up issues and concerns with staff. Definitely not good customer service. I had to call BMW corporate to even receive a phone call back. Then I had 2 other BMWs state I need new tires and the tread wear is bad measuring around .5mm yet this service center said that my tires are fine and only need to be replaced before winter and that the other BMW "is probably just trying to get me to buy tires from them" the manager told me they gave me a discounted rate on tires only for the price to be the exact same that I received from one of their service technicians. The price the manager gave is also $300 more than the price another BMW told me for the exact same tires and installation without a discount. Horrible experience all together. read more

Service tech didn't charge me correctly, ultimately charging me $426 for service that should have been covered with my rewards. I called the dealership to see if my transaction could be voided and recharged correctly. I was told that they should be able to do that and he would have a manager call me within the hour. I have to say very disappointed in this dealership, story starts with my mom wanting to purchase a new 2026 Chevy Equinox. First off the first salesperson didn't really even know all the features on the vehicle, but was polite. So we test drove options where limited but was dead set on on a white Chevy. So we told them what we wanted and to call, what did we get "do you want to put a deposit down?" Answer should have been obvious, no. The goal was a white Chevy equinox. Then they pushed the gmc terrain, no we want a Chevy. Then they pushed the Buick. So we left.....Week or so passed what is sitting on the lot EXACTLY what my mother wanted, nobody called nothing my mother found the vehicle not the sales team. They claim customer loyalty means something to them after My family has bought 3 vechiles 2 of them I have purchased. So thought maybe it was just a mistake it happens right? Fast forward to myself looking for a New 2025-2026 2500 Diesel pickup Walk into the dealership looking for the previous salesman, ask for him they try and page the next building where they claimed he was working. The page would not transfer into the next building, what am I told is he is in the next building basically I am off to find my own salesman to purchase a truck, disappointed once again. I decided to stick around and talk with a salesman because he was not even working that day, so set to find their employee that isn't there. Now I am thinking could I just look and test drive a Diesel vs the gas truck. The salesman then decides to pull one up for me, what does he drive up not the truck I wanted with the diesel motor, but a gas motor. So it was an absolute waste of my time when I could have been told they don't have one at the moment. So in long story short I am sure some have had great experiences but all I have experienced was put a deposit down and then trying to sell you what's on the lot for their ease not actually caring about you want. read more

Found a truck online at the dealership that we really wanted. Called in advance to ensure there were no major issues before driving 4 1/2 hours to pick it up. Were told that it was good to go. Upon arriving the truck had no heat and air would only come out of the dash vents, no defrost, no footwell. I diagnosed the problem and called a service shop for an estimate of what it would take to fix, $1500. Dealership would only lower the price of the vehicle by $500 from the original asking price, which tells me they already new about the problem and were just hoping no one would bother to try the heat/defrost out on a hot day. They never called me back. Again I talked to a sales team member and they said our managers are busy but they will call you back in an hour. Never happened. I tried two more times with no avail. NEVER go to Bachrodt for a car. They promise a lot until they get your money. Then, it turns out the promises become lies and excuses. Examples: We were told that it came with a 90 day bumper to bumper warranty. That was apparently basically a third-party extended warranty thing. We figured, that's great. Took the car in to their service department and were told, "we don't service those cars except for very basic things. You'll have to take it to the Audi dealer. But you have your extended warranty." Here's the problem with that warranty - along with the car finish warranty we paid extra for - the finance department was supposed to print those out. He told us those papers weren't printing that day, and he would get them to us the next week. Well, they never came. We called. We called, We called. Either he never returned the call or he called us back a week later and promised we'd be getting those papers in a couple days. Empty promises. Oh, and once we knew that their service department can't do much on those cars, it really called their "full inspection" they supposedly do into question. There was also supposed to be a second key fob. Not promised when we bought it, but told that they would try to get it from the previous owner. So, after a couple weeks the story became, "the owner's parents dropped it off, but we don't know who they gave it to and we can't find it." Guess what? It's been three months and we still don't have it. I'm sure we never will. Terrible company. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I set up an appointment online for service on my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. It is a repeat issue that it has already been in to Lou Bachrodt for in the past that they did not fix correctly. I set my appointment for 1:30p. I arrived around 1:20p for the appointment after driving a half hour to the dealership. I was told "I'm too busy go talk to him over there" by the first guy I approached (he asked my my name first without me even saying anything to him). No pleasantries, no customer service...the next guy I talked to was fine. No issues with him. HOWEVER, I explained my issue to him and that it is a repeat issue...and was told, "Well you will need to leave the vehicle overnight because we are backed up today and they will get to it tomorrow." I then asked if they could just give me a heads up the next day of when to bring it and I would drop it off. I can't just be without a vehicle overnight for no good reason. I was then told, "No we don't do it like that and you would lose your spot in line and have to start over." I am extremely disappointed in this dealership's service department. They are HORRIBLE with communication. To know that the department is backed up with an overnight delay but not tell anyone until they take the time to drive there is ridiculous. My "service engine" light came on on my 2-year old Buick, still under warranty. I was near Bachrodt in Rockford, so I pulled in and asked the service advisor if they had time to just look and see if the car was safe to drive until I could bring it in for whatever repair/adjustment was needed. They said they were too busy to talk with me and to just make an appt. Again, I explained, I just need to know if it's safe to drive my car until I can get an appt. came me the same reply. So I called another Buick dealer 30 miles away, and explained the sitation. The advisor simply asked, "Is the light flashing, or on steady?" When I said it was on steady, he explained, then it's safe to drive. It's only a safety issue if the light is flashing. I asked if I could bring the car in at that time, just to have them verify it won't be a big issue, if I drive the car for a long weekend trip. Bought Oil Changes when we bought our car , there was a set amount of oil changes we paid for. Wife went to dealership today after making an appointment only to be told she would have to pay for the oil change , they gave some bogus BS about the plan expiring and or over mileage . (wasn't a plan we paid for the oil changes fixed number ) First of all it was a set number of changes . Second of all , oil changes go by the viscosity of the oil and the cars oil life monitor. (for the most part) And its a 2016 with less than 60,000 Miles on it. They wanted to charge her $50+ for the oil change , Here is a better Idea ,refund the last 2 or 3 oil changes that we paid for at the $50+ price structure . Just more Bull from Bachrodt, it is ALWAYS something with them . It's a shame that one person can bring down the whole dealership with unprofessional customer service..The ratings speak for themselves..There are some good people who work here however (Michale in parts Dept. is a terrible and unprofessional representative) He was rude on the phone and hung up on me when I asked for a part number so I could order the right OEM reflector I was asking about for my 2018 Chevy Silverado HighCountry Dually. (Just trying to be safe on the road and needed a small reflector ) you would think that would be no big deal to assist with right??..He then told me not to call back and kept ignoring my calls so I went In to talk to him in person and he continued to have an attitude and started using vulgar language when I told him how unprofessional he was being over a safety reflector. He told me to leave the store and so I asked him to go outside with me and look at this small reflector I needed so he understood this situation..Who wants to drive with no light?? He was so unhelpful it was incredible..He then literally called the cops on me saying I wouldn't leave the parts store and literally LIED to the police officer by saying I told him I wanted to "fight"outside when I never said that AT ALL. I simply asked him to look at the reflector so he could see what I'm talking about so we can get it fixed.. Other staff members were nice so this one bad egg does not mean everyone is bad. I run two successful businesses and I would never treat any of my customers as he did. I use this truck as my work and personal truck while traveling coast to coast for VIP clients with high end vehicles and other freight.. I've spent thousands of dollars at this dealership is the past years however they won't see another dime from me again with that guy working there. As Sandra and Jenny sat me down, they explained that the truck I made an appointment to look at was literally being sold out from under me as we speak in the next room over. No phone call, no warning, and very lackluster attempt at making it right. If you have to drive over 10 minutes to look at a vehicle don't waste your gas. Your appointment means nothing to them. I've bought two new vehicles over the years from Bachrodt and their sales department was always top notch. They where polite, friendly and worked with you to make sure you got what you wanted with out putting you into a financial hardship. Now of course, this is what you would expect from car sales. If they weren't this way they wouldn't stay in business long. Their service department.... It's hard to really write this part up as my experience with Bachrodt's service department goes all the way back to 2004. During that time I've had many good AND bad experiences. There have been a lot of personnel changes over that time, and each time there were changes in the service we received. I've had it where I had to take one of our vehicle's back numerous times for the same issue where I had the GM involved to them bending over backwards to make sure my vehicle was ready and working as fast as possible or providing free/discounted rental vehicles. My latest experience was excellent. I took my vehicle in they diagnosed the problem and where able to fix it the same day. They where quick to communicate what was wrong, what needed to be done and when they were finished. The Service Rep even worked with me on the work that needed to be done because I just couldn't afford everything they recommended being repaired, replaced or changed at this time. read more

We have purchased several vehicles from Lou Bachrodt over the last 30 years. One vehicle was purchased new and the other three were used. The last vehicle we purchased was less than a year ago. We purchased a 2014 Chevy Cruz. Within four months we began to have major issues with the engine. Even with the warranty that we purchased when we bought the vehicle, we have spent over $2500 in major engine repairs. Many of these issues should have been done before they sold the car. The things that needed repaired we verified ourselves by having a diagnostics test done. What we had repaired included an ignition coil, spark plugs, radiator hoses, thermostat, battery, transmission fluid, windshield wiper transmission, drivers door window, mechanism, and turbo charger. The warranty that we bought when we purchased the vehicle only covered the turbo charger, but we had to pay $900 for the hoses to connect the new turbo charger because we were told the hoses were not part of the warranty. All the rest were not covered. We feel that these repairs are excessive for a vehicle that you haven't even owned for 12 months. This dealership also attempted to tell us that the vehicle needed a new catalytic converter, which of course was not covered by the warranty. The offsite diagnostics that we had done told us that the catalytic converter was not in need of repair. It is disappointing that a dealership that we have trusted for over 30 years has now become, a dishonest business. We will never again purchase another vehicle or use any of their vehicle services. This experience is not an isolated one, as unfortunately, we have become aware of many others who are having the same experiences. Sad for our community to have a business that has been known as an honest place to buy a vehicle and have repairs done, to become a place to avoid. read more

At the last possible minute, the headlight on my truck burned out. I was close to this dealership, so I stopped in. I am not from this area, and did not purchase my truck here. It was 400 pm on a Friday, so I didn't expect them to schedule so fast. I met with the service advisor, Chelsey, and she was so helpful!! She managed to get the repair scheduled right away! I was absolutely blown away by her knowledge, character, and attention to customer service. I had taken my vehicle here for recall work. They were recommended by GM. After getting my perfectly running car back. It ran really bad ! My husband and I looked under the hood. An air intake value was broken off. Mind you no one has been u see my hood in 2.5 years other then them. We called to tell them. They said bring it in. We did. I called and texted a few times to check on my car. No response. I stopped in. The associate was very short and rude. She said the car is done. She went on telling me it would cost over $200 for that fix. Of course, they wouldn't fess up to breaking the piece off. My car was in on a Saturday for an oil change. I received a call that it was done and I let the person know that I would be in later to pick it up. I wasn't able to get to the dealership until after 1pm and the service shop was closed. I didn't figure this would be a problem, as I assumed the keys would be left with the cashier for me to pay and get my car. When I arrived, they keys were not there. The person at the cashier desk insinuated that it was my fault and that I should have made arrangements to have them bring my keys up, because no one can get into the service dept. I obviously did not know that they would not have access to the shop or that it would be necessary to explicitly tell them that if I haven't picked it up by the time they close that they would need to bring the keys up. I was surprised that no one would have access to the shop (what if there was a fire or something in there), so I asked a couple more times to verify. Another girl at least offered to call someone and she confirmed that no one from the shop was still around and I would not be able to get my keys until Monday morning. So, I went the whole weekend without my car and it was a huge hassle getting my kids dropped off Monday morning and getting to the shop, not to mention being late for work. I've had similar situations at other dealerships where I've picked up my car after the service dept was closed and it was never an issue. To add insult to injury, I have a Chevy Volt that can be plugged in. They have a charger just outside the service dept. My car was parked two spots down from it, not plugged in. This is just a little thing, and I would've been only slightly annoyed if not for the rest of the story. And of course, I would've been pushing it to make it to work on the gas I had left, so I had to stop for gas as well, making me even later for work. read more

I took my car here for what another mechanic told me was a warranty issue. I made the appointment and said that this was a warranty code and what it was and that was what needed to be fixed. When I got there they checked me in and I explained the situation again and they told me they would check it out and would be in and out in a few minutes, which was good because I needed to leave to go to an out of town wedding. They came back and told me I had an exhaust leak and it was going to cost over 1000 to fix. I told them no and then they produced a bill for around $350. I refused to pay that as well and I demanded my keys. They wouldn't give them to me. I made a scene and agreed to pay and left and I will never go back. Drive somewhere else to have service done or buy.
