I opened up a StateFarm Bank account thinking it would be a great addition to my car, home, earthquake bundle I already had with my local agent. It was fine for a while, when I didn't need anything. I recently needed some help accessing my account, but the team at this office kept referring me to the national 800 number. They said they don't deal with bank accounts. I called that number, and it auto redirects you back to the agent's office. I tell them what happened, and refer me back to the 800 number. It went like this at all hours of the day. Not very helpful. Tip: Don't open a bank account with StateFarm, or cancel if you already do. The agent's office doesn't help, the national number puts up multiple barriers to getting your transaction completed, and they nickel and dime you for every transaction. read more

I wanted to surprise my 18 y.o. daughter with a pre-owned 2014 Toy Corolla for her birthday and my biggest concern was how much my monthly car insurance would go up.  I called Statefarm around 9am and Cindy Calabar picked up promptly and greeted me.  Adding the Toyota would be the 4th vehicle under my name.  Initially, she quoted me $250 based on my profile and my coverage.  I asked her if she can work her magic. and I She started calculating and running different yearly mileage scenarios, coverage, adding and deleting features and working my deductible payment.  She easily spent over 45 minutes on the phone working with me and the whole time she was patient.  While on the phone, I never felt rushed or felt like I was imposing on her.  And I thank her for that.  It's already stressful adding a new driver and paying more, but she made me feel valued and I appreciate her for that. My family has had State Farm insurance with Lou Grimaldi for over 30 years and we haven't had any issue with their customer service until now. Of course there were never any issues because we have always paid our premiums on time and they didn't have to do anything else. Now this nightmare started back in July 2023 when my husband's 2005 Chevy was stolen for the catalytic converter. We called Lou's office to start the claim process once the truck was found so we can take it to a body shop to get it fixed. Everything was going good until our rental car company called 2 weeks later requesting the rental back because State Farm said the claim reviewed the truck as total loss. Never once did I hear from Lou's office or the claims department as to what's happening with the truck. I had to find out from Enterprise. Nobody thought to call us and discuss what our options are. They had already decided what next steps would be without getting any approval from me or my husband. Fast forward another 2 weeks with a lot of back and forth between different claim representatives telling them the situation over and over again and to where Lou was never available. Either he was on a conference call or out of the office. Even the rental and body shop had a hard time getting in touch with him. I finally went to his office and demanded to talk to him and wouldn't leave till he talked to me. He of course was not there but one of the receptionist called him and we talked over the phone with a claims supervisor. I told them that I was very concerned about how long it's taking for the truck to get fixed and that I did not want to total it. The money they would have given us couldn't buy anything good and that the truck was in very good condition. Lou told me he understood and agreed that used cars are expensive nowadays. I also voiced my concern for the rental car as it was coming close to the max limit we have on our policy. We were already a month in and the truck was not repaired or any parts even ordered because the claim's department didn't approve the estimate. Lou assured me that he could get the rental extended.My Husband had to go himself to the repair shop to discuss the repairs and make adjustments that would eventually be approved. Lou assured me that he would continue to talk to the claims supervisor and call me back. Well the repair shop gave up on trying to fix the truck claiming they could not locate the correct parts that my husband should take it to another shop to get the repairs done. So my husband had to again find a shop that would repair the truck. It only took the new shop two days to tell us that they would not only be able to fix the truck but also get it done within two weeks. Again my husband had to do all the footwork to get this done with no help from State Farm. Well fast forward another month and I get another call not from Lou but from the rental car company stating that we have a balance that State Farm is refusing to pay. I called Lou asking why he had not called me back to keep me informed about the situation with the rental and he said it was my fault for taking so long because of the back and forth of them wanting to total the truck and of us not wanting to. He then goes on the say that in these cases 100% of the people take the money and total their car. He completely did a 360 of what we previously talked a month ago and how understanding he was. This is going on 3 months and we still can't get in touch with Lou, and the claims department says there's nothing they can do that we would have to pay the balance. He doesn't want to deal with the situation and be our representative to get this fixed. I have never been so stressed out with an insurance claim in my life. The lack of communication from Lou and anybody from his office is so disappointing of how they would treat such loyal customers that have been with him for so long. read more

I have been with Lou for over 15 years, I have had the best experience with his office. His staff is friendly and they know your name. Any time I have a question, they have the answer. I have 4 children, as they each reached driving age the worry of cost increase was a concern. Yes the cost increased, of course, they're young drivers, but Lou's office made it work in the best way possible, keeping the rates lower than any other company( I checked around). This agency did a good job UNTIL I asked them to cancel my policy because I sold my house. Then they became hard to deal with. They asked me to open other policies "meanwhile" I bought another house just so they wouldn't lose the policy. They gave me such a hard time, just to close a policy. How is that helping they clients?
