I've had this place on my radar since it was located in Valpo years ago. Since we were in the area for a movie I figured I could finally give this place a try. The service was good as we were greeted upon entering. There is no menu board. There is a laminated menu at the order counter. We placed our order and were given a wait time of 15 minutes. There is seating on the inside so we waited. Once we got to the car there were no napkins or utensils. It was fine because we always keep extras with us. I ordered 2 chicken wings and 2 pieces of catfish which came with fries and 2 hush puppies. The food was okay overall. The fries were a weird texture and the chicken wings were hard. The sauce was an interesting consistency like possibly too much water. Maybe it was an off day. I'm not totally sure I will return if I'm in the area in the future. read more

This was my go-to when I moved to the area because there is not any good restaurants out this way. I've been to this place maybe six or seven times with the food being excellent. The last time I went I was giving jumbo wing dings I was so that they don't have any normal size chicken wings so they were giving out jumbo wing diings I asked for a refund because I don't like that and it tasted horrible as well as it was not done. We were passing through on our way to Notre Dame and decided to stop for something to eat. This was by far the best decision we made all weekend. I have never had such good fried chicken in my life. We had wings, fries and the chicken sandwich. I wish we had time to stop there again to try the catfish before we headed home. Everything was so fresh and cooked to order. I tried this place when they first opened and the chicken tenders were big. I ordered again Sunday. Did not make it home with my coleslaw or hush puppies. I called and they said they would credit my card the $4.xx and 4 days later no credit has appeared. The chicken tenders were very thin tiny chicken pieces.
