Showed up on a Saturday night to meet a friend for dinner. Before I could read the menu, the lady behind the counter told me the special was a Cajun Boil. She told me it had corn and potatoes in it. "Sign me up!" I said. I also got a cream soda from the fridge. The food came to my table pretty quickly. My friend asked me if I liked it and I really did! So she got one, too. She also happened to get a cream soda. We both enjoyed the food immensely! We chatted a little with the lady and the chef. Nice people. I will absolutely be returning. They also gave me a paper copy menu to take with me - it has the nightly specials on it. I love a good "hole in the wall" restaurant. And this is definitely a good "hole in the wall" restaurant. Also, it was busy all night with families coming and going. Getting food to eat there or take home with them. It's a popular place !! read more

Was driving through from out of town, stopped for lunch. No one greets you when you walk in which is awkward, we didn't know if we should sit to order or go to window to order. When I asked questions about the menu, the cashier wasn't very helpful so I didn't know what items I may need to remove from my order. I did order without cheese and all my items ended up coming with cheese which then I was laughed at when I said I had ordered without cheese because didn't want cheese. Then I heard them laughing about it in the kitchen from my seat (so thanks for that!) As you can see in the photo, I started eating my salad and then saw half the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through which immediately made my stomach turn. Amazing food at amazing prices. I have never heard of a Country Fried Steak sandwich. It was made in a special way that it comes out like a burger patty. This little unassuming gem hidden in Rose Hill has a wall menu loaded with delightful dinner options, salads and a plethora of burgers! We were charmed by the simplicity of the place. Condiments in buckets on a shelf by the wall, water in styrofoam cups on request. The chef salad I ordered with chicken was sumptuous, delectable and filling! My husband and his mom split an order of fries with their huge, tasty burgers. We were satisfied and full when we left. I recommend this to everyone. We know we plan to return! read more

Did a local pumpkin patch today and hit Yelp for a suggestion and it led us here. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. I wanted to give it 9 stars but was limited to 5. I got the Blue Moon (bacon, mushroom and Bleu Cheese) burger and a side of onion rings and it was great. The burger was savory and juicy to the last bite. The onion rings...I don't know what they put on them but they were the best I ever had. My wife and son had the chicken strip meal and they were both very happy. Youngest sone got a large fry as he wasn't too hungry and let's just say I'm surprised they didn't bring it out in a bucket. The large fry was more of a huge basket. Definitely worth the stop if in the area and actually worth going off the beaten path if you have time and want to stop for good food out of the way a little off of 35! read more

We stopped in after an amazing chiropractic treatment in Rose Hill. We figured why not? The place was pretty packed for a Friday lunch break. Pretty plain without any frills of any kind. You step up to counter and order. The menu was posted on the board and also a simple menu to review. We shared a lunch plate. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw. I'll give it 4.5 stars. This was our first time to Louis. We really like burgers and are fairly experienced, LOL. We both like thin, smash style, crispy edge burgers. Louis is a bit thicker than smash style, not a "thick" burger yet thicker than smash style. We both had single burgers because they were 1/3 lbs patties. She had a hickory bacon cheeseburger and I had a single no cheese with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickle. They come wrapped in foil, which is nice. I myself added mustard from the single packeted mustard container. The burgers tasted great but aren't what I would consider "old fashioned" thin style burgers. The meat had plenty of flavor, the buns were a bit on the thick side but still good and the veggies were top notch- especially the tomatoes. We both thought the fries were top notch and were amazing at holding heat for the entire time we ate them, they weren't greasy and were seasoned very well. The onion rings were good but a tad heavy on breading, but still tasted great. It's a great place to eat, would be even greater if they would put a few fly traps out as there were many flies inside. No table waiting even though they asked for a tip when you order at the window. read more

I put these burgers up against the most expensive gourmet burgers I've had, and I'm talking $100 burgers here. Even if your burger is topped with black truffles, caviar, and three-hundred-year-old gourmet secret sauce from an ancient cast iron pot, it still wouldn't taste better than the burgers at this place. This restaurant is a mix between a cafe and a burger joint. The setting is nice and cozy, it makes you feel welcome. Personally I think the food they have is amazing, I love their burgers and lots if other selections from the large menu. On some nights they have specials that aren't always on the menu and they are delicious. I will reccomend this restaurant to anyone because I believe it is very good. read more

I've been hearing about Louis Rose Hill Cafe for some time and then last month I met the owner, Louis, at a birthday celebration for a mutual friend. Louis is a great guy and we had a good visit at the party. Tonight, three of us made the drive to Rose Hill. The place was busy, but the tables turn fairly fast and they do a good amount of take-out business so people are moving through fairly rapidly. We had two chicken fry steaks and one 16oz KC Strip. The chicken fry steaks were actual steaks, tender and with just the right amount of flavorful breading. The KC Strip was done perfectly to temp and seasoned just right. The sides were of ample size and tasted good. Service was good and we felt appreciated by Louis and the staff. The menu is huge for a small cafe and we look forward to a return trip to try other fare. We saw a lot of plates coming out of the kitchen and all looked good. Prices are reasonable and you can take your family there and not break the bank. Our three meals including two sides, plus side salads, a basket of onion rings and drinks was around $50 total and we were eating some of the higher priced items on the menu. If you are looking for good, local food at reasonable prices at a clean little cafe where the owner genuinely appreciates your business, then go check them out. We are glad that we did! read more
