He found matching material for the chair, and expertly replaced the damaged panels. The damage was more extensive than we thought, because it was both side panels, and the chair arms. It was good quality but the seat and back started peeling horribly not long after I bought it. Later I learned to read the fine print to look for the words "bonded leather", which is an updated name for vinyl. Luis gave me a fair price and I went to Tandy Leather to get the new leather. I'm so glad as the Father/Son team are fantastic! I took the chair one Saturday to get a quote. I wanted to make sure to get the correct measurements. Normally they prefer that you have the fabric before leaving the piece but I was going to get the fabric the same day. However, the fabric that I was going to purchase was now sold out and discontinued. Dang! It took another 3 weeks to find replacement fabric online. They told us how many hides we needed and where to purchase them. We could get leather from Italy that is exactly the color we wanted and is thicker, softer and more durable than the original leather. I salvaged an old armchair and ottoman a few years ago that had been sitting out in our garage ever since. Found Luis through Yelp and called with no answer so I loaded up the chair and brought and just brought it over to his shop on a Saturday morning. Once I brought him fabric he had the job beautifully done in less than a week. I was pretty sure this was spelled "Louis," but either way -- THEY ARE AMAZING! I randomly walked into their tiny (very tiny) shop while antiquing one afternoon. I was immediately impressed by the big wall of Polaroid snapshots of their work -- this wall must document the last decade or more. I mean, when did they stop selling Polaroid? Anyway, I showed them a picture of a chair that needed fixing, and they gave me a shockingly low estimate. They even pointed me out to a great fabric store. When we picked up the chair, it had been completely transformed. The chair, built in 1962, felt brand-new. Instead of buying a new chair, I spent about $400 to redo one we already loved. (And what's the cost of most chairs now -- $800 and up? Please.) That includes the cost of fabric. And the chair was done in four days. I've recommended them to several friends and family members, and I cannot thank them enough. They're currently working on a chair I got for $75 on Craigslist, and I can't wait to get it home! read more

We are currently remodeling a very contemporary house and we needed 8 dining chairs reupholstered.
