    Seafood Platter
    Ciara A.

It was a bright and sun shining day. Walked in and it smelled straight like restroom and smoke but I didn't let that deter me from ordering. This fairly big gentleman took my order I wish I would have known his name, I ordered a seafood platter and my sides were red beans and rice and coleslaw. Waited for my food for about a 10 minutes or so was very fast. Took my food to go and flew home to eat this delicious food. Ok let's get started with the food seafood platter consist of 2 boudin balls 2 shrimp and 2 fish 1 pepper 3 chicken tenders everything was seasoned well and tasted pretty good. Couldn't eat it all between just me, had to put some away. Now let's talk about the sides the cole slaw could have used some more juice but all in all it was ok if I could have choosing something else I would. The red beans and rice was good didn't need much seasoning I was use to my red beans and rice to be spicy but these was not spicy at all which was a good change. Red beans and rice 8.2/10 Coleslaw 4/10 Seafood platter 8/10

A friend recommended this spot and it's so good. Soon as I saw that it was a hole in the way I knew it was going to be delicious! The only issue is that current prices aren't reflected online/yelp so my food was a little higher than expected. It's still a lot of food and I have more than enough for later. Side note: If I had known it came within bread, I would've gotten a different side than hushpuppies

Let me preface this by indicating I order via DoorDash, and not directly with the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and tenders, the description under the shrimp indicates Jumbo shrimp, and boy was I disappointed. I just can't believe someone packaged this and thought to themselves, yes this is fair. The shrimp that I do have is not fresh and taste comparable to frozen shrimp I can buy at the grocery store. The chicken tenders taste dry like they were either over cooked, or day old. Additionally, the tenders themselves taste fishy, like literal fish, indicating that this establishment fries chicken and seafood in the same fryer. The one thing that is salvageable is that the two sides, one of Jambalaya rice, and Cole slaw (Cloyingly sweet) were quite large. But for $14.99, I at least expect to enjoy my food. Be weary of ordering here.

Shrimp Fried Rice Combo. I was staving and since Frenchys was closed decided to check this place out. A lot of food for the price!! Well worth it. The cashier was a sweet guy; I might have irritated him with my indecisiveness and he ended ringing me up for everything I named and had to give me a cash refund ‍ but overall the food was flavorful and I'd definitely return and highly recommend!!

Ordered over the phone, good customer service at pick up. Got the catfish and shrimp platter with fries and onion rings. With a side of hush puppies. Total was $11. Catfish = great! Well seasoned and fried. Fries = good seasoning! Were a little soggy from a tem minute drive. Onion Rings = okay. And would order again. Shrimp = a little shrimpy in taste. Well seasonedz Hushpuppies = were not good. Gooey. Will be back to try more menu items.

We ordered through door dash and we were hoping for the best. We were not disappointed, it was super yummy. The seafood gumbo was the best my hubby said that he has had in a while. The only small let down was the size of the catfish. One piece was more like half a piece.

Catfish and shrimp basket with fries and toast- additional side of red beans and rice and hush puppies.

one who I am not too sure I believe their claim. I decided to take a chance. It's very clean and the staff are friendly. They are family owned apparently with a few other locations. This restaurant was very clean inside. My husband and I ordered the catfish with shrimp with garlic toast , fries, red beans and rice, and hush puppies. It smelled so good in the car on the ride home and I just couldn't wait to eat. As you can see I bit into the simple toast and it was goood ! The cornmeal batter is very flavorful. I loved the fish most. The shrimp were butterflied and so seemed a bit thin. My husband likes the shrimp but I won't order that again. Also another favorite is the red beans and rice. I definitely will get it again. Overall I recommend them and will return to try the etouffee- the special of the house.

An absolute tragedy this place has become. Good was 10.38 and I ordered 2 tenders and 3 shrimps w 2 sides. The plate was virtually empty. Barely any fries and lousy shrimp pieces that were chewy. Never coming to this place again. They are trying to cut back on costs but not realizing that smaller portions and raised prices only works temporary... until all usual customers stop coming too.

It look so good the food was good just a big in my food and that was just so nasty I couldn't even enjoy my food than the manager had a attitude about a bug been in my food didn't want to give me my money back

Whoa. Pleasantly surprised by how clean and the great service here! I usually go to Navy Seafood and they specialize in fried seafood but the area is just too sketchy for me. That place is a strictly to-go place bc of that. The area here is not too sketchy, and there is plenty of seating area. They also have grilled/blackened dishes that look so amazing! I'll have to try that next time. I would def recommend dining in so that you can eat your food when it's hot and ready! Counter service was very friendly and fast. My to-go took about 10 mins. I got the seafood platter $14.50 3 catfish 3 tenders 3 shrimp 2 boudin balls 1 fried jalapeño 1 garlic bread +2 sides SO MUCH FOOD. -The catfish was seasoned really well and had perfect crisp. Large pieces. -the chicken tenders tastes like they made it in house, def restaurant quality tenders vs. fast food. -fried shrimp, more floury and not as crispy but still good! -boudin balls. OMG. So much flavor and packed with crab and shrimp! I would def order these if my entree didn't already come with it. -French fries are thick, they have blackened fish seasoning on the tables, add that for an extra kick. The only downside is I was supposed to get a side of potato salad, but they forgot about it. I'll have to double check my order next time!

The lines are diagonal, but you actually have to park your car straight Um, the exterior does not have a sign so you may get a little confused, because it's on the corner of Scott and McGregor but there's no sign indicating what the restaurant's called, but anywho. The interior of the place is surprising it's really cute, cozy esthetic, and has a large patio, that I didn't try because it's too hot. You order your food at the bar, my friend, and I both got a moscato. And no, thanks, it is box wine, and it was flat, and it wasn't good. My other friend ordered An old-fashioned and she said, it tasted pretty good. I ordered the catfish and grits, 10 out of 10. The catfish was fried perfectly. The grits were nice and creamy I. Also got a side of red beans and rice and they were fire. Really, really good. My friend additionally got the grits with shrimp. She said it was good. Now. Would I return back to this place? Probably not. Would I order pickup? Absolutely because the the one big issue, as someone else stated, the food is good, if you can get it, it took an hour for our food to come out. We had finished our drinks and were parched. They don't offer you water because again, you have to order at the counter and the food took an hour to come out and to the point some people that ordered after us got their food before us. I think there is literally only one person working in the kitchen. My recommendation is, if you want to check this place out, come partially full and with patience or call in your order for pickup. So yes, the food is good but I will not be dining in again

When we arrived, the host let us choose where we wanted to sit. I originally spotted a cozy booth by the window, but since we were asked if we'd like to sit where we could watch the TV during the Cup match, we opted for one of the high-top tables instead. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake because there isn't any lighting at the high tables. We could barely see our food. Adding pendant or drop-down lighting above those tables would make a huge difference. If you plan to visit, I'd recommend requesting a regular table or booth for better lighting. The menu is definitely unique, though I found it somewhat limited compared to other seafood restaurants. To start, I ordered the roasted oysters while my friend had a dozen raw oysters with all the traditional fixings. The roasted oysters were delicious, but there was so much topping that it almost took the shine away from the oysters themselves. Next time, I'd ask for lighter toppings and no scallions. For my entrée, I had the Halfshell Grilled Redfish. The fish itself was cooked beautifully--moist, flaky, and perfectly prepared. The only downside was the chermoula, which leaned far too heavily on the citrus. The lemon flavor completely overpowered the fish. As my side, I ordered the Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo. Unfortunately, it had a distinct burnt taste, which made it seem like the roux had been overcooked. A good gumbo should have a deep, rich flavor, but this one was overshadowed by that burnt note. My friend ordered the Jerk Fish Collars, and we both agreed they would have been much better if the fish had been marinated to allow the jerk seasoning to really penetrate. I also ordered a Lemon Drop Martini, and I have to admit I was surprised when it arrived in such a tiny martini glass, especially considering the price. Overall, the quality of the seafood is evident, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I think a few adjustments to the lighting, better balance in some of the flavors, and more attention to details like the gumbo and cocktail portions would elevate the experience even further. I'd definitely return to try more of the menu and hope for a more polished experience next time.
