Guys, THEY MOVED!!! New location is about a 5-7 minute drive from the old one. Check the address. As always, the food and service never disappoint. My go-to is the Overload over rice. When I got home, however, discovered that it was over egg noodles this time. No worries though. We come for the cream sauce and the large potion sizes, not the carb that's included, right?! Also, they offer a new tea made in house with Pineapple and Peach. To die for. It is sweet but not aggressively so. The inside has about 3 booths and counter seating now. The location is on the end cap of a strip where Level One Fitness is, across the street from Young Women's College Preparatory Academy. The service is always stellar and personable. The owner is a couple. The wife usually takes the orders but on this day, there was a vendor assisting with the new cashless payment and menu system. There isn't a lot of parking so you'll have to park around the corner, on the street, in front of the church across the street. If you're lucky, you might be able to snag one of the few spots right in front of the door but that'll depend on if there is a group fitness class going on at the gym. So extremely happy that they now have a store front and have expanded beyond the back counter in the gas station. Will return soon for some more Pineapple/Peach tea!!!! read more

This place is AMAZING! We're from Colorado and it was our first time visiting here but all the people working there was so nice to us. They gave us a sample of the Overload when we deciding and gave us some recommendations. We ordered the Overload and Philly cheese steak but all of them were so good. I've been wanting to try Bobobs for quite some time. We have family in town so we decided to order to go. We were told the order would be ready in 25 min. We got there with 5 min to spare but it took an hour for us to get our food. Bobobs is located inside of a gas station and is very much a hole in a wall which can be charming but in this case there was nothing esthetically positive. The area at night is roughhhhhh. The food itself was ok. The Hot topic was very salty. They also forgot our fries. That being said, they included a lot of shrimp, sausage, and fish. The main flavors you got were salt and butter. So Yelp provided me this suggestion and it looked so interesting, soul food out of a gas station. I consider myself fairly adventurous so why not? Walking in, you really wouldn't think much of this spot. It is literally inside the Valero gas station store but walk on towards the back and you'll start smelling various spices and food. I came on a Saturday night and there were a few people already waiting on their dinners. The chefs provided me some samples (which were amazing) and took my order and sent me on my way with a hefty portion of delicious smelling food. There is very limited seating available. I got the overload and it was so good (and just as good leftover). Its a lot of food and I echo someone's sentiment that it's a tad salty but you eat it with rice and it is perfect. The rice soaks up all that wonderful creamy sauce, you get chunks of chicken, andouille, and shrimp and again, they do not skimp on the protein. Between the mom and pop shop, wonderful chefs, and amazing food, I can't wait to come back and get more food. They have gumbo and fried foods that I need to get! When I went back the 2nd time I had the over load with a rice base and it was just as amazing... I think I prefer it with the grits tho and the amount of food for the price is worth every cent... 3rd time I got wings and fries (simple) but just as tasty, fresh and got my brother fish and fries and he loved it as well. So, you walk to the back of a gas station convenience store, that kind of atmosphere I think is always promising. It's a family business, and all of them were there. Super friendly. My husband told them it was our first time, and they immediately insisted on giving us samples. So nice. We had looked at the menu on yelp before going (as we all do, if you're still reading), and I held fast to my choice to get the Hot Topic, but my husband was swayed away from his decision on their fried food, and got the Overload. The pictures do not do justice to how delicious everything was. Rice is not my favorite starch, I'm more of a potato person, but you could put the sauce they make on a rock, and I'd probably try to eat it. The portions are really large. I saw the great reviews and decided to check it out. I knew it was in a gas station. We arrived and walked to the back. The menu was a bit confusing to me, and nothing jumped out. So I turned to walk away. One of the owners started calling out to me that I was making a mistake. I returned to the counter and asked what was good. He gave us samples of gumbo, overload, and the mix (I think I got that right). They were all delicious and well seasoned. We ordered a small gumbo and a 1/2 and 1/2 to go. The portions and amount of meat or fish were incredibly generous. The food was fantastic and delicious. The owners were so nice. Moral of the story: don't pass this place up; walk to the counter in the back of the gas station; ask what's good. They won't steer you wrong and will treat you incredibly well. read more

My favorite restaurant during my recent trip to Houston. It's located in the back of the Valero, lots of folks hanging out and watching the game while chatting with the chefs. I had the overload and it was excellent---the shrimp creme sauce was delicate, and the andouille and fish pieces were both cooked very well. I will be back to try the oxtail. read more

I was a little hesitant at first glance when looking up somewhere to eat as I saw it was in a gas station, but I'm glad I came. Honestly 5/5, excellent customer service all around. There was a little wait but the service and free samples alone overshadow that. Everything is cooked fresh and made to order. The owners are really nice as well and you can tell they care about what they're doing as well as conversations where you feel like they're getting to know you and not just treated like a typical customer. I always seen bobobs on Instagram...so me and my wife finally came to try them out. So we got there around 12:44...so they gave us a couple of samples and they was ok but my wife liked the chicken pickens(I think that's what it's called). So we put in and order for that and we ordered some wings and catfish. So we go outside and wait for our food...30 minutes pass by so we go back in they still working on our food. So they offered us water but we still had to wait another 30 minutes or so to get our food and I don't know if they were overwhelmed that day but it wasn't like they were really sorry we had to wait to get our food that long it was more like your food coming up. Now we coming waaaaaay from Rosharon to check them out most restaurants will be like I put some extra this or that, but it was more like here yall go you food ready and thank you. I love to support my people but some of us need better customer service....I want be going back but I would love y'all to go try them for yourself maybe that was just a bad day for them. But for me I didn't like the food but like I said my wife love the chicken picken. I'm not trying to bash these guys but hope this help them to be more considerate about your customer cause an hour and some change is a longtime to wait for some wings and fish. read more

The Hot Topic has Shrimp, Blackened Catfish, rice & a great cream sauce! If you don't like your food sauced up, this isn't the place for you, but I love Sauce so it was a match made in heaven. The food came hot & Fresh! Everything was seasoned beautifully! The Shrimp was very tender & fresh. Catfish was great & wasn't gummy. Rice was tender Cream Sauce was a hit!! okay yall!! i went back to try something besides gumbo. i initially called because i saw on instagram they do oxtail saturdays. i had been craving oxtails since my last sunday funday but to my disappointment they wouldn't be ready until 5pm due to a rush earlier that day. i opted for chicken wings and fries. i placed my order otp and was told it would be a 20 min wait. once i arrived, i grabbed some drinks from the store and waited for my meal. the ambiance is amazing. the have a great playlist as other patrons were singing along. i picked up my food and headed home. i opened the box and it was like the ahhhhhh!! it had to be about 10 wings and fries. i thought it would've been whole wings but they were wing pieces. as an all flats girl, i would've paid the extra had i known. i took a bite and the difference between a flat and a drum did not matter. the chicken was crunchy and fresh. you could tell it was fresh oil because the chicken didn't have a smell. now, im not a chicken connoisseur but i love chicken. the fries were a little less crisp due to the chicken being on top but i added them to my air fryer and all was well. I paid $17.58 and it was worth the tap. i will definitely be back next saturday to try the oxtails. read more

Although it is situated within a gas station, do not let appearances fool you! Bobobs was extremely friendly and absolutely delicious. Their service was on point! When me and my wife first walked in, we were greeted with open arms and offered samples of items on their menu. We eventually settled on a half and half (which they filled to the brim), an overload pasta (which they also filled to the brim), and a sausage skewer and it was all delicious!
