I didn't expect this place to be next to a gas station, but based on past experiences, I had a feeling the food would be good. Ambiance: As mentioned, it's adjacent to a gas station, and you can smell the delicious cooking from outside. There's limited seating, and during my visit, it was unfortunately a bit warm inside. Service: The service was excellent, and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. One person managed all the orders while others delivered food to the tables. Food: The portion sizes were great for the price, and there were plenty of appealing options. I really enjoyed the Creole pasta with the boudin egg rolls. Although the pasta could have used a bit more seasoning, it was still tasty overall. I'd also recommend their lemonade, which was really refreshing. Overall: Despite the heat inside, limited parking, and seating, I would definitely recommend checking out this spot. I wish them much success in the future!

    Greens watered down!!

I haven't visited in a while because the taste of the food is ALWAYS INCONSISTENT. So I went today and got two sides(I hardly eat meat) Mac and cheese and greens. The greens tasted HORRIBLE... like swamp water the gators ish and pissed in. The greens tasted like when you clean the dirt off them but didn't drain the water.. you just cooked it AS IS. The Mac n cheese was tasteless also but not as bad as the greens. I drop off but decided to call to inform them because they can't be aware. The response I CANT DO NOTHING BOUT IT... MY COOK DONT COME IN TIL LATER ANS I HAVE A BIG POT. I stated ma'am just go taste them they are really bad and I also told her I'm not looking to get a refund. You are intentionally having ppl waste time and money on something that is horrible.

Baby! Am I in Houston or Nawlins'? Flavor lives here! I have passed by this place for years and have always wondered what went on inside regarding food. Was it a regular restaurant or a catering kitchen? I wasn't sure until I saw another Food Reviewer dine here. With nothing but good things to say I decided to try it for myself. This cute spot sits next door to a Shell gas station in the 3rd Ward on O.S.T. It's where "Yumminess" resides! Lol. Your Cajun/Creole staples are here! From gumbo, to etouffee, and beignets it's a flavor bomb going off on all angles. Don't come for the looks of the place come for food and stay for hospitality! Shout out to Neicey who took good care of me! She even gave me a sample of their chicken/sausage gumbo without me asking! That gumbo?!?! Chef's kiss! For my first time, I had to go with the Chicken/Sausage Gumbo in addition to their Fried Fish Platter w/ Fries to test things further. As mentioned, the Gumbo was superb, and the fries were seasoned well and served hot. The fish, fried hard, was fresh and flaky. My platter came with their signature sweet tea of which Neicey gladly made into an "Arnold Palmer" for me. Thank you, Neicey! Seating is inside only, no patio. Limited spacing, and not really conducive to large parties of people. There enough parking which should not be an issue. This is truly a great spot to try out. Why not treat yourself to some good eating!?! You won't be disappointed. I know I'll be coming back, for sure! Enjoy, and bon Apetite!

The menu posted on Black Houston Restaurant weeks

Nah I'm good. Now it could be me. I went for Black Houston Restaurant Week. The website is misleading or they are because the menu does not specify certain days they are participating in BHRW but when I came they said its only on certain days. Well this means they are not really participating because they are just offering daily specials that they offer anyway. I tried the loaded heaven which was a catfish fillet, seafood dressing, etoufee and a piece of bread. The fish was good, fried perfectly. The dressing was too running if that makes sense. It didn't have any seafood and the etoufee was a tad salty. The wings were salty and the fries was cool. Overall this is another spot that gets seasoning confused with salt. They not the same. I probably won't be back but I encourage you to try for yourself. The lady talking my order was cool and the place appears clean. I didn't try the daiquiri because i was good with the half eaten food I tried

Creole Kitchen and Daiquiris is a bit unassuming when you drive up. It's an attachment to a convenience store and gas station, which might dissuade some from trying it out...but I am so glad we stopped in! While one can tell the building is a bit older, the decor is very inviting, colorful, fun, and immediately makes one think of Mardi Gras! There was a cute photo opportunity with the name of the restaurant surrounded by glittering masks and big ol' beads! The staff MAKES this restaurant! Everyone we encountered was super friendly and gave us great recommendations, but Koi really stood out! He was kind, very personable, and had the most welcoming smile. He even gave us complimentary Arnold Palmers since it was our first time in! I ordered two appetizers - the boudin egg rolls and the meat pies. Both were crispy, flaky and delicious! The boudin egg rolls were warm boudin rice egg rolls with melty pepper jack cheese, while the Natchitoches meat pies were a flavorful combination of ground beef, pork, and bell peppers - a bit greasy, but very good! For my entree I ordered the gumbo jeaux. Pretty decent gumbo with shrimp, chicken, and sausage. The roux was very well-done; the protein was a little chewy, though. My friend ordered the crawfish ettoufee, which she let me try, and it was yummy! Serving sizes were very generous. I will definitely be going back to try more off the extensive Creole Kitchen menu! The stuffed potato bowl and Cajun pastas look amazing.

Very nice greeting and service. We mainly went to get gumbo. We ordered fried fish and shrimp, got gumbo and greens and fried chicken. We decided to get it to-go. It is a small space inside, two regular tables on one side and two tall tables on the other side. All four tables had guest. Clean inside and music playing. The fried fish and shrimp is fried well and very tasteful. I like my fish fried hard and it was. It comes with two hush puppies and they are so delicious and a soda. The fried chicken wings are a bit salty. Now here is the no. The greens are way to sweet. As soon as I opened the bowl of gumbo it didn't smell good, the roux was yellowish, we tasted it and It does not taste good at all. We let our sons taste it and they both said the greens and gumbo does not taste good. The greens and gumbo was definitely not what we expected.

    Gumbo

Imagine getting your wisdom tooth removed and can barely eat, you order gumbo and it's gravy and rice. When I say I'm mad, I mean I am beyond angry. What is this? Why would you serve me gravy and rice with a crab and shrimp added. I am from Louisiana and creole. This isn't roux. It almost tastes like a pack of gravy from the store that you just add water to. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Also, please get rid of the AI ordering service!

The drinks are what will keep this place open! The young lady at the front was sweet. Food: While the food is enjoyable, it's food we could've made at home. That may actually be a plus for some, though. We ordered online and it took only 10 min for it to be ready and it was hot and made to order. Everything was enjoyable but I hate I spent $16-$18 on the poboy because the bread was dry and there wasn't very much shrimp on it. The meat pie is their own take on the Jamaican pie and regrettably $12.99 for 2 and tastes like seasoned ground beef. Go to a Jamaican restaurant and get two authentic ones for $8 Having more fries would've been nice as well. We paid roughly $54 for everything. I'm be back for the drinks

Seafood platter, hush puppies, and Red Beans & Rice with Smoked Turkey

The food is amazing here!!! Highly recommended. My wife and I had the seafood platter and red beans and rice with turkey on the side and it was incredible. The food came out in a timely manner. And the catfish was cooked to perfection.

    Creamy Creole Heaven

Food was very tasty, if not a little salty. However, the portions are absolutely abysmal for the price they're charging. I only took like a bite from the dish in the picture below, which costed a whole $22.

    Crispy Wing Platter
    Shatoyia N.

I went here for the first time today due to the hype from social media. Let's say I was very disappointed. As most reviewers stated...the lady taking the order was rude and seemed like she wanted to be elsewhere. We placed our order online so upon arrival it wasn't ready which was no big deal. The lady put dirty napkins in our Togo bag with our food. The place needs a good cleaning. The floors were sticky, tables dirty etc.. We ordered the wings and fries/bake potato with shrimp, chicken and sausage. The wings tasted like it was cooked in old fishy grease. The bake potato had an empty crab claw in it (pic attached) which I bit into smh! What if I chipped my tooth or swallowed it considering it shouldn't have been in the meal from the beginning. They are next to a gas station so parking can be a challenge at times. Overall, I think they have great potential if some changes are made.

Today, I had one of the best meals you could get from a location connected to a gas station. I have been searching for a place with fried fish and shrimp. I've driven past this location for several weeks, since moving on this side of US 288 but just didn't have a clue what I was missing. From walking in the door to leaving out with my leftovers, the experience was wonderful. The cashier Icy was very informative and helpful when deciding on the meal. My roommate and I settled on the Super Platter for Two that comes with double French fries. We subbed one order for mac & cheese, per Icy's suggestion. We also ordered soft drinks, fresh lemonade and Southern Sweet Tea. We sat down at one of the five tables inside the small end-cap storefront. There was a video on loop with the owner cooking some of her signature dishes. It was edited like a social media short or reel, so it was cute and entertaining. She showed various drinks she paired with the entrées and appetizers, as well. The food was packaged in to-go containers. Sealed to-go utensils are also given, for convenience. The platter was overflowing with piping hot, fried goodness. Shrimp, wings and hushpuppies swamped the container while two large fish fillets at the base of the plate. One bite of a French fry and a swig of the Southern Tea and I knew I had made the right choice. Each bite, from the mac & cheese to the wings, was perfectly seasoned and expertly crafted. While the fish was thick and flavorful, I would have preferred a thinner fillet, fried extra crispy, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. To end such a delicious meal, I ordered a separate dessert of Banana-LESS Pudding. It was everything I love about this classic Southern dessert, especially the no bananas part!!! The Roommate is a Banana Pudding PhD LOL, so the absence of fruit made him suspicious but even he was impressed with the silken texture, Chessman cookie topper and graham cracker crust. Balanced flavor, thick pudding and portioned appropriately. The entire experience was so good, in fact, I asked to speak to the Manager Ashley so I could express my contentment and joy. The menu is diverse, allowing for vegetarian/pescatarian tastebuds to be satisfied. Healthy portions, seasoned like your Big Mama would make and friendly service make for an unforgettable meal in a fast-casual setting. I hope to see this business bloom and expand to a brick and mortar within the next year. I will certainly be adding this as a new favorite option in my restaurant roulette.

For example, the Bellaire location has the new Viet-Cajun flavor of sauce that hasn't debuted here yet (though you can DIY a mix). (Review is for July 2026 if they've updated since then) We got here at 6:05PM and got seated with no issues. Ordered the following: Combo #1 with extra corn and potatoes (3.5/5): Crawfish isn't in season, so don't be surprised at my low rating. It's still great and flavorful all around. Garlic Noodles with Shrimp (4/5): Still incredibly rich and buttery and garlicy and great for a palate cleanser. I'd skip the shrimp; you get eight pieces for $10 extra and that's not really worth it. Crawfish Beignets (4.5/5): Still a fantastic appetizer. Comes out hot, crispy, buttery, and is a really indulgence. 1 lb. Little Neck Clams (4.5/5): I liked these more than the crawfish tbh. It really does depend on what's in season. Very easy to eat, very flavorful. Service was generally good but our server seemed slammed; it took a long time to get water refills and to place extra orders (we got a second order of beignets to-go). Market price for crawfish is high and they're not in season, so don't be afraid to ask. The Combo #1 in July 2026 was $22. Overall, I'll probably be back during crawfish season especially because it's more convenient for me than the Bellaire location, but the Bellaire location has it beat for general atmosphere after the remodeling and much better options for mixes there.

The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.

I don't even live in Houston, but my LOVE for Rouxpour is real…read more I've only been during happy hour, but they do. not. miss. The vibes? Incredible. The music? YEAH, they understood the assignment. The gumbo is finger‑licking good -- argue with somebody else about it. I get the seafood version minus the sausage, and I clear that bowl every time. The Chargrilled Rockefeller? That's the one you call your mama about. Big, flavorful, perfect. And the deviled eggs... listen. I don't even like deviled eggs, but these? My mouth is literally watering thinking about them. Smooth, creamy yolk, perfectly seasoned shrimp on top -- a combo I didn't know I needed. The crab cakes? Chef's kiss. Packed with fresh crab, and that aioli is doing exactly what it needs to do. The only miss for me was the crab and asparagus -- it just wasn't giving. No flavor, no cohesion... just no. The crème brûlée is delicious, but I'm still wishing they made beignets. Now the drinks? Top 2 and not number 2, do you hear me? The Mexican Martini and the Texas Blueberry Martini -- TEA. (Yes, the little tea‑finger gesture is happening.) And the staff? Amazing. I actually found out I was laid off while I was sitting at happy hour, and the way they comforted me... You would've thought they'd known me for years. They turned one of my hardest moments into something warm and memorable. I'll never forget that. Rouxpour has my whole heart.
