The wing epidemic has struck this place, so they didn't have wings for sale. I ordered the following: Boudin chips A sampler of fish and shrimp. A 3 meat plate with 2 sides (ribs, smoked chicken, sausage, collared greens and beef baked beans Peach cobbler. The food comes out hot and fresh! Let's get this over with...the people can cook. Really good flavor with the fish, shrimp, bbq sauce and peach cobbler. Decent taste on everything else. The meats were not tough at all and came off the bone rather easily. They offer free refills on their teas. They do cater. You should seriously consider them catering your event. I'll be back to this place. The place was closed on Friday during alleged work hours, the ambiance is scary, looks as if in an area with not much safety, at least the people don't abide the traffic laws. Me and my boys stopped in for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good, the bun had a nice toast to it which gave it a nice crunch when biting it. The pork was tasty. I also had a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was good, but was too salty for my taste. It was not heated all the way through, I believe it was in the refrigerator and was taken out as a portion and heated up, but not enough. One of my sons had the smoked chicken plate. It had nice smoke flavor, the meat was not dry but not as moist as I'd like or expect. The baked beans were very good with pieces of brisket mixed in. My other son had the baked potato with brisket. He said it was very good. Overall I'd say that this is a good place to eat. I will definitely come back and give something else a try. read more
