breakfast includes both an a la carte menu and a buffet filled with a wide variety of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, juices, cured meats, cheeses, and other breakfast staples the hot dishes were impressive. the poached eggs on the eggs benedict and even the scrambled eggs were some of the best ive ever had, perfectly silky, soft, and rich with golden yolks. the fluffy pancake also paired wonderfully with the berry compote the pastries were good too. the croissant was buttery and flaky, while the banana bread and muffin were soft and moist. i also enjoyed the assortment of cheeses and cured meats, especially the calabrese and smoked salmon it was quite busy during breakfast, so service was understandably a little slower at times. the drinks were the weakest part of the meal. the london fog and chai latte both tasted fairly watered down overall, it was an abundant breakfast with plenty of variety. louiza is a wonderful way to fuel the day before exploring banff! read more

Breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing! You order your hot foods from your server and the cold foods are self-served around the restaurant. They even have a kids section for treats and goodies. All the ingredients are so fresh and clean. Well maintained and prepared so nicely with the nicest staff! It is bright and fresh with a view of Lake Louise as your backdrop. Still full thinking about my breakfast this morning. Also was able to enjoy dinner at Louiza. The entrees were lovely. More of a Mediterranean twist for dinner. We ate here twice. The first was a lunch. We had just come back from a hike to little beehive and we had breakfast at the Lake Agnes Tea House (check out my review!) and so we weren't very hungry. But we decided to join my husband's parents for lunch/socializing. Citrus & Oregano Halloumi Gyro (G) (D) (VEG) | $27 flatbread, hummus, arugula, garlic sauce, pickled peppers, mint, cucumber -I actually hate gyro. I took a bite out of my husband's and then I made him halve it, it was so good. I told the rest of our party how good it was, so we came back the next day for dinner. Coconut Pineapple Tres Leches (D) (G) | $16 soft coconut sponge, smoky caramelized pineapple, toasted coconut & chantilly cream -I loooovve tropical desserts. That is why I go to Alberta, Canada. This was an interesting fusion however. The pineapple was yum and the coconut - I don't know why this isn't more common! I also splurged a little and ordered a lavender latte. They use 1883 syrups, so I bought myself a bottle of lavender to compare at home. Our dinner was also very good. This time I had lavender lemonade. I can't recall what others ordered other than the eggplant parmigiana. The manager and the server both worked our tables. They were both very friendly and professional. Pan Seared Canadian Pickerel (D) (G) | $68 warm niçoise vegetables, fresh cucumber salsa, herb-crusted white fish with prosecco caviar butter -I just remember I never had pickerel, so I wanted to try it. It was good. But not as good as the trout from the Juniper (see my other review!) Cannelloni Bolognese (D) (G) (N) | $45 san marzano tomato, fresh basil pesto | baked with parmesan white sauce -"It was fine" Overall, I think I liked the gyro more. If I had to choose between this place and the Lakeview Lounge, I would probably choose the Louiza. I like the decor more, there isn't that loud music. It has better lighting. Located right by Lake Louise and the only restaurant accessible by non-guests. There's a patio area and inside seating. Since it was pretty hot out, we decided to sit inside instead. Luckily we did because about 30 minutes later, the rain came. The menu is limited and I ended up getting the Bolognese. I thought it was just ok, nothing to write home about. Just keep in mind that the prices here are a little higher. The restrooms are nice and clean vs. the ones by the shuttle drop off area. So I would recommend you use the facilities here before heading to the shuttle. The dining room is pretty big and can accommodate larger parties. read more

I had grabbed a nice serving of berries and plated it well with yogurt and nuts, only to begin eating and find mold all over the strawberries. I was very disappointed. Patricia was our server, and she truly saved our trip to Lake Louise. On May 31, the weather was far from ideal--snow, rain, and temperatures around -1°C. We had traveled all the way from Toronto to see Lake Louise, and after lunch we were ready to leave, disappointed by the conditions. Thankfully, Patricia suggested that we take the hike up to Fairview Viewpoint before heading out. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Once we were on the trail, the trees sheltered us from the rain, the wind died down, and when we reached the viewpoint, we were rewarded with the breathtaking lake view we had dreamed of seeing--the same stunning scenery we had seen in photos online. Thank you, Patricia, for your excellent service, the wonderful conversations, and most importantly, for recommending that hike. You helped turn what could have been a disappointing day into one of the highlights of our trip. read more

restaurant staff was VERY rude. service was slow when we went for lunch. returned back another day for dinner only to be then turned away for not having a room at the hotel even though we have been prior guests. The restaurant was completely empty not one guest sitting and they refused to serve us even though it was before any kind of dinner rush. Not to mention when we tried to book a reservation the gentleman who answered the phone was RUDE and dismissive. I guess they don't value patrons who aren't currently staying with them regardless of past experiences. the whole interaction felt like a humiliation ritual to those they look down upon, watch out - they only treat you well while you stay with them, and then you are kicked to the curb. I would NEVER recommend this place, it does not fit the welcoming experience of Lake Louise or the surrounding areas. best to go somewhere else. don't bother booking here. read more

We had made dinner reservations the day of on a Thursday night at 7pm. The staff were all so pleasant. They accommodated our request to sit next to the window (it was a four person table and we were a party of two). The noise level of the restaurant was low; the music wasn't loud at all. We ordered the Garlic cheese bread, Mediterranean market fish (halibut) and Burrata mozzarella linguini. Everything was so good! Very flavorful. We finished every bite. If you take a shuttle up here for a few hours be prepared to fend for yourselves. They welcome walk-ins but prioritize their guests. Which makes sense. It's the only place walk-ins can sit and eat here. But the service takes a very long time. They sat us outside in the sun because the inside was "congested". When I washed my hands the inside was 1/3 full. Maybe. You can't eat at the bar either... not sure why they won't serve food there? There were only THREE umbrellas outside. A poor mom was dumping water on her sons' heads to keep them cool. I saw them sit little kids in the sun because the parents were desperate to get a meal for their kids and themselves. It appears this place hasn't figured out a way to optimize their operations at all. They don't care how much you're willing to spend. Which is so so unfortunate. It could be much better. We were thinking about coming back to stay here at the hotel but not after this experience. The food was good but the overall experience really made us feel almost sub-human. No. Thank. You. There is no reason to treat people this way. Get it together AND make more money and great memories for families at the same time. Or just don't allow visitors at all. read more

French toast - the texture wasn't doing it for us Spanish egg cocotte - didn't love the lamb and egg combo Morning bocadillo - looks like there'd be a lot of flavor and taste but it was pretty bland The dinner was spectacular Scallops - in terms of taste, they were perfect with the sauces. The only problem is they came out cool/cold by the time they got to us Empanadas - these were small. Also they were on the sweeter side. They needed a better sauce as well Lobster spaghetti carbonara - this was phenomenal; 5 star dish. If we weren't so full, we would've ordered one to go Strip loin with gnocchi - maybe a little too much of the sauce on the steak, but it was still excellent -Dinner service was extremely slow. Getting back from the long hike to the Tea House, we were so excited to learn that we could eat at Louiza without a reservation and we managed to walk up and get a table. The food, drinks, and dessert were SUPERB. We ate every bite and the view of the lake and mountains simply cannot be beat. However, the star of our whole experience was our server, Helena. From start to finish, she took such great care of us and we loved her! The view, the classy setting, the incredible food, the kind and friendly staff. This is luxury! I feel like you can't come all the way to the mountains and not check out the beautiful lake and mountain view of Lake Louise, and better yet complete your experience by dining at The Fairmont's restaurant Louiza. We went for a hike and when we started to head back to the transit centre hub spot we noticed the servers out encouraging people to come and eat at Louiza. It was noon on a Saturday and we thought for sure the restaurant would be packed, but oddly enough it was very quiet and we were seated in a section all to ourselves for quite awhile. Service was exceptionally fast, which was appreciated with my hungry little ones. The simple kids menu offers a pasta menu, grilled chicken or fish, tomato cheese flatbread and chicken fingers. The menu is Mediterranean inspired and I had to try the Burrata Salad ($28) summer melon, jamón ibérico, crispy artichoke, pistachio, organic honey. This salad was incredible! It was such a feast for the eyes I didn't want to eat it, but once you start you can hardly stop! The flavors are perfectly and well combined. We also ordered the Grilled Beef Shish Kebab ($30) flatbread, hummus, garlic sauce, marinated tomato, pickled peppers, mint, cucumber and feta. So flavourful! And I wasn't sure about the mint but even with quite a bit of it I ended up really enjoying this dish. We finished off the meal with some of their ice cream - vanilla and pistachio. And the pistachio hands down was the favourite of the table. read more

Had a lovely time having lunch at Louiza restaurant with a great view. We were able to be seated as soon as we arrived at the back patio which only had a few other tables with patrons. There were no issues about seating us an hour before closing. The service we had the entire time was great, and other waiter was both attentive and pleasant. The food did not take long to come to us either, and it was well paced between the shared appetizer, our meal, and the dessert. We ordered the Burrata salad for the table which had great flavor. I did think it was rather deceiving, however, that the menu listed the dish as having 'crispy artichoke' which turned out to be one piece of a quarter of an artichoke used as garnish. The meal I ordered was the salmon plate, which was very underwhelming for $32. I would say there wasn't even enough salmon to call it a fillet size, and the additional things that came with it were very underwhelming and I was not left satisfied. On top of that, the salmon itself was cold and did not have much flavor. The star of the meal was by far the tiramisu which was very rich and delicious. If I come back to Lake Louise I think I'd just go here to enjoy their dessert. read more

If you like to just grab continental breakfast for $45 this is the place for you (or save yourself the pain and go upstairs to the Fairmont lounge) but the made to order food is no better than Tim Hortons or McDonalds and the servers don't really care to check on you to make sure what you received is ok, they just wait until you look done to drop off the check. In the morning this place is basically an expensive cafeteria with no care for service or food quality, they just want you in and out. Was looking forward to top notch eggs Benedict in a glorious location and it was just cold and awful with a slice of folded ham, cold seemingly untoasted English muffin and what appeared to be a hollandaise mix, not scratch made. Avoid breakfast unless it is included in your room rate. read more

Wonderful friendly staff from beginning to end couldn't have been more helpful! We had dinner which is small or large plates. we had 2 small plates and a Vegetarian Indian style Paella which we added chicken and Prawns to share! Amazing flavours, looks awesome, tasted awesome, the Protein was added to the dish not just laid on top! The staff had no problems with swapping items in or out of dishes! Came here for a special anniversary dinner during our visit to Lake Louise. We weren't guests at the hotel, but you can still make a reservation day of, but know that they will likely only give you late reservations. We sat at one of the other bars as we waited. There was a little hiccup with our reservation (system error?) but the host of the restaurant was very gracious and accommodating and gave us a seat by the windows since we were waited for a late rez time. Anyway, onto to the food, which was soo good! Literally everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress was very kind and brought us extra sauce and bread. A special shoutout to the plates which were so pretty. I had the pesto burrata which was so well balanced: Al dente pasta coated generous in fresh pesto sauce, creamy burrata, and crunch kale. I meannn. Would definitely recommend a meal here, but plan ahead for a wait if you aren't a hotel guest. read more
