Went there Friday at 7pm and waited until 7:30pm to be seated. Once we got seated and ordered we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for a hamburger and fries which takes 5 minutes to make. This happened as the owner believes that Skip the Dishes customers are more important than the customers that come in to the restaurant. Both the waitress and manager said that Skip the Dishes takes precedent. So I didn't get to eat as it was too late to eat now. Who wants to start eating a burger at 8:40pm. We were told to email the owner of the company ourselves. How is it my responsibility to advise the rich owner of the company that his business rules are not fair to customers that wait in line at their restaurant.. This review has nothing to do with the food but more towards the service. We drove an hour out to come to Lou's because of a recommendation. We were promptly seated in the patio area... which was what we requested. However, being first timers we were not aware that this was a smoking patio. The hostess forgot to mention it to us as well. When we sat down the table was super dirty so we asked the waitress to wipe it down. She was unhappy in doing so but obviously did it at our request. Food was amazing however the people around us smoking cigarettes ruined our experience. I feel we should have been advised that is the smoking patio. After our experience with the waitress we did not feel comfortable asking her to move. We quickly ordered our food and got out of there as soon as we could. Good food bad vibes. read more

I hadn't been to Lou's since they rebuilt it after the fire. The new restaurant/pub has got a great atmosphere and I love that they've included the natural gas lighting outside. It gives the outdoor seating area a warm vibe and it's a bit of a nod to the old restaurant. As for the food, my friend had the lobster and macaroni cheese entree, which she raved about. I decided to take a chance and have the filet mignon. The manager checked in with us to make sure our meals were up to our expectations. I'm pretty particular about my steaks, so I when it arrived medium instead of medium rare, I sent it back. The replacement came back a perfect medium rare. It was the best steak I've had for a long time...sweet, tender and juicy, and not over-salted. The vegetables were grilled beautifully and the roasted potatoes with all the fixings were good too. The manager checked back to make sure all was in order. I should also mention that our server was very attentive and gracious about me returning my steak as well. Having worked in the hospitality industry myself, I can appreciate good "service recovery". I wasn't made to feel that I was imposing at all. Five stars for Lou's! Yesterday I was at this place. I had the Jack Daniel's BBQ Grill Burger. The burger was very good and big with tomato, lettuce, pickles and onions. It is served with some homemade fries. My recent dining experience at Lou's Grill was excellent as usual. Dining at Lou's is always a treat, the hostesses and servers always make you feel welcome and make your dining experience as comfortable as possible. There is always someone with a warm smile to greet you as soon as you enter. Service is always quick; food comes in LARGE portions and is delicious! The chorizo Mac and cheese is a definite must try! For such a simple dish Lou's definitely delivers and elevates the flavour with their personal flair. The burgers are HUGE as well, and these portions allow you to bring home tasty leftovers so you can enjoy it twice! You will definitely not leave here hungry or disappointed. The ambiance of Lou's also makes the dining experience more enjoyable with dim lights, music and comfortable decor and furnishings it puts its clientele at ease and feeling at home. As for the drinks the sangria, whether white or red, is never disappointing and the perfect girly drink! When you first walk into Lou's you are greeted by a friendly face who will guide you to your seat in the restaurant. The drink specials, there is always something good to try. I prefer having a raspberry mojito as it comes in a cute mason jar. Lou's always has great food, wether your having a burger and fries or your looking for a steak and lobster tail. Absolutely delicious! and everything is HUGE. Service is always generally fast expect when its busy but you can understand that things can take a little bit longer to be done because they are making sure its done right and that means quality. Over all my visits to Lou's has been nothing but great and I highly recommend coming here if your in the mood for casual drinks or an enormous dinner to fill that empty spot in your stomach :) read more

I went to lous yesterday afternoon with my mom and uncle, food was ok.. not the best that I've had same with my families meals, I was half way done my drink and she kept pushing another one, same as my moms drink wouldn't even ask my uncle who had a sip left if he wanted another. When I had 2 mouthfuls left she took my drink away.. I was like oh I wasn't done and she just went to another table.. when my mom had a mouthful left she took it and put it thru the dishwasher. Lou's Grill is an incredible spot. It is a bar atmosphere that serves great food. Four hungry adults can't get through their nacho plate. My personal favourite is the Sangria but the pitcher. The rib appie and wings are great, and I haven't had a bad meal there. The portions are insane and reasonable. I always need a doggie bag. There are drink specials every night, but the only ones I can rememebr off hand are Fridays - Long Island Ice tea for $3.50 and Saturday nights it is Sangria pitchers for $13 something. read more

Charge me the $25 bucks for corkage, I'm good with that and you know what else, if you allow BYOW I will return, otherwise there are many other great restaurants in Abbotsford; Restaurant 62, Keg, that allow BYOW. Came here for a beer and an appetizer at 8pm on a Saturday. The place was extremely busy but we got offered the only table left in the patio outside and took it. Note to self: do not take the corner table in the patio. You will get slightly wet if it's raining, the heaters don't quite reach you, and you will freeze if it's cold out. Smoking on the patio is apparently allowed which, for us non smokers, is a deal breaker. We won't come back if we want to sit on the patio. Because the music was so loud inside and the atmosphere just so generally loud (way too loud to talk without having to yell) we probably won't come back to sit inside either. Went to Lou's for the first time today and had an amazing lunch. My reuben sandwich was the best I'd I'd ever had. Hubby Had a blue cheese bacon burger which he also raved about. The serving sizes were very generous with enough left over for take home for a snack later. I do believe management has been paying attention to the reviews left here because even though we were prepared for the lousy service so many have mentioned, it was just the opposite. Very unfortunate experience. As they say you are only as good as your last impression. Well today on Mother's Day, Lou's fell short, way short. We arrived at 10:00 A.M., hoping to beat the Mother's Day rush, and we did, meaning maybe 4 other tables were seated. Our server was not trained properly as she reached across my table setting (use the term lightly) on every occasion to serve my wife when there was plenty of room on my wife's left. When I asked about any Mother's Day brunch specials she laughed at me and simply said "No". OK, so we try to move on. My wife and I both ordered a rendition of their Eggs Benedict, and our son, their classic burger. Our Eggs B arrived and ten five minutes later, the burger arrived. Once again, the restaurant was NOT busy at this point. So by the time we were all in place to eat, the Eggs B's were cold and the server was no where to be found. The music was too loud and you could tell that there was absolutely NO consideration for this special day, shame on management and shame on the Chef for not getting somewhat creative on this special day. Maybe business is too good to try harder on certain days of the year. On these rare occasions that I write a review like this, I am also taken aback that the debit machine starts the tips at 18 percent, obviously I used the "other" button for tip. So, last night, I had a little adventure, which was some strange hybrid mix of a short roadtrip and a date. I don't know how it happened, but we ended up here. Firstly, the restaurant was incredibly loud. Mind you, it was Saturday night, and there was a birthday or two going on. However, considering how many sloppy lushes there were stumbling around, not knowing how to control the decibel of their voices, the cranked music wasn't really necessary. Our server was friendly and prompt, but she didn't understand my drink order at all. I requested a single shot of Absolut Peach with 7-Up in a tall glass. I specifically ordered a tall glass because I have zero alcohol tolerance, and a tall glass I can sip on for longer and more frequently without the booze going straight to my head. She brought me a single shot in a tall glass, and a tiny tumbler of sprite on the side. Essentially, what I would have gotten had I ordered my drink in a rocks glass. Not very bright, but she WAS friendly. Food was surprisingly tasty. I ordered the chicken, prawn and chorizo pasta, and it was delicious. Overall, my experience here was so-so. If you're in the area, I can see this as being a decent spot to come have a drink and a bite, but definitely not worth a trek if you're not. read more

Place was okay. No AC, fans or air circulation indoors. So on hott summer days if you can't get a table outside be ready to sweat indoors. Bar service was mediocre on a Friday night. Took about 8 mins or so to get refills and that was me calling out to them when I was finally done waiting. Drinks were good, solid pours. Food was good. I got their lobster clubhouse sandwich. What a horrible experience. We were seated on the patio, given menus and then completely ignored by the waitstaff, while two tables of young men that came in after us were served promptly. We waited for 15 minutes as the tables around us were taken care of, receiving their drinks etc while we were not acknowledged once. We ended up leaving, again without acknowledgment. My boyfriend and I were starving. He wanted a lounge/pub experience, while I wanted an intimate dinner date experience. The choice was easy. Lou's! He insisted we sit on the patio, which is typically dark, smoky, and a little crowded. Not what I was in the mood for, but I went along with it until the mosquito's forced us inside. Win for me, as the hostess grabbed our drinks and sat us at a corner table under the stairs. My strawberry caipirinha, was strong and delicious, and of course, you can never go wrong with a pale ale. Our server didn't skip a beat and quickly brought us our menu's. We had the hot wings to start. I ordered the chicken and prawn taco salad, a pleasant switch up from my usual Greek Caesar salad, and my boyfriend had the Cajun chicken sandwich. Both meals tasted great, however, my boyfriend couldn't wrap his head around why the sandwich was served on a baguette which left the chicken breast hanging off the sides. I didn't see what al the fuss was about on his side of the table. The sandwich was delicious! All in all, I love this place!
