We went on a Tuesday about 6:30 and got a seat right away. The hostess was friendly, sat Us and then told us about the specials. The server then arrived, didn't tell us her name and curtly asked us if we wanted something to drink. She brought our drinks, then took our order. My partner ordered prime rib beef dip which was excellent. I order the Kung Pao Chicken. The server told me it didn't come with anything on the side when the menu clearly states it did. What a horrible experience. We were seated on the patio, given menus and then completely ignored by the waitstaff, while two tables of young men that came in after us were served promptly. We waited for 15 minutes as the tables around us were taken care of, receiving their drinks etc while we were not acknowledged once. We ended up leaving, again without acknowledgment. We were expecting to have a lovely anniversary lunch at "the best pub in Abbotsford" and instead now we are hungry and pissed off. Also, let your poor waitresses cover up. I went to Lou's Bar and Grill with some friends after work to receive exceptional service and delicious food. I was thoroughly impressed with our servers beverage and food knowledge. She gave us wonderful recommendations for what we were describing and did not disappoint. At the end of the meal we asked her name, Sofie, and gave her endless compliments about her professional demeanor and good sense of humor. We asked her to pass on the compliment to her management but she seemed too shy to do so. Me and the hubby found ourselves in Abbotsford mid-afternoon looking for a relaxing, late lunch that was not fast food. The service was exceptional, nothing sat for long on our table, the servers very friendly. The decor was comfortable and stylish but by the end of our visit we felt bombarded by the loudness of the music could barely hear across the table at times... We ordered two drinks and two appys to start. I ordered a Caeser to drink and the spinach artichoke dip.. very bland, heavy, and covered in greasy, ordinary pizza cheese..it came with blue chips but I had to eat it with a fork because a chip wouldn't scoop without crumbling. The pita bread included on the plate was not much help either. Disappointing. My husband ordered a beer and some calamari, It was served with enough taziki dip with an insane amount of garlic (that lasted for days on my hubby's breath after eating it!) and he found the calamari very tender and tasty. Too bad the incredibly light, flaky batter would crumble off the squid before you could even get it near the taziki and it all just ended up in a pile on the plate leaving you looking at rubbery squid pieces, tentacles, and crumbs respectively. Another disappointment. We decided not to order lunch after this because we were afraid we would not feel like we got good value and the loud music was starting to get to us. The menu looked exciting but the mediocre quality of what we had been served so far and lack passion for flavor or quality did not seem to merit further ordering, and no free refills on soft drinks turned us off too...I guess you have to pay for all that great service, charming atmosphere, and nice bathrooms somehow... 2 mediocre appys, one GREAT Caesar to drink, and a bottle of domestic beer cost us $41 bucks including only a very modest tip. After that experience we walked out of there glad we didn't go through with a full meal... If someone else was paying I might be interested in going back...or maybe if we just wanted to get drunk and look at all the pretty ladies, the drink was great! read more

I have never been disappointed with Lou's Grill! Service is good and the food is better. The chicken wings are the best I have had and I tell everyone they are a must try. The mountain of nachos loaded with quality cheese, olives and hot peppers will easily feed three. The bacon wrapped scallops in Cajun sauce are mouth watering although pricey, but quality through and through. I also like the calamari, always tender. The pasta is delicious but a little on the rich side, so you will probably take half of it home. My experience at Lou's has always be nothing but amazing. On my last visit I had the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was delicious as usual. I went on a Wednesday night for a girl's night and we had martinis, which were on special. The staff is incredibly gorgeous and welcoming. The service was great and our server was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is really clean and has an amazing atmosphere. The food is good, but we were surprised that the restaurant allows smoking in the covered outside eating area. They even supply ashtrays on the tables to encourage smoking. We don't smoke, my boyfriend is allergic to smoke. It was our anniversary dinner there. We asked if we could move inside but it was very busy and our dinners came so we just ate and breathed in cigarette smoke the whole time. Which made for a very annoying, uncomfortable, nauseous experience. What restaurant nowadays allows people to smoke in an eating area? It's really hard to enjoy a nice meal when your nostrils are filled with horrible cigarette smoke. Lou's still does a roaring business but I think management should be more considerate of how the smoking makes other customers feel. I will return, but next time make sure that I'm seated inside. read more

We went there for dinner to celebrate 2 birthdays and came away much past extremely disappointed! In fact I was extremely that we spent $300.00 on out 5 meals being poor?! First the young girl manning the door kept us waiting for 15-20 minutes out in the hot sun. When we were finally taken upstairs they had a choice of several tables that we could be seated at and the back deck was empty also! Only a couple of people had come out of the place. We had gone early to avoid crowds. Ordered a caesar and it was not at all like the picture. Somewhat lacking! Bar sides ordered the fries came somewhat cold. The 2 steak and lobster meals very poor. The lobster pieces were chewy along with the mushrooms ben under the heat lamp for 6 hours! The rib steak had been sliced horizontally to make it thin.I have never seen anything like it! Lous Grill never disappoints! I decided to try the veggie burger that they have, and wow, it was great. The mushrooms and goat cheese, yum! I did take the buttermilk onions off of it because I found it made the burger to thick. But overall, such a great choice. I went to Lou's Grill a month ago for drinks and desert with my boyfriend for the first time. We went around 7:30pm to try and avoid the dinner rush but it was still quite busy when we arrived. We got sat quickly even though the restaurant was pretty full and drink orders was taken within 5 minutes of us being sat. I order the Jolly Rancher Martini which was one of the best martinis that I have ever had especially since I normally do not like martinis at all. It took a little bit of a wait to get our drinks once they were ordered but was understandable as it was busy. For desert I ordered the Chocolate Utopia, which was delicious. If you are ever craving chocolate, the chocolate utopia is the perfect choice. Lou's Grill is a great place to be. The food and drinks are great as well as the servers are very friendly and unlike some restaurants it has a very relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed not having to yell at the person sitting across from me while having a conversation as the music was at a nice volume and the tables were nicely spaced out that you did not hear word to word of other people's conversations. With the great drinks, food and atmosphere, I recommend this place to everyone! Being in customer service for the past 7 years, I have grown as a person and have learnt to work hard in a fast pace environment as well as being able to deal with any customer that comes into a place. I have great customer service skills that I believe only help Lou's Grill grow bigger as an established bar and grill. Lou's Grill functions so well because of the team that they have created and I would fit perfectly with the team as I am a team player and a hard worker. Not on a weekend night!!!!!! Extremely Loud and Very Smoky It was Saturday around 6.30PM and the place was busy. We were seated indoors; the outside patio is a smoking area with a roof. Our table was near a door to the patio, ever time the door was opened the ventilation system would pull the smoke indoors. We had to request a change to another table. I feel sorry for the staff. The place is loud. I mean "FRIGGING LOUD". There was no allowance in the design of the place for noise reduction. If worksafebc.com were to do a site visit on a weekend, it wouldn't surprise me if the exposure limits of 85dB would be exceeded. Our $28.00 per entree and our evening was a waste. Went in for a late dinner, yesterday, Wednesday. It was a steady busy but we managed to get greeted as soon as we walked in. Chose our own table in the bar area, the hostess told us the specials for the night and got our drinks order taken pretty immediately. Drinks came back quickly as we proceeded to place our order to the same lady. Very friendly and professional. She was very knowledgable on the dishes and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. Let me just say, I am a mac'n cheese fan and that was by far the best Lobster macaroni and cheese I have ever had. The Taco Salad was also fantastic. Full of mouth watering flavor making it impossible to stop eating. With no room left for dessert, we will definitely be returning to try and save room for the cheesecake. Over all it was a very pleasant experience and I will be recommending it to all of my friends. Always packed, but never have to wait for a table coincidentally. The food is so good. Burgers are fantastic. The Monte Cristo is delicious, my favourite. Spuds are great. I dont care for the ceasar salad cause they put anchovies in the sauce and i dont like that. Inside it is dark and very loud, music is super loud but great atmosphere. The patio is great, only downside is that there is smoking allowed and that is never fun when you're eating. The drink menu is great, love the specials and the staff is fantastic. If your looking for a welcoming authentic bar and grill, Lou's Grill is the place to go! The customer service is exceptionally good and made me feel very comfortable. The waitresses are quick and efficient, but also very informative about any questions I have. Every time I eat at Lou's Grill , I always go home satisfied and happy! My personal favourite is the brunch special. It is the best breakfast in town and its cheap and you get a massive portion for only $3.95! The drink menu has a wide variety of selection of anything you could think of! The prices are so good, no other restaurant compares. Portion sizes are huge and the food tastes pretty good. The reason for the 1 star is what my table and I witnessed in the kitchen. A patron had sent back a plate of nachos to get wrapped to go, and we happened to be looking over to see the server (without washing her hands first) peel the cheesy nachos off of the plate with bare hands, and continues to press palm down onto the cheese and toppings to squeeze it into a takeout box for a good few minutes. It was so gross my whole table of 6 turned around to stare into the kitchen in horror. Two other servers were standing around watching her man handle someone's food looking amused. I'm not sure if they had been upset with the customer who ordered the nachos but it was so gross what she did to them. For an establishment like this I'd expect the servers to handle food more carefully and be more cleanly about it. Disappointed to see so many staff were fine with this. We all felt really gross after seeing into the kitchen and will not eat here again. The server was blonde working Friday sept 6th afternoon in a leather skirt. Disgusted. Read good reviews about this place so decided to try it when we came thru Abbottsford. Staff was friendly, but never been a big fan of dimly lit restaurants although I suppose if you're there to watch a game you don't want it too bright. Anyways the prices are super reasonable for the huge portion size and the quality and taste of the food was fantastic. They have a well rounded extensive menu with interesting ingredients that make their menu pop. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich with fries. It was delicious filled with juicy flavorful chicken, guacamole, cheese, bacon , onions, tomato, chipotle mayo. My hubby had the Swiss royale burger. It was huge and he said it was good! His yam fries were great too but he said they needed to be served with a different sauce. Our cousins hubby had the jack Daniels burger which he devoured quickly. Must have been good! I had my first experience at Lou's Grill last night and I must say I was impressed. We were greeted and seated right away and our server came by almost immediately to let us know the specials of the evening. The menu is huge so we had a hard time deciding but highballs were on special so that made drinks very easy. Our drinks and appies arrived very quickly and the calamari was perfect. We did ask for a side of mayo for the yam fries that arrived a little too late but that's okay as we just used the leftover tzatziki and it was delicious. When our entrees came out I was impressed with the sheer size of the portions. I've been admittedly snacking on my brother's leftover pasta all day today. I got the steak sandwich and the server was very good about there being no black pepper on it. It was hands down the best steak sandwich I'd ever had and let the server know. My side caeser salad was a little too heavy on the dressing making it a little soggy but tasted so good I ate most of it anyway. My only complaint would be that the server was a little slow to bring the bill and grab us our change but she was busy and there was a wicked sweet surf show on the TV that was grabbing our attention for the most part. But we had several helping us and I literally had to re-start my sentence to my friend 5 times at one point because of how many times they attended the table for random things/questions - all we ordered was wine and fries. Also, the place did not flow at all. You have a family type atmosphere with the furniture that looks like it was purchased at The Brick, log/wood and deer antler decor with average, very conservative artwork. But then you have insanely loud gangster rap and EDM clubbing music blaring so loud, I couldn't even hear myself as I strained to yell-talk to my friend. I live in Vancouver and have been to countless bars, pubs and restaurants, and I've never experienced such an outrageous and ill-fitting music situation. It gave the place a super trashy vibe that is unfortunate seeing as it is one of the few pubs in Abbotsford. Someone is not on board with the times. Won't be returning. read more

My last visit i had dinner feature steak and crab its availible everyday and it was the best meal i have had in a long time. Amazing patio to wind down after work and will have left overs for lunch always because the portions are HUGE. Love the music selection and how the employee are always smiling. I can tell its a great place to work because they all seem happy to be there. Sunday funday is my favorite !!!!!!because their entire weekly drink specials are all on special.
