Finding a good wine bar is tricky for me because while I love wine, my husband prefers cocktails. LouVino is a perfect spot for us because they have a great menu of creative and tasty cocktails to compliment the spectacular wine offerings. The wine list is perfect for everyone, no matter if you prefer sweet to dry or somewhere in between. When we're out with friends and trying to find something to fit all our different tastes, the servers are super knowledgeable and always able to guide us to a perfect bottle. Let's not forget the food! It's definitely not just an afterthought like you get at other wine bars. And it's great for weekend brunch as well as dinner. I came here for drinks on a weeknight, and I was pleasantly surprised that Indy has cute, classy wine bars. (I'm not from these parts.) They had a good wine selection, including some creative flights. The happy hour menu had some upscale bar bites. I got the duck fat fries with parmesan, which went great with my rioja and helped coat my stomach before the drive home. We were on their cute little patio, which is nice for peoplewatching and dogwatching. The inside was nice as well. Service was excellent; attentive without bein overbearing. The eggs were the only good tasting thing. Their brunch menu is very limited. the description of the country sounds good i mean it's just fried dough but they did not deliver. Their mimosas are $2 or you can get a $15 carafe which is why they stay packed on Sunday's -- for me this still isn't worth it. I personally prefer champagne bottles and juice on the side. I didn't leave with even a buzz. My friend had the pancake tacos: pancakes were not cooked fully, it was hard to eat/hold as a taco, overall taste wasn't good. This is my new favorite brunch spot! They had the best French Toast I've ever tried, and the fluffiest biscuits. The salmon eggs Benedict is perfect, and I highly recommend it. Everyone told us to try the biscuits and gravy, and honestly I had low expectations, having grown up in deep south and Texas, where biscuits and gravy are a way of life. OmG, truly, the best I have ever had. They use a specialty sausage for the gravy thats amazing.. gush, gush... The bloody Mary was way to strong and spicy for me, but my partner loved it. Forgot to get a pic tho. My first fried green tomatoes, and they were delicious,. Very crispy with a honey mustard kind of sauce. And was expecting deliciousness from the stuffed French toast, not disappointed. Crunchy and creamy and sweet. Only knock on the whole experience, only had milk for the coffee, no cream.. What a yummy spot on Mass Ave! Had dinner with some friends at Louvino and there was no wait shortly after they opened at 5. We decided to split several dishes, ordering the Brussels Sprouts, Fried Chicken Tacos, Crab Cakes, Steak Frites, Duck Fat Fries and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Beignet. Everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the Fried Chicken Tacos - they came with mashed potatoes and gravy and it reminded me of Thanksgiving on a plate. The Brussels Sprouts had a cilantro lime sauce drizzled over them, along with corn and then roasted. Delicious! We will be back to try some other things on the menu and possibly brunch! read more

Went to LouVino this past Saturday for brunch to celebrate my birthday. My public outtings have been far and few between this year, but it was nice to meet up with family and friends to celebrate. There were 7 of us total and the restaurant is taking precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety. All of the servers were masked up and they took our temperatures at the door. Tables appeared to be seated sporadically, providing ample distance and where we were seated upstairs, the tables were very spaced out. (Sidenote: I booked our reservations online via OpenTable and I requested a bar height table and marked that it was a special occasion, but neither request/comment was acknowledged. By the time I had arrived, one of my guests had already been seated, so I didn't make a fuss about wanting a tall table.) Our server, whose name I can't recall unfortunately, was very nice and service was fast too. We placed our food orders and it seemed like by the time he walked downstairs to the kitchen, the food was ready! It took longer for the mimosas to be prepared! I had the blood orange mimosa and it was TART! Make sure you're a big fan of blood oranges before ordering that. I also had the Croissant BLT and the Loaded Baked Potato Tots. Both were very delicious. I personally could've done without the fried green tomato on the BLT, as it was a bit tough, for lack of a better word and the Loaded Baked Potato Tots shocked me because they weren't what I expected when I ordered them, but they were piping hot and just what the doctored ordered on a cold, wintery day! The brunch menu is small and concise, making it easy to quickly make a choice (sometimes big menus can be overwhelming) and I will definitely go back to experience their lunch/dinner menu soon! read more

Lou Vino is the best spot downtown for an upscale feel with affordable prices. I have been for both brunch and dinner. Brunch is amazing. Not a overly huge menu, but everything that is on it is amazing. The BLT croissant is drool worthy. $2 mini mimosas or $8 huge mimosas! Wine and small plates at dinner time. I ended up at LouVino by chance. My partner and I were walking down Mass Ave and wanted to grab some food. We stopped in to see if they were still serving food. We came at the literal last minute before the kitchen closed. I felt bad because I used to work in a kitchen and last minute orders can be annoying, but everyone working assured us it was okay. We ordered the scallops, tacos, and salmon risotto. The food was delicious. Great quality and made with care. Unique recipes that really worked and were full of flavor. I was impressed, especially since we came right before the kitchen closed. Our server was also incredible. She was very friendly, accommodating, and even offered to take our picture. Their wine menu is expansive. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc and my partner ordered one of the flights. I loved my glass of wine but I wish I had gotten a flight as well! Came here on a double date a few weeks ago and we enjoyed our time. The food was delicious, I had the Brussel sprout salad and the fried chicken tacos. I am not a fried chicken person but I was blown away by the way they executed the tacos. My boyfriend also got the tacos and he was also blown away but how incredible they were. The one thing that got me off guard with the food was small the portion were. They were so small, my friend had to order more. I was not expecting that. I also got the wine flight but was underwhelmed by it. I was better off getting a glass of wine. Lesson learned though :) The hospitality was great! I searched "mimosa specials" and ended up at LouVino! I loved the ambiance, the location and the food. I ordered the pancake tacos and the large mimosa ($6 for a 12 oz cup). The sausage used in the pancake tacos was very flavorful, some of the best sausage I've had. I was not fond of our server-avg height, short blonde hair working the upstairs. We had to wait long periods of time for extra syrup, refills, for him to take the plates away. A party of 6 came in after us, ordered their food, ATE and left before us. He was half-assed attentive to us the entire time. Despite the waiter, I would still go back to LouVino-the food is great and the establishment is clean and inviting. We had a reservation for dinner on 9/12/24 and we're excited to try it out. I made a reservation through Open Table and one of the reviews there, from 8/6/24, mentioned the air conditioning in the restaurant was out and it was a miserable experience. I figured, that was over a month ago in the hottest part of summer-SURELY it's fixed by now. As soon as we walked in you could feel the heat and stuffiness of the place and I was worried but thought, maybe I'm paranoid from the review and I'm right at the open front door. They sat us but the temperature didn't change. The server brought us water and I asked if it was always this warm in the building and she said their air was broken. I was kinda shocked. It was a 90 degree day and dang close to the same inside this building with no air movement! We couldn't imagine sitting and eating a hot meal in it. We chose to leave as we knew we would be miserable and wouldn't be able to enjoy anything either. We may try it some other time, but the fact that the basic comfort of the temperature wasn't a priority kind of left a bad taste. read more

Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being bothersome. Impressive wine list! Reds, whites, roses, and bubbles. So if you have trouble making decisions like I do, the flight is the way to go, the Jennifer Lawrence bubbly flight plus you can add cheeses for 3 dollars. Food time, Lou Vinos specializes in small plates, to start we had the duck frites in a mason jar with an aioli esqu mayo dipping sauce. They were delicious! Went for Devour and everything was literally 10/10. The wine flight European Vacation was top notch. I enjoyed the "cheese please" add-on, as well. Everything was amazing, and I have nothing to offer in terms of helpful critiques. Staff was attentive and swift! My friend and I did one of each devour option so we split everything. I had a great time at Sunday brunch with my friends. We had a great seat by the window and excellent service from our server, Page. I enjoyed a Bloody Mary, but they did have $2 Mimosas, so that was a great deal. We got all of the appetizers. Everything was delicious and came to the table quickly. I especially loved the sausage pancake "corn dogs". For my meal I got the breakfast tacos And a side of bacon. I was pretty full already but excited to see that the side of bacon came with five perfectly cooked slices.
