It's mid-May but the patio is open. I like to sit outside especially when dining solo. Yes, it's unfortunately a busy 96th Street view. Service with Kyle was awesome. He was very accommodating. Went to Cooper's for wine tasting and decided to have dinner while I was there! I had the special which included parm crusted medallions, tempura shrimp, broccolini and mashed potatoes. Any meal with the medallions are usually my favorite besides the short rib, but this combo was AMAZING! It had a level of spice to it too due to the sauce but I loved it! My waitress was also patient and kind as multiple glasses of wine were consumed haha. She was attentive and ensured that I had everything I needed. Ambiance - Cooper's is a more upscale casual environment to me. It's perfect for a solo date at the bar, a date night, a celebration, anniversary, etc. Great food and conversations will be had! I met a colleague for a late Friday lunch. I ordered the cilantro ranch chicken sandwich but with no bread and roasted veggies as the side. I was pleased by how they gave me two small grilled chicken breasts over tomatoes and lettuce. Even though I didn't order this way, I appreciated that they put the smashed avocado, ranch, and mayo on the side. The sauces were tasty and the cheese and bacon were very good as well. The roasted veggies were seasoned well with a balsamic sauce. I did not expect so much flavor from a simple side. It was a great low carb, high protein lunch. The waiter was great as well. Great experience here for a girls night! We made reservations a couple weeks in advance which was easy to do online. We arrived early as we planned to do the wine tasting prior to dinner. The wine tasting area was pretty crowded so we decided to eat first. We were very pleased with how quickly the hostess was able to get us seated since we were about 30 min early for our reserved time. Our server, Miles, was super attentive. During our weekend stay in Indy we reserved a Friday dinner date at Coopers Hawk. We were wine club members years ago while living in Columbus so it was nice to be back to a familiar restaurant. This visit to the Indianapolis location was a success for a variety of reasons: We were seated right away. Our server, Paris, provided excellent service. She was genuine, friendly and attentive. She handled the holiday rush like a pro. The seasonal Butternut Squash soup and Pumpkin Praline cheesecake were the standouts from the Thanksgiving menu. We had reservations for 6:30 on Friday night. When we got there at 6:20 we were told it would be 6:40 before we could be seated as they had to clear tables. The foyer area and the wine tasting area were noisy and jam packed. At 6:45 I was told the wait could be another 15 minutes or so but the hostess said that was a guess. We were finally seated at 7 which was annoying. Once seated service was excellent. I had the chicken Madeira. The Chicken was excellent. Mary's potatoes pretty much seemed to be just mashed potatoes. The side of asparagus was woefully undercooked and when I mentioned it the server immediately brought me a plate of asparagus that was cooked perfectly. After 6 years, I thought it would be good to update my review. This place still has a very nice aesthetic and is definitely a vibe for date night or for brunch on the weekend with friends and family. The seating is comfortable and the lighting very low and moody at times. I wanted to take my daughter for her first wine tasting but then opted to dine in and order a couple of flights instead. I made reservations and arrived behind one other family. We were asked to wait just a few minutes. Meanwhile, I witnessed the staff tasting some wine in the area behind the host station. Once they were done with their tasting (which I'm sure is part of their job), the hosts came out and immediately took us to our tables. I was disappointed that this was why we had to wait. Couldn't they have done this at some other time? Before the store opened, during their staff meeting or something? I don't think paying customers should be made to wait, if at all possible. The restaurant was fairly busy with the brunch crowd. I wasn't even aware that they had a brunch menu. We may come check it out in the future. Our server was nice, but service was rather slow. Everything except the water took a long time. The bread took forever...and immediately after receiving it, our food arrived. I stuck to my favorites: the meatballs and calamari. My daughter ordered the tomato bruschetta, and was annoyed when the server repeated it back, attempting to correct her pronunciation of the word. I looked it up, it's broo·skeh·tuh. She pronounced it correctly, he did not. I think it's rude when servers do that anyway. If the customer doesn't ask how to pronounce something, and you still understand what they mean, there is no reason to correct them. And, more importantly, be sure that you're correct before attempting to correct someone else! The bruschetta had halved grape tomatoes (I think) and they were unruly. They way they shaked, rattled and rolled all over the place was hilarious! We both agreed that if they weren't going to be diced or chopped, then they should have at least been quartered! We cannot have been the first guests to mention this. It was just hard to eat. My daughter meticulously laid each tomato flat in order to take a bite without tomatoes diving off of the toast. She was also left searching for the olive oil drizzle mentioned in the description and we eventually found it beneath the bed of greens that the toasts were served atop. I think they need to refocus on customer service. The food is good and they have a great atmosphere, but if the customer doesn't come first, they won't keep coming back! read more

It had been many years since our last visit here, and we were celebrating a minor victory on a long painful project, so we splurged for lunch. As we remembered, Cooper's Hawk is excellent. Our family had a wide variety of different foods and found everything we ate to be excellent. Among those were the crab, shrimp and lobster bisque; house made meatballs; barboca tacos, a classic cheeseburger and a grilled mahi sandwich. I would have to say that of those foods the overall highlights were the mahi and the bisque. I even tried a glass of the house red wine and it was surprisingly good for a house wine. Our service was excellent throughout our stay. When a restaurant is good at everything, the only thing left to look at is price. Cooper's Hawk is definitely in the upscale market, but not too high up and definitely worth it. read more

We were able to see everyone around the table, the service was good you were allowed to sample 2 wines but I wasn't able to get the actual drinks I wanted because I felt like I didn't have enough time to get the server's attention to order some, but I had the Blueberry wine and the Blueberry Açaí Bubbly Sangria, I liked the sangria more! Came to the location on 96th street to bring my sister out for her first wine tasting. Also had my little cousin along who had never done a wine tasting. I'm driving so was just having a full glass of wine. I was at the Avon location on Thursday for a tasting with a friend and ordered a glass of wine at the tasting station so assumed I would be able to here. She told me they don't allow that and I told her I just had one earlier at another location she said "that was there and I'm at an other location now and that's not allowed" I reposnded wow that was a little rude because not only was it what she said it was how she said it she proceeded to say "was it rude or you just didn't like that I said no" so I asked my sister and cousin if I was overreacting and they said no she said "so are you going to do the tasting or now" while picking up our napkins. Obviously I don't want her to serve me anymore because she was rude and dismissive to me. I said no it's okay we'll go on that side she said "good I was hoping you said that" like excuse me? I've been a wine member for years and I bartend on the side so I'm big on service. I was going to leave it at she's rude and having a bad day but when she said I was hoping you said that, that's when I had to alert the manager. He said he would take care of the tastings and my glass of wine but I'm already a member so those were free anyway. He was very nice but I needed to let one of my favorite restaurants know how unacceptable it was and not that it really matters but I am a woman of color and she too was a woman of color so I just couldn't believe she treated me like that. Not only that my account has been hacked twice in a state I don't even live at and I was charged $109.28 Friday for a grub hub order and hacked again and charged again for another order in Missouri! I called the restaurant and the manager was very nice and helped me and reversed the charges he said this is a known scam they've been seeing and mostly in Florida...excuse me? Great place to eat. Great place to come with your friends and maybe even make some new ones. Definitely, I'm infatuated with Cooper's Hawk. Everything on the menu is pretty good. My favorites include their lettuce wrap appetizer and their scallops. Honestly, everything I've tried has been good. As of late, we tried their steak medallions and I have to say they weren't great. Tasted like a lower grade of meat than what we're used to. So be mindful. Now to the important part. The wine. You have a couple options. Cooper's Hawk offer a tasting session in their designated bar. I say it that way because they have a classic bar behind the hosted station. That area has cocktail tables where you can enjoy the full menu in a more casual setting. There's an option of the outdoor patio as well for nicer weather. So enjoy it when you can. If you decide to sit in the dining area, you can enjoy two free samplings of anything on their wine menu. Choose wisely, it's a hard decision. And pay for a glass or a bottle of whichever one you liked the most. Did you like them all? Well sign up for their wine club and choose a plan for 1-bottle, 2-bottles or 4! Your bottles roll over month to month so in case you forget to pick them up, you can pick them up later. So don't rush. The wait staff are always so nice. Huge plus. One of my favorite restaurants in Indy. Service is always great, never had any issues, whether that's pickup, dine in, or wine tasting. The lobster bisque and chicken tortilla soup are always a great start to lunch or dinner. The house made meatballs and Thai lettuce wraps are great appetizers. Salmon could've been a little more seasoned, but it is on the "life balance" menu, which may be why. I've always enjoyed anything I've ordered on the menu. If you get a chance to wine taste, take it! A little over a year ago, I officiated a wedding for some friends. What can I say? I'm a man of many talents. A true Renaissance man. Even though I performed the wedding for no fee, they surprised me with a substantial gift card for Cooper's Hawk. Fast forward 14 months and it was time to finally cash in that gift car, baby! Showed up early to take advantage of the wine tasting room. But it was very busy (Saturday night... surprise!), so we moved to the bar. It was standing room only, but some kind ladies were leaving soon and gave up their table after paying their bill. I began the evening with some delicious pinot noir and a couple of appetizers. The pinot was gone before I knew it, and I moved to a lovely malbec. I stayed with dry reds all night, but I danced around the wine menu a bit. I was pleasantly surprised by the Cooper Hawk house red blend. It was a blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. This blend was surprisingly smooth and satisfying to my palate. Our server was helpful and kind, having a smile on his face every time he returned to the table. Actually, the entire staff was helpful, from checking in for my reservation (make a reservation!) to the bar staff to our server, they made the evening simple. And simplicity is something I greatly appreciate. My main entree was a surf and turf with parmesan-crusted filet medallions and the scallop gratin. The main course was satisfying and tasty. But I felt the true stars of the evening were the appetizers: Asian ahi tuna sashimi with avocado and ponzu ginger sauce, bacon-wrapped drunken shrimp in a tequila lime butter sauce over fresh dollops of guacamole, and classic tomato bruschetta. I would love to go back to Cooper's Hawk and spend it simply ordering appetizers and a couple bottles of malbec with a good friend who also endeavors to live life deliciously. read more

I'd love to tell you about one of my all-time favorite restaurants. My first experience at Cooper's Hawk was when I received a wine club membership for my 21st birthday -- thanks, Mom! Since then, it's become a go-to spot for my husband and I, especially for special occasions. We recently celebrated our anniversary there, and it never disappoints. When we arrived, it was pretty busy, and the noise made it hard to hear the hosts -- that's my only complaint. Honestly, they could expand to include a larger wine tasting and gift shop area, as I love browsing the items, though it can feel a bit cramped in busy nights. That said, we made quick purchases at the end of our visit, and someone went above and beyond to help us find the engraved CH wine glasses we were looking for. As for the food, the menu is fantastic, offering something for every diet. I'm a fan of the sweet Romance/Sweet Red wine, and the bruschetta is always fresh and tasty. The gnocchi is to die for -- I had the vegetarian version including squash, spinach, and mushrooms while my husband opted for the chicken carbonara. I'll always recommend Cooper's Hawk for a night out; it's definitely worth splurging on but they also have great options if you're looking for a burger or sandwhich, it's all fantastic. They offer wine tastings to help find the perfect wine pairing, and the servers are great at recommending menu options. I haven't been here that much but when I do I'm never disappointed. First off, the day we went was August 25th 2025 and we ordered from the Indy devour menu. It's also a lunch exclusive menu so I do wanna get that out of the way. OK, so Cooper's Hawk is always clean, elegant and inviting. It comes off as a really fancy place (which it is) but without all the pretentiousness. What I mean by that is the super friendly service you get here. It's fine dining but you're being served like you're family. On to our food, again ordered from the devour menu but the food was epic. For starters we got a house salad and a tortilla soup. The soup was nice and creamy. Then our entrees was spaghetti and meatballs and chicken gnocchi. Both so good, they added this really cream like cheese to the spaghetti and it was heavenly. The gnocchi never disappoints with it's creamy comfort food flavor. Lastly we took a white chocolate and a dark chocolate truffle to go as our dessert. I really love this place. We headed down to Cooper Hawk for Devour Indy and I'm so glad we did! It's always been one of our go-to favorites, but more of a special treat than an every-month kind of spot. I've been missing their chicken gnocchi and it was everything I remembered... soft, pillowy gnocchi in that creamy sauce that just hits all the comfort-food cravings. Big bonus! They've got a non-alcoholic menu! I went with the Passion & Spice (pineapple, passion fruit, jalapeño, lime, soda, Tajín rim) and it was perfect... sweet, spicy, tangy, and refreshing all at once.
