This place is a true hidden gem! I love the vibes, plants and that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Stopped in Saturday morning for our first time visit after completely another pick up close by and was surprised with the variety of coffee and breakfast items on the menu. While waiting to order, a regular customer in front of us described what we should try out along with adding his opinion that the coffee was the best in town. I received a gift card in a gift basket so I decided to take my boys here for a mid afternoon drink and snack. We absolutely loved the weird mural on the side of the building. That was our first clue that this place was a little different than your average coffee shop/café. My son got a Matcha drink with coconut milk and I got something with ginger and coconut syrup. It was heavenly I highly recommend it to eat. One of my sons got the pimento focaccia with ham and my other son got the breakfast sandwich. I enjoyed an everything cookie, which was the best cookie I've had in a long time. The lovely server helping us recommended my drink, and it did not disappoint. Such a cute place to stop and have a quick bite. The service was "walk-up" counters where you order your food and drinks. They call out your name once your food is ready. Definitely a foodie spot! Loved their variety of flavors on their menu that you don't typically see in other spots as well as their tea selection. I got the vanilla apricot and it was to die for. I also ordered the Italian focaccia bread sandwich which was a refreshing mix of deli meats, olive spread, a hint of rosemary, and olive oil. Inside there are paintings and prints from local artists, a vast variety of fun eclectic decor, and beautiful plants surrounding you. Despite the fact that I've lived just east of SoBro for around 15 years now, I'd never made my way into GoldLeaf Savory & Sweet, an establishment featuring Full Service Espresso, Small Plates, Wine & Beer. This section of SoBro, essentially the East 46th Street strip, has been growing up as of late with the birth of Refinery46 and a pretty cool array of businesses nearby including everything from Black Circle to Marcy Village Apartments to Patachou Foundation and more. I've always been a bit intimidated by the parking situation at Goldleaf. It's less than ideal for wheelchair users, though most of my anxieties were unfounded. There's a vacant parking lot directly across Goldleaf, though it's definitely pretty dusty and slightly gravelly. During rainy times, it also can flood a bit. There seems to be a little parking behind the building along with streetside parking. While East 46th can get a bit busy, the side street are lightly traveled. The interior is eclectic, artsy, and welcoming. Local work is carried here. This is not one of those places where they have everything on the menu. The menu is kind of simple, though what they do they do very well. Essentially, it comes down to a creative coffee bar, morning snacks, mid-day snacks, and a Sunday service. They also have seasonal and specialty options including a delightful "Just Give Me Lift" - double espresso on ice, tonic, and a dash or orange bitters. I'm a fan of the simple but tasty Croissant with Gruyere and Ham for a five spot. There's a bar-type area that isn't really wheelchair friendly, though they have multiple tables that work. There's an all-gender bathroom that is pretty wheelchair friendly. There's a great atmosphere here that I really enjoyed. The employees are friendly. The food is both tasty and affordable. Goldleaf tends to not be a fan of the delivery services. That for sure makes sense as it would be hard to preserve the quality of these items in a delivery situation. Sometimes, you just have to go out to have the real experience. This is one of those times. While I do wish the parking lot was a bit easier, it's worth the effort and there's no doubt that I'll return in the very near future. I love seeing this area come to life and Goldleaf is a great local business that deserves your support. read more

Cutest little spot! I was meeting a friend so we picked out this restaurant since it's right in the middle. Never been there, I walked in and was so happy with the decor, atmosphere and welcoming staff! Parking lot across the street and lots of comfy spots to sit in. Welcoming of the LGBTQIA community and your own individuality, it was such a great spot- could've skipped the death metal music, but I know I walked in, it was different, and a little more relaxing while people worked on their computers or had earbuds in. Adorable location right next to a giant dirt parking lot if you're concerned about the parking situation. Staff was friendly and there was an assortment of drinks although I wish there were more non coffee options. They do have a cooler with bottled/canned drinks that I could've taken a closer look at. The inside is full of plants and art with a very cozy nice vibe to meet friends, read a book or even to get some work done. The patio is very cute and mostly shaded. They also have some baked goods and other food options but this visit I just got a drink. Highly recommended checking this place out. read more

Met here for a work meeting, there were 6 of us and were able to push a couple tables together to make it work. You order at the counter, they have a small menu but some really healthy items on it. They will call your name for you to pick it up. They also have lots of coffee, latte, tea options which is what it seemed most people there had. Many people were working, and sitting solo. They had music playing but it wasn't overly loud which was nice since we were there for a meeting. The place feels very warm with all the natural light and plants around. The pricing seems reasonable for what you get and in line with other coffee shops. There is free parking all around the building so no worries there. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my rosemary latte and noticed several other options on the menu that I can't wait to revisit and try. I also ordered the vegan breakfast burrito with added tofu. It was filled with sweet potatoes, black beans, and accompanied by a green tomatillo salsa. Would highly recommend. I appreciated how many vegan options they naturally had available on the menu. I got the breakfast burrito which has potatoes, onions, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese, egg, flour tortilla, and tomatillo salsa. You can also add sausage or cream if you'd like. I opted for it with sausage and sans cheese. It was incredibly, y'all! They make it from scratch (and allow for modifications since it's made fresh) and the tortilla is grilled to perfection. They have the kindest welcoming staff, great vibes inside with so many plants, and delicious snacks/sandwiches. My go to is a lav oat latte and for food get the Pesto Focaccia during the summer. This is a hip and trendy coffee shop. I felt cooler just walking in, and full disclosure, I am not a coffee drinker. There is limited parking behind the shop and some street parking is available as well. They have an outdoor patio area out front and a decent sized dining area. Thee is also a bar in there, with over 21 seating, that serves beer and other adult beverages. If you look around the walls of the place, you will see art that you can actually purchase right there on the spot. The dining area has tables with chairs and a few lounge chairs to sit. In addition to their delectable coffee and teas, they serve a light breakfast and lunch menu with breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, wraps, sandwiches, grilles cheeses and rotational sweets. I got a Banh Mi Style Wrap with one of their iced raspberry teas that they suggested. It took about 7 minutes for me to get my food, I got my drink right away. I will admit that the wrap was find of small at first sight. But, it was surprisingly filling. It tasted amazing. It was so delicious. I slowed down while I was eating to make it last longer. It had a little kick to it like I like it and a lot of flavor to go with it. My drink did not disappoint either. It was a great choice and was very smooth and thirst quenching. The roads in this area are a bit sketch, but sometimes you have to brave a few potholes for quality food. This eclectic cafe offers a wide range of beverages, caffeinated and otherwise, as well as an interesting menu. I was not thrilled that everything was packaged to-go despite the fact that the average person was eating there. It also wasn't the cleanest cafe space, and I felt I could expect more having been asked for a robust tip at the counter. My apricot-flavored tea came quite hot (which would have been easier to manage in a china teacup with a saucer rather than a to-go cup), but delivered an interesting flavor. The masala foccacia was a strange combination of words, and an equally odd recipe putting together tofu and sweet potato with an Italian style of bread, but it delivered an awe-inspiring savory mix of flavors. Not your traditional sit down restaurant. You order at the register and wait for your order to pick up to the right of the register for food, drinks on the left. I thought the burrito would be more or bigger. It wasn't filling for brunch, you'd have to order a few things. It was good, but not enough for me. My rosemary coffee was different, haven't had one like it before and probably won't get it again. Not my kind of flavor but it was interesting. I had seen GoldLeaf on Instagram many times and knew it was finally time to head their way after seeing that lemon cheesecake was the pasty of the week. My only issue when order was that between masks and the loud music, he was very, very hard to heard. I was surprised when my total came to slightly under $12. A bit higher than I expected for a medium coffee and dessert but hey, support local. I also tipped because times are tough and if you can afford a fancy drink, throw a tip their way. The drink was made quickly and I took my items to-go. Upon first sip, my drink was SPICY. It took me a second to wrap my brain around the flavor profile before realizing it was spicy like a strong chai. It was different and enjoyable, not something I would have ordered but happy to have tried. My dessert was good but messy, as a flaky puff pastry with powdered sugar tends to be (not one for snacking on in the car). I finished it hours later and it was just as good.
