    Lobster bisque
    Iva H.

We wanted to try some place new and take advantage of the DevourIndy menu so we decided on McCormick and Schmicks. The restaurant is right downtown Indy and has valet parking from the attached hotel and also a parking garage right across the street. If that garage is full there is another one just a block away. The restaurant is beautiful and fairly large. We noticed they have cozy enclosed booths around the one side of the restaurant and also it looked like they had private dining rooms for special occasions like a wedding rehearsal or something really special. The devour menu had a variety of choices and I decided on the lobster bisque ( creamy and delicious), the steak and shrimp which was cooked perfectly and plentiful and included mashed potatoes and broccolini. I had plenty for leftovers at lunch the next day. My dessert was the flourless truffle cake. It was amazing and so rich you had to save some for later with a cup of coffee. My cocktail was a lavender haze which I expected would be a shade of lavender but it wasn't. Still it was a tasty supper. Our service was friendly and efficient with attention to details. Great place to visit for a special occasion.

Incredibly dry Seafood Alfredo and NO bread or sauce!!

Wait time at the hostess station was so long that I went to the bathroom and came back and still waited to be seated so I sat myself and the lady who was bussing a table told me to wait. Mind you there was only one other table with 3 ladies in the entire restaurant at lunchtime. Once seated the waitress did come over and I had to ask her for a menu please. I then ordered the seafood Alfredo and a margarita. I asked could I have bread with it. She said yes but then returned but said that they didn't have any bread because she was going to make some fresh bread but they didn't have the resources to even MAKE/.SERVE any bread with meals. Once I received my order it was so bland that I had to ask to pepper which took awhile to receive and then I had to walk to the kitchen and yell back "hello" because I couldn't find any staff available to ask for some salt. A "Mgr" was sitting in a corner booth and said that she would bring me some. The dish was bland and very dry Alfredo sauce was minimal to NONE!!! Worst Alfredo facsimiiie that I have ever had! Truly disappoint because I still tipped the waitress because I know it wasn't the wait staff's fault for this dish or for bread ingredients not being available to make bread to serve for meals!! This experience was truly unacceptable and no apologies or attempts to make me whole. I paid asked for a to go to feed my dogs at home ....but McCormick and Schmicks restaurant needs a competent Manager because supposedly a "nice" restaurant this experience was trash and disappointing. I eat out a lot at nice places in fact I had brunch Yesterday at Commission Row. I don't leave reviews and and I always tip well but not once was I asked how everything was so I feel that this review was necessary!! Maybe that's why it was empty.....Food/Service was TRASH!!!

Let's start with service. Chase, our server, was amazing! He had great suggestions and ensured my Landrey's rewards were accounted for on the bill. The ambiance is fantastic for a downtown hotel restaurant. It is connected to the Hilton on Illinois near iconic Monument Circle. Our dinners were delicious. Independent of each other, we chose The Voyage-a mix & match special. The seasonal mixed greens had lots of tasty candied walnuts. We both chose the Bourbon Glazed Salmon that cameeith potatoes & spinach.

Great happy hour food and drinks selection between 330-630pm. Food served freshly and quickly, good size too.

Arrived downtown early before my event and popped in for Happy Hour. I immediately noticed that it was quite stuffy inside. Not sure if they were having issues with the A/C, but it was cooler outside than it was in. I decided to stay after a conversation sparked between a few of us. The bar was pretty full but I managed to squeeze in as a gentleman was leaving. I ordered the Berry Berry Mojito. My cocktail was like summer in a glass. It was the perfect mix of sweet and cool, oOoh so refreshing! I wasn't incredibly impressed by the service. Unfortunately, the initial welcome was lacking from this experience. Water wasn't offered to start and there was a delay from placing my order to having to request for my check, despite being done with my drink. The big question after this experience.. Would I return? Yes. As I wish I had more time to enjoy Happy Hour and everyone has their one off days. The Happy Hour menu did seem pretty good from the quick glance I took. Happy Hour runs M-F, 3:30-6:30pm, which is a great time frame to get downtown after work.

Stopped in to try this place since it was close to my hotel. Pretty chill spot with a great bar and seating area. The service was great, as well as the food. Their happy hour is one of the best I've come across.

Happy Hour. Truffle Fries, Hummus & Chips, Best Calamari Ever!

First of all, Luke was the most amazing serving/bartender ever. Second, the food was literally exceeding my expectations. We ordered the truffle fries, hummus & chips, and the best calamari that I've ever had in my LIFE. We are coming back for sure! Thanks for the food!

Great place for a happy hour. The bar has a high energy feel and budget friendly prices on food and drinks. I had the burger cooked medium. It was topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and was loaded with flavor. The burger was served with a side of fries. To wash it all down i had a lemon drop martini which was delicious .

Started off at the bar. I was there in time to enjoy their Happy Hour. They have a really great Happy Hour menu. The waitress I had in the bar was very sweet . I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini and because it was such a good deal on drinks, I got a Prosecco Sangria to take into the dining room. The ambiance gave very classic steakhouse. It was nice but not overly pretentious. I ordered the Sugar and Spiced Roasted Salmon. It was cooked perfectly. Seriously one of the best meals I have had in a while. I know there are a lot of newer, more sophisticated steakhouses in town but don't sleep on McCormick and Schmick's. Its a solid choice.

This restaurant was attached to my hotel so I decided to have dinner one night. M&S is a chain, albeit a nicer one. I had a shrimp cocktail ($22) which netted me 5 giant shrimp. I appreciated that they gave me extra horseradish cause ya girl likes her sauce spicy! They have a great wine list and friendly staff. Thumbs up.

The woman at the bar who helped us had amazing energy and was extremely friendly and helpful. She recommended two NA wines I could try and described them both in detail. They also had an Athletic Beer available. The space is super clean and chill. There's lots of space inside to hang out and play games. They also have a cute little patio where you can sit and watch the Monon. I really enjoyed my first visit and will definitely be back!

When I had first visited and found out that they do wine bingo, I knew I had to come back. My bestie and I used to love going to Wine Market & Table for wine bingo, but after they closed a few years ago we never found anyone else who did it. Solely Wine has solved that! They have a nice selection of wines available by the glass, but they also have a much larger selection of wines, separated by type, that you can buy by the bottle (you can't grab them yourself off the shelf, a staff member has to do that) to open and drink there or take home. My friends and I each started out with just a glass of wine and then ended up buying some bottles to share while playing bingo since we were staying for a few hours and it was a better price point to share bottles. It can get expensive buying by the glass. They also have some snacks/appetizers available for purchase if you get hungry. The inside has lots of different seating options: cozy arm chairs and couches, large family-dinner-style tables, and smaller tables along the windows. They also have a beautiful patio! Towards the back they also have an art gallery and additional seating, although I don't think that space is always open. The bathroom is kept very clean and the staff are helpful and attentive. Can't wait to come back for another girls night.

It's not much to look at from the outside - in small strip mall off Fall Creek about 2 miles north of 96th, but the inside is both luxe and comfortably cozy. At just 12 tables, you get your table for the night, so there is no rush and your evening can be as long as you want to make it. They also have a gorgeous little side wine room that you can rent for parties of 6-8 for dinner. And there's a little bar area that seats maybe 4-6. We had reservations for 6pm, so there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we got there, but they filled throughout the night (& we left close to 8pm). Our server Shaunda was delightful, and the owner Dan came around and checked on all the tables a few times as well. We were presented with a cous cous amuse bouche, a nice refreshing bite to start the evening. Hubs had an Italian Old Fashioned and I asked our server to pair wine for me, so it was a Decoy Sauv Blanc with our first course - the mussels. We asked for extra crostinis in order to soak up more of the delicious sauce they came in. Next was the beet arugula salad, so good! For entrees, hubs had the pappardelle bolognaise and got an iced T, and I had the short ribs with risotto, paired with a glass of cab franc. Dessert was coffee (americano) for each of us, and we split the tiramisu (see all my pics). We ate and enjoyed everything! Total with tax was right at 200 before gratuity. So this is more of a splurge place for us, (of course would be less without the beverages we did) but we will be back. It was a really pleasant evening and another big win for me picking birthday places! #yum #ReviewsByRL

The hospitality was great, and their drink and food recommendations were equally wonderful. One thing to note is the portions on the appetizers are fairly large, so keep that in mind when ordering. To start, we ordered the Korean Fried Mushrooms with baechu kimchi, gochujang honey, daikon radish, furikake, and scallions. These were great but unfortunately had to save room for the other items and could not finish. Then got the Center Cut Ribeye which came with cajun spiced spaetzle, summer squash, remoulade sauce, pink peppercorn ricotta, scallions, sweetie drops, and chimichurri. The steak was cooked to a rare/medium rare consistency that was delicious and we loved the tiny peppers. We paired it with a nice red wine the bartender recommended and it was a lovely experience. Lastly we ended the night with the strawberry dacquoise and espresso. The dessert came with strawberry mousse, pistachio cake, strawberry glaze, white chocolate bark with pistachio & pink peppercorn, and frosted mint. It was a refreshing summertime dessert perfect to end the day. I definitely recommend the steak dish and heard the airline chicken and Chilean sea bass were good too. Would love to come back and try a cocktail and a different dish while sitting on the patio! Second Time: Got the tamarind disco cocktail that comes with a lollipop - amazing, would order again! We tried the fried chicken and caviar, pork chop, and honey cake! All three were delicious - the fried chicken and mushrooms are tied for appetizers, bowers we still think the steak is better than the pork chop. The honey cake was amazing and it paired perfectly with the decalf espresso martini (or a black coffee perhaps). Looking forward to round 3 during my next work trip!

It's a very small kitchen where all the action happens, which is very impressive for a restaurant their size. Very knowledgeable staff and servers described all the ingredients and notes of flavor to look for in the dishes very well. Most ingredients were locally sourced and staff highlighted the importance of souring fresh local ingredients with every dish. Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal.
