I gave it another chance. My 1st experience was great but the last 3 somethings changed. Not sure if its a management shift but its not the same. First - they will offer to put your carefully selected items into a room. DONT DO IT. Someone else will put it all back and you'll have to start over. Last time i was there it gappened to me this time it happened to another customer. Second- Be prepared to be ignored. You will stand at the register while tbe owner is trying to leave but just keeps talking, tbe other employee is texting, and the 3rd is staring at you but engaged in a conversation with the other 2. You will actually need to say, I am ready like twice. 2-3 years ago the vibe was different so I didnt mind the drive and i wouldve said youre missing out but now but its not the same, you can probably find better.. read more

I've been trying to sell items with this secondhand store for two years. I went two days ago and asked if I could bring in items since they weren't taking new items on a Monday. They initially gave the impression they would be interested in seeing some cowboy boots and other items from their wish list (like mom/straight jeans, designer sweaters), so I brought them the next day. Despite matching their online wish list, they didn't accept anything. The response was dismissive and inconsistent. I asked what I should follow, since the website didn't match their actions. I was told it "depends on the season," but it didn't feel professional. On top of that, they sell cheap-quality items like Victoria's Secret or PINK sleeping shorts, but somehow won't take my quality pieces. Disappointed with the lack of clarity and courtesy! Not returning again. Went to another second hand company and sold my items there instead. read more

The clothes in the store are so strange. Should I say eclectic? Lots of cheap flimsy fabrics and unattractive prints. They buy very little - it wasn't just my experience. On a busy Saturday, no one was getting any interest. Hard to tell what they're looking for. Like all buy, sell, trade and consignment shops this is a hit or miss. The prices are a bit higher though as the inventory is more on the higher end of designers in this shop. They buy what's in style, as well as active wear and some accessories. It is a smaller shop, so it doesn't take long to go through the racks and see if anything may catch your eye. They also have a designer rack off to the side with shoes and accessories in the display cases next to them. The owner is usually there when I come in and is friendly and helpful. I have found a few gems at this location that I have bought since I've been coming here. I have also sold at this location as well, though I don't live near by so I don't sell here as often as I'd like and it's honestly not worth me driving all the way out here for the little amount I make, unless I decided to take the trade value which I have in the past. Lively personalities, family oriented business with a touch of flair: you can sell if your items meet their criteria as well as shop for luxury items i.e., shoes (Fendi,Chanel, etc.) clothes (Isabel Marant, DVF, Alice and Olivia, Saks, etc) comfort wear (Sundry, Noli, Lululemon) and a lot more. Small store, nicely furnished in a great shopping center in town, near the Auto Mall) with fun selections to pick from. Hrs. are reasonable and there are plentiful options for lunch nearby, steps away from store. Today I spent $150 on several pairs of shoes, a dress and a gorgeous corset top by STAUD. BUYING from store- It's hit or miss finding something. Prices are fair. Their clearance bins are a great buy but be prepare to dig! I have found a lot of good stuff. SELLING to store- They are very picky. I've given up! Unless you have name brand articles or know what they are looking for save yourself the trouble. CUSTOMER SERVICE- The ladies will greet and welcome you when you walk through the door while they whisper and judge you behind your back. I have seen this too often. I had the same feeling about this place that some of the other reviewers had. The owner is off putting and a bit snobby. As if she was doing me a favor by going through the pile of clothes I brought in to sell. All in great condition if not new, all pricey brands and I thought based on some of the "goodwill" type stuff (junk) they have for sale I thought my pile would be a jackpot for them. She chose a couple things then asked me to bring back the sweaters and designer heels (brand new). Ummm, you didn't want them now why would I waste my time bringing them back? I don't mind that they didn't want much of what I had, it was definitely more about the attitude and condescending nature of the owner. Overall, just not a great experience. Horrible customer service....actually better to say there is no customer service. They've never acknowledge me or anyone I've been with when we've come in, never asked if we needed help, didn't care whether we were there or not. It's a small shop so at times when there's only one person working and they ignore you, it feels like you're intruding on their space. I've purchased high-end footwear and purses from them so I don't just look and never buy. The last few times my daughter and I went in their inventory was pretty sparse. I thought it was crazy, but she was super anxious. I suggested to her that I'd seen Love At Second Sight so many times in the shopping center, and literally, on the way to the party, she did a mad dash in there while I waited in the car. Very unimpressed with service, selection, and prices. Today I went in with every intention of buying a pre-loved designer bag at a reasonable price (they're used!). Upon entering, each bag that I took a look at was well over what any other consignment website or shop was selling these bags for. I have been looking for a black designer bag on a daily basis for the last month, so I would know what I should be paying at this point. In an effort to obtain anywhere close to a reasonable price, I had brought in a pair of Louboutins for trade, a classic black leather pump in the "So Kate" style. These had been worn one singular time, and had since been cleaned, the bottoms protected with a scuff protector in the signature red. Without setting a single finger on my shoes, I was turned away with a simple "mmmm they're not in season so I can't buy these. Come back in November." I'm not sure I've ever heard of simple black pumps being "out of season." Not wanting to buy my item was one thing, but the professionalism and kindness was truly lacking. A little nicer of a tone sure goes a long way, and I'll be sure to take my business and my money to a shop that will be more kind, attentive, and reasonable with their buying and selling. Following this interaction I went to Neiman Marcus, and walked out with a brand new YSL bag for $1000 less than the used bags they were selling. Would also like to say the employees don't tend to acknowledge you unless you approach them directly, and even then I was standing at the front counter for a good minute before the employee on the ipad even glanced up at me. read more

In Santa Monica we have Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange, Wasteland... in Westlake, there's Love at Second Sight! With racks and racks of wonderfully priced, high-end designer clothes, you can happily score a pair of gently used Mother jeans for $50 (these retail for $250!), or Lululemon's for $20. Don't forget to check in for discount! Love this store! I was torn between a 4 and 5 review because some of the clothes are F21 quality and priced way too high. However, I scored on a designer fringed blouse, a New York designer jacket, two designer leather belts and beautiful designer earrings for just over $100. I was curious about the earrings and a saleslady immediately looked it up for me. I don't remember the designer but they were originally $100 and I paid less that $20. I'm pretty sure the $12 belts were at least $100 each new. I love good consignment stores and this rates way up there. I hit this place up last weekend after dragging a couple bags of clothes & shoes I no longer need or wear around for months, looking for a second hand shop with a decent aesthetic. Love at Second Sight fit the bill in the "decent aesthetic" department to such an extent that when they only bought two things from me, I totally understood. Their buyers only buy things I would actually want to wear, so only the best of my old cast-offs will make the cut! I needed to find a dress to wear to a wedding, and they had a pretty good selection. Finding something that fits properly in a store like this can be more difficult than finding something you like, as they have just one of each item, but everything has been carefully selected, is on trend, and in perfect condition. When you find something here that fits, it feels like destiny... just think, what if it's previous owner had let it languish for a few more days in her closet?? Would you have crossed paths then??? I like this store. Not because of the items they sell, but because of the friendly and kind buyers. As a new seller, I didn't know what to expect. They took about 1/3 rd of the items I brought in, and they sold some pieces within days or a week!! I got an email that I could pick up my check. They also explained why they didn't take the rest. The friendly buyer said some dresses were too formal, so they wrote down the name and address of other similar more formal businesses. I rushed over there and they took another half of the items. I'm sitting out front 10:25 on a Wednesday wondering when someone will show up to open the store. I had many thrift stores on my list and I came to this one because it was open at 10am. This is my first visit to this place and it's a bummer I have to sit out front and wait for them to open when they advertise online and on the store front they open at 10am.
