I love, love, love this store! I am a bargain shopper and hate paying retail or full price for anything. I have kids and they grow like weeds! Things fit for a few months and then it's time to buy the little buggers more crap. Seems like such a waste to spend $20 or $30 on a child size pair of jeans when I can get them for less then $10 here. They carry good brands. Gap, old navy, gymbo, justice. You get the idea. Unlike other used clothing stores which are always hit or miss, I never leave this place empty handed. Their prices are VERY reasonable. I wish the store was a little bigger. The racks get really full which makes it hard to look through them at times. I like how organized and east to find things are. Staff is always friendly. Love this place! read more

This place is well taken care of and the staff are friendly. I have both bought and sold here a few times. There are some awesome hair bows you can buy at the front. The kids selection, as always with 2nd hand stores, is better for the younger crowd and gets a bit patchy with the older kids. read more

I absolutely adore this little gem of a shop. We have found most of our favorite things here! Everyone that works there has been beyond kind. I am thankful for the local/family business feel. As far as the comments from others complaining about the few things they'll purchase- I'm thankful they're selective. Only the staff understand their inventory needs on the day you happen to go in- it really shouldn't be taken personally! I have gone in on days where they'll take nearly everything I brought in and other times they don't need much. The owner has a good eye for want she wants in her shop at that time- it's not her duty to take my stuff just because I happen to think it's nice. I've frequented most of the kid's consignment stores in the East Valley over the last few years and Love Child is one of my two favorites. Their sale prices are reasonable, but they also are fair in what they pay the traders. I find that Love Child blows the competition out of the water in striking this balance. They don't tend to get a lot of little boy clothes, which is the only reason I have two favorites, but if I could meet all my needs exclusively through Love Child, I would. This place is full of it they lie and say they full on clothes when they barely have toddler clothes, just cause they dont have money to buy your items. their clothes and shoes are not all that, most of them look old fashion and not in style, i brought my daughter clothes that i know wouldve sold and she bought a outfit and bottoms from me and offer $3 in cash or $6 to trade for some in the store. Only thing cute in their store are the hair bows and teddy bears. Will not go there ever again shoes even look like its been worn too much not even wearable. read more

The Love Child is my favorite place to frequent. The atmosphere is so friendly and similar to a boutique, unlike other children's resale stores. The store is kept superbly fresh and smells delightfully clean upon entrance. The bathrooms are well kept and are sparkling clean. The racks are organized and neat and offer a wonderful selection for children of all ages. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. They treat customers like family. Pros: Very clean, well organized, fair trade value, friendly Cons: Although clothing items are clean and in good condition, I was not overly impressed with the selection of clothing after several visits- maybe I've just been unlucky? It's nice to walk into a place and know you don't have to sift through torn or stained items, but what they pass up is really surprising. I've brought in name brand, no more than a season old, perfect condition items that they pass on. Makes it somewhat disheartening to even bother bringing things in. I wasn't super impressed with the store during my first visit. The selection was very slim. I was looking for 3T clothing and they only had one circular rack that had both 3T AND 4T. The employees weren't very friendly, not that they were rude, they just didn't really acknowledge that I was there and I was the only one in the store. The good thing about the store was that the items really were reasonably priced. I didn't find anything during my first trip but I might consider giving it another try, I mean you can't expect to find something if people are not donating. Maybe next time they will have what I am looking for. read more

I've been coming by this place for years. The owner and/or staff are nice and friendly but it's reeeeely not a very good resale place. I buy expensive, never from an outlet, name brand kids clothes and I bring them in in great condition. I never leave feeling satisfied with my exchange. Like not one time. I continue to find low budget cheap brands like Mossimo, Old Navy and some brand from Wal-Mart (I don't shop for clothes at Wal-Mart, I had to ask!) I bring in Quicksilver, Under Armour and Abercrombie, barely worn and they pass them up. Every time. I will come out with less than $10-$20 which is not even worth the trip. I don't know the last time I bought something from them, it's been a while. Their selection is usually worn, dated and brands I would never dress my kid in. But they do have a nice shop. I like that they have dressing rooms and sizes even up to 0 and 2 so I can shop for myself from time to time. The prices don't really reflect the brands. For the money and the experience, I think I'd rather go to Nordstrom Rack. read more

Love this super cute resale shop! I had to leave a review because I believe it's way better than Kid to Kid, hands down. Once I took new outfits and good toys to Kid to Kid and they offered me 0.50 to $1 per a 2 piece outfit (with tags) or toy - seriously! I see the prices in the Kid to Kid store and see how much they will make off that! Love Child, Once Upon a Child and little boutique resale shops in Phoenix have offered me WAY more reasonable prices - whether cash or trade. I believe this shop has to be a little more selective (which means more quality selection to choose from) - either because they are a small store or they chose to be that way as their niche (it is compareable to selling at a Buffalo Exchange for kids VS a Namebrand Exchange). The clothes are WAY better here than Kid to Kid - I've seen namebrand clothes here vs lots of Walmart (no offense) onesies at Kid to Kid. Also, really great selection of books and great toys are here for very good prices. Once upon a child also has great toys (again, way better than Kid to Kid). Other namebrand clothes are at baby resale boutiques in central Phoenix as well. Overall, excellent place to sell, even better trade, and buy. :) read more

I recently was visiting family in the area and stopped by this Saturday as I can't help a good deal on kid's clothing. I was very impressed by how organized the store was- all sizes were easily labeled and sorted by type (pjs, bottoms, tops/ dresses). I can't tell you how many resale shops I have gone to that were cluttered, unorganized messes. I am also happy with the pricing as well. Gone are the upscale resale shops at $10 an outfit, Love Child has great prices on quality brand name items (majority under $5 a piece). I can't wait to return! I signed up for the mailing list and they gave me the first gift with purchase right then. The staff were great, holding my items and patient with my kids while they shopped around. Cute little boutique! The ladies working there were super friendly and gave me a great deal when i traded my item. I found the CUTEST ASU shirt for my son that was totally unique. Only downside is that there is not a huge selection for boys. My son is wearing 12m so it was difficult to find something his size between the two racks labeled 0-12 and 12m-2t. Firstly I want to mention that we 2 daughters and we've frequented this store a lot over the past few years because we like to stop in when we go to Trader Joe's. The staff there is friendly except for "grandma" who works there-- she has an attitude and has been curt to both my wife and daughter (maybe she just doesn't want to be there?). Regardless, the prices are reasonable, and the selection is good, and that is why we return. However, several times we taken in items for trade they have give us very little in trade amount, even though they claim to give 1/2 of the resales price. This is not true, a LIE. Recently I brought in 9 items (in which they took all): 3 pairs of shoes (that were like new), and a NWT Gymboree skirt, a toddler dress with matching cape, 2 T-shirts, a new swimsuit, and a baby sling. They gave me $12 in trade for everything (which is $24.00 selling price). Ok fine, I took it... in retrospect I wish I hadn't. I returned a few weeks later and saw the skirt on the sales floor priced at $8.00, and one pair of shoes priced at $12. I did not see any of the other items, but don't tell me they priced the 7 other items for a combined total of $4. I was (and am) absolutely furious. I always take in beautiful, practically unworn items to this store and this was not the first time I felt they had gypped me on the trade (I am doing the math here). I will not be bring my items for trade here anymore, instead I will take them to Once Upon a Child or Kid to Kid instead. I don't even know if I will even do much shopping here anymore. I will use my $12 store credit but them I don't think I'll be patronizing this business any longer. Too bad for you Love Child, we have been faithful and loyal customers but you should be honest to your customers because we keep you in business and believe me people are not stupid, no one likes to be swindled. read more
