I desperately wanted to get 3 cakes made for a birthday party in August since I had heard such great things, however the bakery was completely unresponsive. I filled out the request form twice, called and was directed to re-fill out the form, which i did and STILL didn't hear back. I also sent a facebook message, instagram message, and email to the owner and NEVER heard back. It has now been 2 weeks. I am extremely disappointed since this is where my mother in law had wanted the cake from. I don't plan on trying again, as the lack of response is absurd. read more

When my daughters birthday party moved up a week I was worried I would not be able to get the right cake for her. I figured that I would have to settle for one of those Market Basket cakes that turn your mouth blue and taste so sickeningly sweet you end up throwing it all out. So I called Love + Flour to see if there was a chance a cake could be made in a few days. I spoke with the proprietor and she informed me it would be no problem. We texted back and forth a bit and I learned she was just arriving in town from a vacation. Her bakery was closed for the week but she took he order anyway. My daughter is really into Big Bird right now so I figured that would be the right cake. She said no problem and said I could pick it up whenever I wanted on that Saturday. It snowed heavily that day and I asked to pick it up earlier due to he weather. No problem she said. I arrive sand saw the cake and my expectations were blown away. What a perfect Big Bird cake for my daughter. My daughter lived the cake and everyone at the party was commenting about how delicious the cake was. It was real buttercream frosting with a perfectly moist marble cake center. And our mouths stayed their normal color. I'm happy to offer my daughter real food that I know where it's from. After searching for gluten-free bakeries, I went to Love + Flour Bakery because they use only gluten-free flour in all of their recipes and I did not know the extent of gluten allergy of one of our guests. The gal who has been working there for around a year kindly remained open though I was arriving nearly right at 6:00 p.m. closing. I chose cookies, moon pies and a lemon bar which she arranged beautifully in a box. Everyone raved about the treats, including our guests who ate the absolutely delicious cake from another bakery made with regular flour. Recently, ordered a birthday cake from love and flour for the first time and i could not have been happier! The cake was absolutely delicious. I chose the cannoli flavor and it was decorated perfectly and tasted even better! Frosting was light and savory while cake was fluffy and full of flavor! We had the absolute best time! We visited recently for the Harry Potter event!. What a gorgeous turnout and the majority of the people in line with us were happy and so excited to get to the front. I cannot say enough good things about it- and all the staff we ran into. I particularly loved that we were given updates in line. It was helpful and super appreciated and certainly not every business checks in with customers while they are in line. I went there in February to order a cake, macarons and cake pops for my sons communion. She took my order, a picture of the cake and told me she will get back to me with a quote. 2 months go by nothing. I was running out of time, I emailed her she said she can't find the picture or the order. I ended up ordering 3 cakes from them and macarons. 2 of the cakes were supposed to be made with fresh strawberries. We cut them nothing not even a bit of strawberries. We cut the other cake a long piece of hair was baked with it. The cakes had absolutely no flavor and got thrown away. None of our guests were able to eat it. That's how gross they were. And the macarons were as hard as a rock. Called no answer, emailed no reply. They're quick replying when they want your money but they don't want to hear it when they failed. I saw a post in Instagram for a wedding cake tasting and was super excited. We had to pay $30 and were told we would get a cake tasting, 45 minutes design session and a mockup of the cake. We went in for the tasting on Saturday, January 26, talked to someone for about 15 minutes and were served 4 small slices of cake options. When we left, we were told they were going to sit down on Monday to come up with a quote and would get back to us that week. It has been a month, I have emailed them twice and heard absolutely nothing. At this point, I spent $30 on a few bites of cake. I am super disappointed in their service. I hope I am the only one who hasn't received a quote but I sincerely doubt it. read more

We dropped in to get some last minute cupcakes for my sons first birthday. We got pistachio and they were delicious everyone loved. I will say if you are looking for something specific don't wait until the last minute. This is definitely the place to go if you want cake or cupcakes that taste homemade but look fancy. Don't eat them right out of the fridge you need to let them warm up a bit. I actually like them cold and room temp but I saw another review about hard frosting and if you are eating them in your car on your way home;) that's what you will get because real frosting should be served at room temp:) read more

I've never used them for a custom cake situation, but if I ever needed too, I would go here in a heartbeat! The girls are so nice, and the desserts are even sweeter! My favorite are the macaroons so I HIGHLY suggest them! I can't go in there without drooling and getting excited! I grabbed some macaroons from the shelf for a work occasion, and I'll proudly say that I binge ate 4/5 of them before I had to calm down. Love + Flour is the absolute best place. We have been stopping in weekly for about a year now and have never ever been disappointed. We often get macaroons, cupcakes, bars, etc. My husband has also picked up a couple grab and go cakes, for no reason other than we were craving cake. Everything Love + Flour does is absolute perfection. The shop is adorable and clean. The staff are helpful and courteous. And, most importantly, everything is DELICIOUS. You can tell everything is fresh and made with so much love and talent. The prices are exactly what you would expect for a custom shop. If anything, they could be more expensive. I definitely feel I get and enjoy my money's worth every time I go. After all, I am choosing to get my desserts here and not a grocery store for a reason. I went to this bakery a couple months back. I wanted to go back but I really didn't feel welcomed there. I purchased over $100 worth of macrons. Asking for them In dozens. Both girls that were out front went to the back to get all the Macrons. When one returned carrying the Macrons I ask for some boxed because each dozen was for someone else not me. She told me to ask the other girl who was out back still and that I needed to pay for each box. I just feel that if I would of gone 5 times and ask for each dozen individually would I have paid for the boxes. I spent over 100 dollars there and was somewhat upset how I was treated. I then sat in my car to divide to macron in all the boxes. For what I spent they should of been handed to me individually boxes in dozens. I wasn't even asked if I wanted them together. And I didn't asked cause the girls seemed to be bothered as soon as I walked it. Oh and I drove in the rain about 45 minutes to get there. But I will say their macrons are delicious. read more
