Immmm baaaaack! This time I tried the BEC on a bagel and I think that will forever be my order! The bagel has a perfect crunch while also being soft on the inside. We tried the berry smoothie and this time I got an iced caramel with oat milk and we really enjoyed both. Again I'll add that I hope they come up with a rewards system as I am a frequent costumer!

Once I started to eat this avocado toast, I decided to take a picture! Delicious, different combination of flavors that worked well. Extremely fresh and flavorful. Will order again sometime soon.

Just what the town needed. Completely on point with how people want to eat these days in the type of ambience people appreciate these days. A popular school lunch spot as shown in the photos. Know that lunch options are offered with sides. On your first visit you may not know you will be charged extra for the sides. Even so, the additional $2 for the Brussels sprouts was definitely worth it. Weekend brunch crowd is more families, albeit chic weekender families. Baked goods made in house. A great spot.

Good coffee. Delicious bread. Outdoor tables. Charming town. Clean public bathrooms.

Wilson's is on the other side of House of Books (opposite JP Gifford), where an antique shop used to be. It is unrecognizable, the ceilings are very high and the ambiance is very woodsy. There's a large fireplace, and seating inside and outside. There are baked goods from macarons to savory scones available in the two cases by the register, but they have a kitchen as well. You do order at the register. My savory scone was delicious - great flavor, and not too crazy crumbly to cause a mess. I look forward to going back to try their breakfast all day!

Wonderful lox and chikve cream cheese on a bagel.

This is a wonderful new addition to the restaurants and cafes available in Kent, CT. I have watched from the outside during the past two years as the renovation of this historic building has transformed the space. Walking into the cafe, the high ceilings are awesome and provide an airy but welcoming atmosphere. The coffee is great. I enjoyed a cappuccino that had beautiful frothy milk and a lovely rich body. The quality of the food is outstanding. We had bagel sandwiches and they were chock-full of ingredients. The bagels were light on the inside and generous with the spices and flavors. The mission of the cafe is laudable. I was surprised that it wasn't mentioned on the menu but on the website there is an explanation. When I asked, one of the waitstaff explained that the cafe is designed as a place for those in recovery to be able to work. It was started by High Watch Recovery Center, which has been in operation in Kent since the 1940s. Online one learns that alumni of High Watch are being employed to "gain valuable work experience and learn to live free of addiction while supported by other employees who have lived through and are conquering the same challenges." I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of the baked goods. The breads look fantastic. My hat off to the decision to open early (7 am) and stay open until 4. Some of the town's other establishments aren't so generous with their availability.

Really good food! We got the Grilled 3 Cheese sandwich and the Herb Roasted Chicken Panini. Both were hot, fresh, and delicious. I would have given 5 stars but the prices are a little steep. But, as they say, you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend this place.

I thought this place was so cute! Last time I was in Kent this place was not here. There are not too many cafe food options in Kent. We ordered the turkey club panini and it was delicious. A little on the smaller side. The cafe is very cozy. I liked all the wood. There is not too much indoor seating. Just 2 tables that can fit about 2 couples each. And then there is a large couch with 2 side chairs with a table. Great stop for quick food if you're in the area.

Egg salad sandwich on rye toast with a side salad and an unsweetened ice tea...delicious!!

She was very friendly throughout our 10 minute stay here as we chose what we want, purchased, and sat down to eat our pastries. The inside of this bakery was spacious and clean. When we came, there were no other customers since they close at 4pm. In terms of selection, I was kind of disappointed to see not a lot of options. However, we were informed that if we were looking for more choices to pick from, that it would be best to come early in the morning. That's understandable and I will certainly do that going forward when I have a craving and am in the area! Excited to see more delicious options! From what we saw, I ended getting a chocolate frosted doughnut, and my friends got a jelly filled doughnut and a cannoli with chocolate and pistachios. The chocolate frosted doughnut was more dense than I wanted but it was still good and satisfied my craving. I also tried the jelly doughnut and that one was more airy and less dense and more of the consistency of how a doughnut should be! The cannoli is different than the typically Italian ones - the cream is light and whipped, not at all dense, and less sweet. The chocolate dip and pistachios are a nice touch!

I am thrilled to have finally had the opportunity! The feel of the place is precisely what you would imagine in Kent. Traditional old-style dark wood, a sense of community, perfect decor to harken back to the days of stage coaches and taverns being the center of a town's social scene. Service was excellent. We never wanted for anything - but yet were not bombarded or crowded in the quaint dining room setting. The best and most important part of our meal was - well - the food. The menu is suitable for literally any dietary need without compromising their spin on elevated tavern/comfort food. Ample appetizers, interesting salads, tacos, meat/non-meat and even vegan options abound - all with terrific portion size and execution. Our entire group was pleased (and some are persnickety). The menu is varied - salads, sandwiches & some nicer dining options. I had the burger with pineapple chutney, cheddar cheese & bacon. My husband had a turkey club. Both came with thin crispy fries. And both were very good. Actually, my burger was very delicious & very difficult to eat (the bottom of the brioche bun was soaked from the burger/toppings) . The pineapple salsa did go really well with the burger though - I wished there was more of it. Maybe serve it on the side? Relaxing music (soft jazz, Frank Sinatra, etc ) was playing on their speaker. And it looked like they had an actual piano bar there. Wonder when there is live music? No room for dessert, even though it looked like they had some great options: wild blueberry pie, Creme brûlée & Arethusa ice cream.
