There seem to be people here who want to look me in the eyes and ask how I am and care about the answer. The staff was happy to help me look for what I wanted. We picked out two tie-dyes and got to the register and realized that one short sleeve tie-dye, made on a cheap T-shirt, was $165. This is the complete opposite of everything that tie-dye, the Grateful Dead, and the Haight represent and it is truly appalling and offensive. I love Haight Ashbury! Love the whole vibe, people, and history of the place. I have been a couple of times in the last few years but had a chance to visit this shop with my wife and daughter over the summer. I'm not much of a shopper, but this is a place you don't want to miss. I'm not even a fan of tye dye, but still enjoyed my visit here. The employees here are amazing! My wife and daughter spent a while here buying a few things, and everyone was so helpful. They were so friendly to everyone who came into the store while we were there. The selection of clothing and accessories was huge. Lots of Grateful Dead stuff. The clothing is kind of expensive, but very high quality. I loved the aesthetic here. What could I possibly say about Love on Haight that hasn't already been said? I absolutely love how friendly and welcoming all of the staff members are. They greet you at the door and offer to help or just chat. They have hand tie dyed items for sale and each item has a tag depicting the artist. I'm so proud that I was able to bring some authentic tie dye back to NC with me. Absolutely love all the murals outside and the tie dye ceiling inside. read more

2.5 years ago, I took a cruise and San Francisco was one of the stops. I took a bus tour around the city, the few hours we got to be there, and the bus took us around Haight-Ashbury and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this shop from the bus, and I vowed one day I would come back to San Francisco and shop in it. 3 weeks ago, I got that chance, and all I can say is WOW! The inside is as gorgeous as the outside, and since tie-dye is my favorite color (!), I reveled in all the trip-tastic beauty. That had a crap-ton of cool clothes in there - even plus sizes, kimonos, hats, scarves, Grateful Dead stuff, including masks! Staff were friendly and very helpful, and what a strange and wonderful trip it was - I left with a lot of high-quality tie-dye shirts and even more great memories of this place - glad I got to go back...finally! read more

My partner has purchased numerous hoodies from this store, which have all been of good quality, although overpriced. However when I was walking my dog past the store this afternoon, I witnessed the manager/greeter threaten to spray a homeless man with a fire extinguisher for sitting outside the business and lighting a cigarette/joint. I went back to ask to speak to the manager and was told that this is their policy. I am absolutely disgusted by the way this business treats houseless members of the community, and highly advise against making purchases from this store if this is at all important to you. read more

I didn't end up getting anything, but they had such great customer service that I decided to write a review. I was dealing with a girl, I forget her name, but she was wonderful. She took pictures of the shirts I was interested in and she texted me those pictures and followed up twice (in a very helpful way) to see if I wanted to buy anything. I was greeted so kindly & even though I was in there for the experience not necessarily to buy something I was still treated like a true customer. My husband stopped at this store in San Francisco and bought me a great tie dye shirt while we were there and gave it to me months later after we got home. It was too small for me. I sent this shop an email and explained that he didn't have the receipt but the shirt still had the tag on hit. They were more than happy to let me mail it back for store credit. Once I got the credit, my replacement item was mailed back within days and I live across the country! The packaging was cute, they tied it with a pair of tie dye shoe laces and included a couple of stickers, too! I get compliments on my shirt all the time. They had gorgeous long dresses, short dresses, tshirts in a bazillion sizes, baby onesies, toddler dresses, bandannas, pants, tank tops, one piece jumpsuits, bell bottom pants, so much more!
