Katy is quite the trek for me, so when I knew I was going to be on that side of town, I looked up some saved locations and this one I knew would be the winner for the day, and it did not disappoint! Getting to the location was quite easy, parking was super easy as well, it is in a small shopping center. As I went inside, I could smell the food, and I knew it was going to be good. I was greeted by a younger guy who handed me the menu, but fortunately, I already knew what I wanted! Which was one of everything! But, I was solo on this day, so I had to have some restraint! I chose to go with the catfish basket, with 2 filets, fries (cajun), a side of mac and cheese, and a side of their specialty sauce that comes with crawfish! I had an appointment I was going to next, and I didn't think about how long it would take, but fortunately, it didn't take long at all. They drop the food to cook after you order, which I love!!! The catfish and fries were piping hot when they came out. Seasoned just perfectly for my taste! I'm glad I went with the two, so that I could take the other one home for later!!! I don't know how they season the fish, but keep doing what you're doing! I got the mac and cheese, it looked super good. It was cheesy and had the cheese pull that we all know and love. It wasn't my most favorite dish, it was missing a little something. BUT!!! When I added the side sauce with the crawfish in it, it became my favorite! Something about that combo just works! I believe it's the sauce they use in one of their pastas, but don't quote me on that! The sauce I used as a dip for everything, fries, mac and catfish. It is worth getting! LONG WAIT FOR FOOD, and I was the ONLY customer. Pay SUPER HIGH for boudin balls, 2/catfish, Koolaid drink, and a $5 piece of sweet potato pie ( that wasn't in my bag). We found Love's on Yelp when we were looking for a Saturday nite dinner, They are located on the north side of Fry right before Saums road going north. They are at the end of a small strip center. We went in and were self seated and the waitress came over and introduced herself and gave us a menu. we were instructed to go the counter and order and pay in advance. It is a little different incase there is a problem? Fortunately we didn't have any issues. We both order a cup of gumbo and it was very flavorful and a cup was the size of a bowl. I had the catfish and potato salad and it was delicious. My wife had the red beans and rice and she loved it. We both had a lemonade and ice tea which are served in plastic sealed bottles. The food was good overall, but mainly overcooked. The catfish was a little dark and the shrimp rubbery. The Seafoood Pasta was dry. However the seafood mac & cheese was creamy but there was no seafood. We probably would have given it grace if we didn't have to wait an hour & a half for the food. The business had to have lost hundreds of dollars just from the number of people who left without ordering. It appears that most orders were being cooked to order which may be the reason its taking so long. The restaurant was dingy with no smell of food cooking which worried us. It needs a good cleaning based on all the crumbs on the window sills. The workers were kind overall but 100% overwhelmed. So, first of all, this isn't a sit down and eat type of establishment. They have table and chairs, but it's more setup for to-go dining. We ordered the jambalaya, the fried fish and shrimp w/fries, the seafood pasta, and boudin balls. The seafood pasta was outstanding!!!!!! Very much, the star of the show!!!! The fish and shrimp were good, but the color of them, made me think that maybe old grease was used. But I will say, that they did not have any type of burnt taste to them and they were seasoned well. I would've liked a lil more seasoning, but for most people, I think they were perfect. The boudin balls and the jambalaya were not good at all. They were both very bland. I would first like to say the food was good. The flavor was on point and even after a 20min ride the food was still hot. This was my first time eating at this establishment. When I entered there were already several customers some waiting on their order and some dining in. Before placing my order the young lady said it would be about 30-45min wait. I was like okay and placed my order. I will say if you don't have time to wait I would suggest calling or placing your order online. It took about an hour and 15mins for my order to be ready. This was due to a influx of online orders coming in at the same time. Would I order again...yes. But due to distance and possible wait time I would place an online order. Yesterday was my first time eating at Loves. It was a Saturday mid day and really busy . The person that took my order greeted me without a smile. I let her know this was my first visit. I ordered the catfish and shrimp with Cajun fries fried crispy. Then I asked her how were the wings, she replied people get them. I said wow, people get them. So you don't know how they are. She said I don't eat fried food. So I said let me get an order of wings with pinto beans to go. She informed me there would be an up charge for the beans. I said okay. And took a sit and waited for my food. My daughter and granddaughter ordered their food next. 45 minutes later I get my food. To see the fish and shrimp were not fried with cornmeal like the online menu showed. It was more of a flour batter and very spicy. So I took a look at my wings and pinto beans to see the wings were almost fried to long and burnt, the beans turned out to be kidney beans. Not pinto beans. I really don't like to complain about my food, so I ate some of the fish and fries. I know without a doubt I will never go there to eat again. Everything we had was so good! They have a mural on the wall, it's at the end of a strip center. The food is amazing. You order at the counter, and service was friendly. We had the voodoo egg rolls, absolutely delicious filled with shrimp, crawfish, and crab. We got the seafood fries covered in crawfish, cheese, and a delicious sauce. I came across this place on Uber Eats while searching for a place for lunch. I love catfish and shrimp and Love's caught my eye!! I came on Yelp to read the reviews before I ordered. I was convinced and they definitely lived up to the positive reviews!! I ordered online for pickup. After getting to the restaurant, my order was already waiting for me. The woman who gave me my order (forgive me for not getting her name) was really nice and welcoming. The next time I visit, it will be to sit and enjoy my food there. It is a very cute, tucked away spot on Fry Rd. Just my type of place!! Now to the food.....NEXT LEVEL FLAVOR!! I don't know what I was expecting, but I was blown away. The breading was perfectly crispy, the fish was flaky, and the shrimp put the icing on the cake!!! It was the perfect amount of food and I was completely satisfied. I cannot wait to try literally everything on their menu.
