I needed to see someone on Saturday, 9/5, because my issue had gotten worse. I tried to make an appointment, but they were full. So, I drove up there--past the sign that says "Walk-In Clinic"--and went inside. I spoke to the receptionist, who told me I could not be seen that day because they only see patients by appointment. I looked at her and said, "But the sign you put up every day on the road says 'Walk-In Clinic.'" She looked at me with a straight face and replied, "Yes, you need to walk in with an appointment." Seriously? If that's how it works, then I guess if you made an appointment but arrived in a wheelchair, they wouldn't see you either. Calling yourself a "Walk-In Clinic," advertising online that you accept walk-ins, and putting a "Walk-In Clinic" sign out by the road--only to turn away someone who actually walks in because they don't have an appointment--is beyond ridiculous. I hope there is a special place in hell for the administrators at Presbyterian and all the trial lawyers in our state legislature who have helped put New Mexico healthcare in this position.

This is one of several issues with Presbyterian emergency and urgent care services, at this point you'd have to drag me in. The last time I checked because I was driving from Santa Fe back home to Rio Rancho. It said 10 minutes. By the time I got there, there was absolutely no one else in the waiting room. They send you a link and have you fill out all of your information, including taking pictures of your drivers license and your insurance information. Once that happened, they took me right back and I saw the doctor in like five minutes. I was literally out of there in maybe 20 minutes total. The doctor was kind and professional and the whole visit was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely go back after my experience today. There are too many urgent careers where you are waiting hours and this one also allows you online to go into a virtual queue. I was completely satisfied, especially because I was very sick and they got medicine called in right away that I can pick up within the next couple hours.

The doctors and nurses were truly outstanding. However, this week we took our neighbor to the ER for broken toes and a broken foot. We had to wait 7 or 8 hours to get care because they were short staffed. More people are using this center and they need to make sure that they have the staff to care for them.
