I switched from my doctor in Middletown because he didn't take my insurance and I had to pay $35 for the visit. My insurance covered the frames at Boscov. Dr Loveland took my insurance and I was expecting to pay nothing. I paid MORE! My insurance covers $200 for frames. The cheapest frames I could find were $220. The most expensive frames at Walmart are $125, most under $100. The eye doctor didn't say anything during the tests. I asked a question and got a sarcastic answer. My insurance has covered everything for the past 30 years. This year I got a bill for $50. I called and asked what it was for. I was told the billing department would call me back. No one ever called. My Medicare statement said it was a test to see if I needed to wear prescription glasses. I don't need this test. I have been wearing glasses since 1962. I came in with glasses & they knew I needed glasses without a test. When I picked up my glasses the woman handed me the glasses and a cleaning cloth and said I was all set. When I got home I couldn't see the computer screen and had to put my old glasses back on. I've left the old glasses on ever since. I wore the new glasses about an hour. They never asked about what activities I do, like every other doctor I've been to. I was told I had to come back for a second exam to check my eye pressure, but the second exam was a test for peripheral vision which I didn't the first time. I was told i could leave & they would let me know the test results. I have never heard the results. Walmart is looking like a better choice. Greg G. read more

Had A new patient appointment for over a month. They called to reschedule mine and my wife's eye appointment. 1.5 months from the original appointment. The day before that appointment they called to reschedule my appointment again. Yet another month out. When I said I'll just find another doctor my response was "OK, good bye". Never going back there again! They overlooked me and had me sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. Gave me a medical eye exam and billed my insurance without even informing me of the type of exam and where they were billing. They send me an overdue bill without ever sending me an original invoice, and informed me that they would not bill my eye insurance company because it does not cover a medical exam. So, bottom line, she was looking for the bigger payout with a medical eye exam. My former eye doctor informed me before trying to bill and said if it was rejected she would run it through my vision care carrier. Never again! read more

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. As a return patient I had a routine eye exam in February or March of 2023. They didn't send me a bill for that exam until January of this year and they billed it as a medical exam, which isn't covered by my insurance. When I called to inquire about my bill for $165.00 they told me I have a medical condition...which I don't. The doctor never spoke to me about anything wrong with my eyes during the exam and they gave me my normal glasses prescription. I asked for the doctor to call me to explain the "medical condition" before I pay. They said she would call me. 2 months and 2 more bills later, no call from the doctor. I called them again and requested to speak with the doctor and they told me she no longer works there and I'm responsible for paying or they will send me to collections...no offer for another doctor to call and explain my "medical condition" to me. I just had an exam elsewhere and guess what, NOTHING MEDICAL!!! Easy in and out. I have 20/10 vision, and have never needed glasses. I had to come here because my insurance changed and now they make me get my eyes checked yearly. Since this was my first vision test since elementary school, I didn't remember what to expect. They squeezed me in on the day after Thanksgiving, which was great, since I needed to get this appointment in before the end of the year; I was lucky that they'd had a cancellation. I have been coming here for almost 10 years now and almost everyone I know from the area does as well. Dr Loveland is personable and has taken extra time to help me with whatever I need. I got a pair of glasses here in October and the whole staff was so kind and friendly....then the other day the arm fell off and I realized there was a small crack in the frame, so I went in today to see if anything could be done. They immediately checked to see if they had the frame (they didn't) so she set about ordering it and then offered to put my lenses in a different color frame temporarily until mine came in so I didn't have to wear the broken pair anymore. I went to an appointment to that place on March 9,2021, the computer was supposedly so slow that the girl told me to go home that she will call me with the price of my glasses like two days later I was checking my voice mail and someone left me a message in Spanish . After that I been calling to this office every day 2, 3 or more times in a day and not even once those people picked up the phone! My optometrist retired so I thought I would try Loveland Eyecare. What a disaster! First of all, I ordered glasses. When they arrived, the optician handed them to me, and that was it. I have been wearing glasses for 37 years, and every other time that I purchased them, they were adjusted for my face. I got in the car, looked in the mirror, and the glasses were crooked. I adjusted them myself over the next few days until they sat correctly. Now comes the contact-lens portion of the experience. Dr. Loveland did not have my prescription in stock to perform the fitting. I was asked to return for my second appointment. When I arrived, I was asked if I had brought my contact lenses. When I informed the receptionist that I had not, she said that she would have to reschedule the appointment. When I informed her that I had not yet received a contact-lens prescription, she argued with me and called in the manager. Then the manager argued with me, told me that I already had a fitting and that I should have brought my contact lenses. Again, I informed him that I had not received either a prescription or any lenses. He then said, "I will order the lenses for you." How can he order lenses for me when I have not yet been fitted or received a prescription? What a miserable experience it has been thus far with Loveland Eyecare. As I said earlier, I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses for 37 years, and I have never had the administrative problems that I am having at Loveland Eyecare. After the contact-lens situation is ironed out, I will need to seek out a new optometrist next year because there is no way I will return to Loveland Eyecare. read more

After my boyfriend had a relatively positive experience with Loveland, I decided to order my new glasses there. I've been dissatisfied with the customer service enough that I won't be returning and will actively recommend to others that they not go to Loveland. When I placed my first glasses order, I told them I would need the glasses by 10 business days from the order because of upcoming eye surgery. Carlos told me that would be no problem whatsoever and told me that it would only take 5-7 business days for the glasses to be made. On business day 8, I called, only to be told the glasses wouldn't be ready until after my surgery. I was finally able to have the glasses rush delivered on a Saturday, but they forced me to pay a $20 "rush fee," even though the glasses took 4 days longer to make than they'd said and they knew my predicament. Carlos was rather rude over the phone, as well. When the glasses arrived, they hadn't ordered ultra-thin lenses, which I need because of my strong prescription, and the left lens kept falling out until I finally tightened the screws - not something that should happen to new glasses!! Unfortunately, the prescription post-surgery was not what I needed it to be, so I'm having to relive this ordeal. I handed in the prescription as soon as I got it from my doctor, and asked if they could rush it, since I was having visual difficulties. The woman at the desk said the glasses would be ready in about a week, with no obvious basis for making that claim. They made multiple calls promising the glasses were ready or on their way from the lab and then when I called to confirm, the glasses weren't in yet. I finally got my glasses yesterday, which marked 3 weeks. The quality of the glasses seems fine, but the service left something to be desired. If you have plenty of time to waste and don't mind customer service in the range from indifferent to rude, Loveland is the place to go to get your glasses. Otherwise, seek somewhere else. read more

Been coming here for a few years and I very much appreciate this doctor. She is very good and patient and more than happy to answer lots of questions. (This is the opposite of the experience I had with the optometrist I saw in Middletown.) The staff here has always been helpful as well; never had any problems. I have not been to this practice for any eye care but the service I received trying to get my records has been appalling. My dr retired & sent my records here. I tried to make an appt with them but for some reason she couldn't process my insurance information so she told me to figure it out before calling back to make an appt. what?! My insurance is 1000% valid. You'd think she'd try to help to see if maybe she entered it wrong before sending me away. So I said forget it I'll find another dr. I've been trying to get copies of my records since August. 1st they said they can't be mailed & for me to give a fax # of our new drs which I did. I asked for confirmation that it was done and I got no response for weeks. Sent several follow up messages. Was then told they MAILED my records on 11/21 - which they said they couldn't do originally back in August. Still have not received the records. Called and sent follow up messages. Nothing. Now my son has an appt with our new dr today and we have no records. Disgusted! I'd be leery to even go here knowing how inept their office staff is. read more

Not only is the new female doctor very patient and willing to answer all my questions, the front desk help is outstanding. What a terrible experience! I was referred to this doctor through my insurance. When I called, I was immediately put on hold for quite a while. When the man came back, he asked a million questions and then repeated the process when he needed my husband's information. He couldn't transfer the information?? He also asked me to repeat the same answers several times, including my name. In the middle of this aggravation, he put me on hold to take another call. I put up with this so that we could make the appointments....big mistake. I requested Mondays, but the doctor does not see patients on Mondays. Then he tells me the doctor is going on vacation and it would be more than a week before we could be seen. UGH!!!! WASTE OF TIME!!! I've been a patient for a few years now. The office staff is very friendly and professional! Dr.Loveland is the first eye doctor that I've been comfortable with. I was having a tough time choosing glasses and she took the time to help me choose a pair, gave me a honest opinion as to what looked good on my face shape. However, I decided to choose progressive lenses and was having issues with the left eye being to blurry. We tried to adjust the lens itself once and that didn't work. So when I went back, we chose to omit the progression,they ordered the new lenses for single vision. They credited me the cost of the progression and I was able to purchase another pair of glasses. I'm completely satisfied with Dr. Loveland and her entire staff. I will be recommending them to everyone who is looking for an area eye doctor who cares about patient satisfaction. I'm not going back. I had an appointment late January, and waited in the tiny waiting room with everyone else and all the frames for about 45 minutes before I was seen. My exam went smoothly after that, and the doctor seemed nice. I finished up and they were to order me a trial set of contact lenses and call me when they came in. Assured me it would be less than a week when the lenses would be in, and set a follow up appointment for me even. I waited for 8 days and didn't hear anything from them, so stopped in and asked if my contacts were there. They went to the side room and looked and then told me the contacts weren't there, and that they were probably back ordered and would check the tracking number and give me an update. So I cancelled the follow up appointment since I didn't have the contacts to even. Waited another week, heard nothing from them. Called them, and they checked and the contacts were not there, and told me again they were probably back ordered, and would check the tracking number and call me and let me know when to expect them. I reminded them that is what they said the first time and never provided me an update, they assured me they'd provide me an update this time. Well, waited yet another week, heard nothing. Called and left a message, never received a call back. Two days later I stopped by the office again and told them I was sick of being jerked around and if they couldn't get them in to write me a prescription and I'd order them myself or give me my money back on my exam (which was $295 total by the way). I also told them I left them a message and they never responded and that wasn't a good way to treat clients. They said oh let me look again and see, went in the room to the right of the front desk, and looked, and sure enough they found them. Then the lady had the nerve to tell me that they had actually been sitting there awhile, and didn't know why I didn't pick them up sooner. Really? I didn't freaking pick them up because they kept telling me they weren't there. They didn't even apologize, even after admitting it was their error. I had them check my address and phone number in their system and it was correct, so I have no idea what went wrong on their end. I walked out with the trial pair almost a month after my appointment, and didn't bother setting up a follow up appointment. I stopped in the next week and told them these were fine to finalize my prescription and she said oh are you ordering contacts through us? I said no, you couldn't manage to tell me the trial pair was in, so why would I order here? She handed me a piece of paper with my final bill and my prescription. I will be contacting Davis Vision to let them know what a bad experience I had, since she is on their in-network provider list.Hopefully they will see this and do better. read more

No stars!! This is the worst eye doctor ever! Rude staff indifferent doctor and the place smells like chemicals! The machine that tests for glaucoma was broken and they were like"oh well, you are fine" and still charged for the test. My prescription just isn't right for my contacts and I cancelled the order on my glasses because I found out that they were selling me the sample glasses off the shelf in the waiting room for full price! I had a bad visit the first time there and i wish i never went back the second time! I wasn't going to give a bad a review but they keep texting me about making an appointment and now i have been texted by them on Christmas day and New Years day! read more
