Been coming to see Dr. Sienko for about 10 years. Great office staff that is very diligent and caring. Dr. Sienko always takes whatever time necessary to care for you. The staff that helped me with my eye exam were wonderful. The girl in the eyeglass section, not so much. I was hurried along, she kept handing me glasses when I told her I wanted to look around at them to find something I liked. She was very distracting and kept grilling me so I ended up just leaving without glasses because she wouldn't ease up and let me shop, it was like she wanted me out of there. read more

The front desk staff was so efficient and did a great follow up about booking my appointment. However I felt very rushed in my appointment with Dr. Fung . I was rushed through my exam for a new eyeglass prescription, she never gave me the prescription. She never spoke to me about my eye health nor did she re fit me for new contacts or have me try on new contacts , she only gave me sample contacts at a slightly increased prescription to try for a couple of days. The contacts did not help and Only made my sight worse. I will not be going back here and will recommend my insurance not to pay for this visit. I will now have to find another doctor. In the event that life is happening and you hit delays, a little over 5 minutes past your appointment time will result in them bumping your appointment. Seems like a good policy for clients who are chronically late, but not for the average one time issue. Our appointment was for a child who had to leave school early to get there mid-day. No options given but a new appointment 20 days out. However, if you are there in a timely fashion, as we usually are, you may wait for them for 10 - 15 minutes if they happen to have delays within the office. If you have the option, seek out a kinder more compassionate Eyecare center. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. The staff is rude and 2 years in a row when I called to make an appointment I asked if my insurance was excepted and the answer was "yes"... both times. Last year they told me AFTER I already had my exam that they did NOT in-fact take my insuance. Then today, I decided to arrive a little early to pick out my glasses before my appointment- go figure, when I handed them my insurance card... they did not take it! I went to Wallingford Eye Care and had a routine eye exam with Dr. Sienko recently. He was great, made me feel comfortable and finding the right prescription was easy and not rushed. Very thorough and helpful. A couple weeks later I returned to pick up my glasses and also had another concern I needed addressed, which this time I saw Dr. Albanese. Just like the other doctor, she was extremely helpful, patient, thorough, and made it a comfortable experience. Highly recommend both of them. Great doctor and friendly staff! They were very helpful and patient while I shopped around for the perfect frames, and even ordered a pair in a different color just for me to try. They were gorgeous, but not quite right for my face, and I ended up choosing a pair at another store. Stopped by to thank them and let them know, and they were still very kind and understanding. We bought some progressive glasses and at the time of purchase we were promised that if we did not like them we could return them. The glasses did not work. We tried to return them and were told they could not return them. So, I guess they just lied to us. Either way, I would never do business with someone who is unethical. read more

I've been seeing Doctor Sienko for over 25 years. i highly recommend him as he explains everything clearly concerning the eye exam. He also offers advice on using glasses etc. The eye glass side has tons of different styles also. The staff are all polite and knowledgeable. As others have stated all the equipment is up to date. Also a plus, plenty of parking. Also one time I was having an eye problem and got in quickly to see Doctor Elder and it turned out not to be as bad as I thought. Great appointment times, and friendly personnel. I would reccomend this place to others as a great place to go for an eye exam. They also have a wide array of optical choices in their optical department as well. I did not utilize the optical side as I have a friend who offers the same services. My eye exam was smooth, they also helped me look up insurance information in a very calm, helpful way. My other experience w medical offices is if that they are confused on your medical coverage, they don't attempt to help, rather just bill you and let you figure it out with your insurance company. Our first visit here was great! My young daughter was treated respectfully. It was a thorough exam as it was her first. Additional charges (not covered by my insurance) were made known to me RIGHT AWAY (so should not have any surprise bills). Dr. Elder was great. He explained everything very clearly to me. I was able to ask all my questions, and Dr. Elder took extra time to make sure I had full understanding of what he was telling me. I did not feel rushed or that I was keeping him from something either. From reception to check out the office staff were friendly and helpful. At checkout I scheduled appointments for the rest of my family, with our busy schedule it took some time to find a suitable date, but the woman behind the desk was cheerful andhelpful and we worked it out. The office was clean throughout. The waiting room was comfortable and had age appropriate reading materials for my daughter and myself. A wonderful experience start to finish! Nothing special. They claim to be in network with Anthem, however, they always charge full price without checking to see my coverage. Since Anthem is about a mile up the road from them and the second largest health insurance company in the country you would assume they would know their policies. The doctors are good but they don''t seem to care about the incompetence in the billing department. After 30 years we are bailing out. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sienko for maybe 20 years if not more. He's always been professional, friendly, and most of all, just a regular guy (I'd have a beer with him). He always remembers what we discussed the last time I was there, even if it was two years ago. I moved away from Wallingford in 1997, but have continued to drive from from my new town to his office because I've always been pleased with my experience with him and his staff. They always have the latest vision testing equipment, and Dr. Sienko always takes time to explain exactly what he finds and gives options to make sure I have choices. I moved to CT about 5 years ago and when I finally decided to establish my doctors locally, I stumbled upon the Wallingford Eye Center. My experience with this office has been excellent! The front desk staff is always very friendly. I even completely forgot about an appointment and they rescheduled me for an appointment the next week, with absolutely no irritation or issue. Dr. Sienko the MAN. He is not only very friendly, but he is also extremely attentive to me even though I only see him once a year. The glasses selection is alright, but I have funky tastes so i go elsewhere for frames, but the staff is very patientIf I move, I will be sad to leave this place. I will never ever go here again. I got my annual eye exam from them which was great. No complaints there. After I got my prescription from them, I called them to inquire how much a year's worth of contacts would cost and how much my new insurance would take off from the order. The employee said she would find out and let me know. She never called me back, yet 2 days later, they charged $280 from my debit card that I used previously with them. I never authorized that charge and yet they charged me anyways. I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! Be careful ordering from them! read more

However, when I went to pick out glasses I was told that 1 whole rack was covered by my insurance (husky). When I returned the next day and picked out the glasses I liked from that 1 particular rack I was told that only 1 row was covered. I have been going to this office for years and never had a bad experience. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. They helped me figure out the best ways to get the most out of my insurance plan. My doctor is always very informative and answers all of my questions without ever making me feel like it is a silly question. Everyone there actually cares whether or not you are satisfied with your experience and how YOU are actually doing. They care!! A quality that can be so rare these days. While being caring, they are also efficient so your appointment doesn't become an all day affair...unlike some other doctor offices. The staff handling the glass fitting are is most patient - a quality I can attest to after taking a looong time deciding on frames for my first new fames in a decade.
