We are so fortunate in the WDC area to have access to the delightful confections from I Love Macarons. Not only are they beautiful, but these macarons are the freshest I've ever tasted. The fillings are smooth, fresh and light. The cookie is slightly chewy, easily giving way to the tender center. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! The company mail orders within the USA and are going to become my "go to" gift to send to my out of town friends and family. Don't hesitate to give them a try...they really are as good as it gets!

They had not yet started their holiday-themed tea, but it was fine as they had some holiday decor (a pink Christmas tree!) already set up, so it felt festive in there. For the tea, we ordered the Strawberry Champagne Oolong. Though it has "champagne" in the name, this isn't alcoholic. It was a very sweet and delicious tea. We also ordered a pot of the Earl Grey Lavender, which was also very delicious! Our afternoon tea experience came with the traditional three-tiered tea stand, with macarons, tea sandwiches (cucumber, etc.), scones, butter, jam pastries, and petit fours. Our tea also came with a pre-course dish comprised of a small grilled cheese pastry and a small tomato soup. Everything was delicious! We had an excellent experience here. I'm so happy Chelsea partakes in this market because it's closer to me now that I live in Maryland. I love that all the macarons were character designed and all came with a unique Asian inspired flavor. I love the matcha flavors or any fruit flavors, those are my favorites.
