Beware ladies: There's a male employee who has made a beeline for me twice now to assist me. The first time I ended up walking out of the store I felt so uncomfortable at his line of questions despite me saying no several times. I went back in today checking first to ensure he wasn't there... but I guess he was somewhere not visible at the door. I was rigid and kept saying no, I have it, I don't need assistance etc... he started getting what we called a nice nasty tone when I used to work customer service with me, but I chose to leave it alone. He decided to check me out despite it being obvious I was uncomfortable with him, so I took the opportunity at the end and told him that I recommend he learn to read the room and let the ladies help the ladies. His response? "Get some fucking common sense". Completely unwarranted. Not a single employee in the story even made an effort to apologize for his lack of professionalism. His attitude itself could be understandable if he encounters uncomfortable females like myself daily... but the "get some fucking common sense" comment was worthy of termination. This store has always been over the top, but today sealed the deal. Women, don't go in if he's working - he's not going to leave you alone and when you're polite but hold firm, he's gonna get pissed! Having recently moved to the area, I didn't know if there would be any adult shop options, and Lovers was the first one I found. I walked it not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised - but also disappointed. The store is big and full of merchandise. It has the feel of an upscale retailer... think Brookstone for dildos. The staff was very friendly and helpful, something that was off putting at first when I am normally acclimated to my sex shop clerk barely looking at me beyond my ID. They answered questions, gave suggestions, and were enthusiastic about their jobs. I also love that they were extremely LGBT inclusive with their marketing and language. The problem was, they didn't really have what I was looking for. Most of their stuff seems to be targeted towards the general consumer and people looking to "spice up their marriage". While they have a good selection, it's a wide selection of beginner products. That said, I did purchase something and was SHOCKED to find out my product had a five year warranty. Five years! For a dildo! Normally I'm lucky to get a receipt! So, if you're looking for a very beginner friendly, LGBT inclusive sex store, this place is for you! I know this is really dorky, but this is the only place I can buy Halloween outfits that fit. I'm 4'9" and the adults sizes are too long and the children's sizes are too small. The 'short/sexy' costumes look like regular ones on me. I have received several compliments on how I managed to find work appropriate costumes for my fairly conservative job. I came in not looking for much in particular, and the staff was UNBELIEVABLY helpful and fun to be around. They made what could definitely be an awkward experience for some people fun and entertaining. Any questions I had were answered enthusiastically without being pushy or inappropriate. Their selection of toys (for both men and women) was also impressive, but it seemed to lack a bit in variety of sizes. However, they made up for this in variety of items and their functions. And although it seems a tad pricey, it's actually very reasonable and average for the things they have.
