Yea it's another Braeswood review, but this spot is a spot I used to hit up every morning before I moved away. Even to this day, the attendant still calls me Emerson, and is fast and efficient. It's a typical Valero station. 4 pumps, coffee, hotdogs, beer, chips, and soda etc. But it's the service. I don't know the morning attendant's name, but she has cigs out for the regulars, calls everyone by their name, and runs a tight, clean store. Each time I've gone in there and she's there, she's never leaning, always cleaning. My point is, the station does it right each time.

Pasadena always has the best gas prices . The convenience store was smaller than average, but it appeared to have (I didn't go inside) the staples - your snacks, lottery, beer, cigarettes, drinks, bathroom, etc. They have steady business here. The good thing is, if it gets real packed, there is a Shell right across the street that usually has the same gas prices. I have been to both and they are both great. I've been to this location multiple times before and will come again. The only thing that may not be fun is during rush hour, you might never be able to get out of there because that traffic can get bad! Other than that, everything here is dandy.

Located at Bingle and Hempstead, this tiny lot is crowded with a taco truck during the day. This is the opposite of a popular slogan "everything is big in Texas". Everything is cramped in a smaller footprint. Inside of store is not inviting if your body is wide or require mechanical means to maneuver. But it has everything I need. I could not get a clear answer from the staff about the store hours. There ain't a sign posted. So I know it's closed completely at night, including gas pumps.

All I wanted was for her to punch into the register how much I was paying at the pump and let it go. I did not want the gift card. Yes, the gift card would've given me 20¢ off per gallon on the gas. But I didn't want to dick around with a gift card. I had a sick dog in my car and I was on my way to the vet. I would've paid $10 for a gallon of gas just to make sure I didn't run out of gas on the way to the vet (in Crosby). The card didn't work anyway. The pump told me to see the cashier. There was a line. I am in a hurry. I have a sick dog in my car. I don't have time to wait. I ended up going to a different gas station down the street and paying with my debit card at the pump. When the argumentative cashier at Texaco refused to do as I requested, I should've taken that as a hint and asked for my money back instead of accepting a gift card I didn't want. When I asked her "why can't you just tell the computer what I'm paying and at what pump?" she replied "I'm just trying to help you". By that time she had already swiped the gift card. Well honey, you didn't help. The card didn't work, I had to stop somewhere else for gas, and I had to return to Texaco with my receipt to redeem the card. The evening cashier was far more nicer and helpful. She told me the manager Jackie would be in the next morning, but that Jackie would probably try to leave early. What kind of manager who cares about her job leaves early? So I decided it was pointless to bother complaining to the manager about the idiot from the morning before. So, here I am writing a negative review, hoping the owner will see it. I also plan to contact Texaco directly. They'll find out who the owner is and forward my complaint. Now for complaint number two. What idiotic person thinks it's a great idea to force customers to get a gift card to get a discount on gas? Most gas stations offer a discount if you pay cash. But at this gas station you only get the discount if you get the gift card. You pay 20¢ more per gallon if you pay by credit card (normal) or cash (not normal). That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Additionally, where do they think people are tossing those gift cards once it's empty? I don't even shop at that Texaco. I only went there because it was on the right side of the street for me off of Baker before I made a left-hand turn onto Main. People frequently pay more for conveniences. If it was more convenient for me to pay a little bit more for gas so I can get to the vet quicker, that is my prerogative.
