I have been going to snowflake my entire life and they have the best donuts hands down. I currently live in Austin and I still have yet to find a nice donut shop with this high quality warm donuts. The glazed donuts are my favorite. On the weekends they always have nice warm donuts (especially the glazed) that have just been taken out. The drive through can get a little long on the weekends in the morning but they are pretty quick to serve you. Stopped by for a small order and the waits are always long in the drive thru. I don't understand when you are telling somebody your order in person and not at a speaker they still manage to get the whole thing wrong. I asked for 4 small bags of donut holes and the manager at the drive thru affirms the order. So I thought it was a little odd that the amount was higher. So I didn't think much of it till later in the day and that's when I called. The same girl answers the phone and starts arguing about what I ordered and thats what I told her, there is a big difference in the way large and small come out of person's mouth and don't understand how she got that wrong. On top of this she did not give me a receipt and there is an upcharge everytime you use a card. This is ridiculous and I will never return here. The "manager" needs to learn how to listen to what the guest is saying. read more

It used to be so good but last month my daughter came to visit and we went and could NOT get waited on--the owner and workers were in the parking lot playing with a baby--the kolaches are not good and the chocolate icing on the yeast donuts taste like chemicals--sad- they used to be the best. Delicious fresh donuts. My family loves it when I pick up donuts for a special morning treat, and this is our favorite place.

Today was my first day to try this donut shop and it was pretty good overall. I got Biscuits with sausage Gravey which I'll be honest tasted like powdered gravy but the biscuits were really good and flaky. I also got half a dozen of Kolaches 2 of each kind(Jalapeno sausage cheese, Cheese & Sausage, Ham & Cheese). I also got a dozen glazed donut holes which were also good. I am the kind of person that likes my bread soft and fluffy when it comes to Kolaches and Donuts and this is not how the bread was which is just my personal preference but over all the taste and flavors were there and I cant wait to go try other things like their Breakfast Croissants, Bear Claws, Cinnamon rolls, Burritos and other things I did not get to try. I got a dozen mixed donuts, a dozen sausage/cheese kolaches, and a dozen sausage/cheese/jalapeno kolaches for my coworkers today around mid-morning. They smelled unbelievably delicious while I was driving back to work and they ended up tasting just as good. The donuts were the highlight (I had 2). They were hot, fresh, and oh-so-good. The custard filled ones were REALLY filled - I hate it when you end up playing "find the filling" with a tiny donut. Definitely not a problem with these. And less than $7 for a mixed dozen - yes you read that right! AMAZING deal! The kolaches were pretty good. The sausage and cheese ones were fresh and the bread was soft, but the sausage/cheese/jalapeno were clearly a little older (hence -1 star). The bread had gotten that hard, crusty, slightly-stale taste that comes with sitting under the heater for a liiiiiittle too long. Kinda my fault for coming in at almost 10 a.m. for these though, so I'll give them another shot sometime and add a star if it's better earlier in the morning. Kolaches run $12-15/dozen depending on your flavors. The service was quick, the ladies working there were even sweeter than the donuts. :P They do accept Amex, if you're like me and looking to expense it. read more

New owner has fired all the good managers. Keeps the one that goes off on customers and refuses to stay off her phone. She changed the 40 year donut recipe and keeps donuts from the day before to give out if she runs out the next day. Can I give it more than five stars? This is the best cinnamon twist I've had since moving to Texas! The kolaches are delicious and even their croissants melt in your mouth! The price is right and the selection is plentiful. This is a definite place to come visit in Baytown, TX! What more can I say? You can even make a special trip to Baytown to visit this location. Lol, Yelp still thinks I should say more to be a review. This is my second time at this location and it was well worth the drove both times. I've been dreaming of these goodies. I grew up in Baytown and always loved Snowflake. Now 30 years later, every time I come back to Baytown I go to Snowflake. I get a dozen fluffy chocolate filled powder to take back to Huntsville. I have yet to find any shop that makes them the same way. Always so light & fresh. Literally melting in my mouth. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They were out when I came in a couple years ago and went out of their way to make them for me. Anywhere else would just tell me TOO BAD! I have had blueberry glazed donuts all over the city and these are the best by a long shot. However you need to call early in the morning or the day before to request them to be made. Today was by far the most disappointed I have been with the food industry in a LONG time. I came to Snowflake Donuts in search of a good breakfast, I chose the establishment because I have gone there since I was young. Once I was home I sat down and tried to enjoy the meal I had. Bad idea. The donuts and kolaches were cold and depressing, I could have had better from the elementary school cafeteria. The service was good but partaking in the distribution of such a HIDEOUS meal made not just me but also my WHOLE family depressed. The price of the underachieving meal was also horrendous. These fast-food establishments cannot keep getting away with this despicable quality of their shameful food items. Overall a 1/10 experience, I wouldn't make my worst enemy go through that.
